It was time to update my prescription so I thought Id try this office which is right up the street from my house. I told them I wanted a "contact lens" exam. Well when the bill came from the insurance company, it stated they charged $164 for the exam and $164 MISC. The MISC charges were not paid by the insurance company. I called the office to question what the MISC was and I was told that it was for my "contact lens" exam. So I asked them what did the $164 exam charge cover and was told it covered the "eye exam" which is separate from the "contact exam" and that my insurance does not cover both "eye exams and contact lens" exams. One or the other. I said "shouldnt there be some type of credit towards the "contact " exam since most of the "eye" exam is used for determining the strength of the contact lenses. They told me that the $164 charge for the contact lens exam is to measure your eye for the contacts. This is the most ridiculous thing Ive heard in a long time. $164 to measure your eyes? If thats not price gouging then I dont know what is. I would not recommend this office because I feel their costs are ridiculous!! Had I known upfront the costs, I would have stayed with my old optometrist in La Verne.

Ive been coming here for around 5 years, and have had a great experience every time. The Doc - Dr. Baggarly is fantastic! The first time I came, I realized that my previous prescription (issued by a major chain, usually found in malls, that shall not be named, but ends in "afters") was inaccurate. Ive been coming here ever since, and have never had a problem with my contacts. I visited again today for my eye exam, and will continue coming here for contacts and glasses. Hes a perfectionist when it comes to getting your prescription as accurate as possible, which is what you want....right? The optician - Amber was great! She made an excellent recommendation for glasses, and knew exactly what I was looking for (even though I didnt). She had a thorough knowledge of the different lens options, and explained them without the usual technical jargon. Ill be back to see her for some sunglasses soon. In summary, go to Claremont Optometry to get it done right, the first time. If you want cheap & fast, go elsewhere...Then come here to get it fixed. Cheap is expensive.

Dr. Baggarly was professional and courteous, but I dont quite understand some of the practices of the office. After my eye exam, I was asked if I wanted to purchase contacts from the office ($65 per box, 8 boxes in total). I said I wanted to shop around first. The front desk lady was noticeably peeved, and told me that the price would be the same everywhere. I later purchased the same contacts from an online retailer at $30 per box. When I called my insurance company to inquire about the out-of-network claim for contacts purchase, I was told that I was no longer eligible for contacts for that year because I purchased them already through Claremont Optometry according to their record. The insurance company had to call the office to straighten my record, and finally restored my eligibility. Two lies, one to me about no lower price anywhere, one to the insurance company that I already made the purchase through them, could have cost me $400. I was careful enough to call the insurance company, but I lost time in the process.

I have been wearing glasses and contacts for 7 years now. Ive always had a bit of a issue with my contact moving or not moving and even at times coming out. I figured this this was something that contact users just have to deal with. Every time I mentioned this issue to previous Drs they would recommend just a different brand of contact lenses for me. For the most part I wore Eye glasses because of this uncomfortable issue. I just moved into the area just in time for my annual exam. By chance found Dr.Baggarly and he was amazing! He took his time and heard my concerns. He went above and beyond to make sure I had the right contact lenses and that I was comfortable. He was able to determine my issue was the contract was too small for my Eye, and I needed special larger ones. I went home with a pair to try out. They feel so comfortable! It feels as if I am not wearing any contact lenses at all, and I havent had any issues as I did previously with other lenses. Thank you Dr.Baggarly and staff.

The right people in the right places! You wont be disappointed with your service here. From the moment you walk in youll feel like you are family. The team is client focused and professional with a family like touch. Both doctors know what they are doing and will gladly educate you if you ask questions. Nicole is really patient honest and sweet. She is our "go to" for the color contacts. And we count on Olivia (our eye fashion consultant lol) to help us find the right frames that fit our face shape.

One of the worst experiences Ive had at an optometry clinic. The wait was at least 20 minutes every time I visited, and I found this unacceptable considering I never went when the office was busy. They took two weeks to get my glasses with new lenses back to me. Usually it takes a few days at most. I had to wear my contacts for extremely long amounts of time, straining my eyes and thus worsening my sight. Please go elsewhere for yours and your eyes sake.

I attended the National Sunglasses Day on Tuesday, June 27th, and I received a 25% off with the purchase of Maui Jim sunglasses. I actually enjoyed the appointment! The people who helped me were not only helpful and courteous, but were also friendly and fun to be with. I have an appointment set for Monday to order a second pair of glasses (prescription also) for reading and indoor use and look forward to the experience!

I believe Dr. Johannsen does know her trade--shes the first doctor to find an issue that is either new or has never been seen previously by any other eye doctor. Additionally, I had a billing concern and when I brought it to the offices attention they were very prompt in fixing the situation and even helped me out a little bit extra for the effort. Its refreshing to work with a doctors office that cares!

I mentioned that I was looking for a tablet and Dr. Baggarly took the time to go get his new tablet and show its features now that the office is automating with upgraded hardware. Very personable folks to work with. Dr. Baggarly knows his stuff concerning my whacky eyeballs and their infamous history. Thanks for great service.
