This is my first time visiting Dr. Jeffrey Safarik for my yearly checkup and to get a prescription for new lenses. I was told by Dr. Safarik I have astigmatisms in both eyes and needed toric lens to correct my vision even though other doctors have said my astigmatisms were minor and I can continue to wear regular lenses. Dr. Safarik however said otherwise and insisted I go with toric lens and continued showing me multiple times what my sight would look like with toric lens which was great. Unfortunately, after I finally agreed Dr. Safarik told me it would cost $120 for the toric exam and $40 for copay cost. I was shocked because I have never heard of such high cost even when I didnt have insurance. I remember thinking If I dont pay I just wasted my yearly copay visit with a doctor who wouldnt give me the lenses he convinced me I needed otherwise my eyes would go bad. I was put in an awkward situation and didnt think I had any other choice. I thought maybe with all the tax increases this was a new cost with the Optometrist offices. So I paid my $120 for the toric exam and $40 for my copay and left feeling as thought I was just ripped off. The next day after talking to my fiancé he asked that I call our insurance company to confirm. Our insurance agent said she has never heard of such high charges because our coverage pays for everything except for the $40 copay. She thought it was very unusual and high for a toric exam. I called other Optometry in the area and no on charges for toric exams. I called Dr. Safariks office and explain to them what I found and what my insurance confirmed and asked what exactly did my $120 covered. The office admin said it covered the toric exam but the reason why it cost so much is because it was only charged to new patients. They never once shared a word with me the entire three hours of waiting in their office that this charge was for new patients only. The whole time I thought I had to pay for this and they made it sound like it was a normal cost. In addition, Dr. Safarik convinced me into getting toric exam only to corner me to pay for something I was told I needed. What kind of business are these people running? I am appalled and have never experience anything so bad. I want everyone to be aware and to avoid what I had experience at Dr. Safariks office. *Call your insurance company first and understand what is covered. *Dont go in unless they provide all the cost before hand even if you dont think you have astigmatism ... still ASK! If they dont tell you, dont go. *If they say theyll order a trial pair for you... keep calling them until you get some sort of confirmation shipping because most likely they wont order it until a week later. *They will charge you $160 for glass exams (this was covered under my insurance, too, but these people will charge you out of pocket). *Expect to wait at least 30-40 minutes after you show up for your appointment because your appointment is most likely overlapped with other patients. He will swap you in and out of the exam room with other patients while you wait for hours in the lobby like an idiot. *They will not tell you this but bring a friend because you will get your eyes dilated and wont be able to drive home by yourself.

One of the worst experiences of my life. I took myself and my grandfather there. A 90 year old WWII veteran who was simply looking for help with his perception was put through an array of expensive vision tests along with myself that had no outcome or relevance. Since I had a large amount of Care Credit and was deeply concerned for a family member they saw us coming a mile away.I recently called to retrieve this information we paid through the nose for and I was told very rudely and after a lecture equal to that of an agitated Sunday school teacher that the info was unattainable until I paid even more money.I dont believe this office cares about the health of its patients but rather the max amount of revenue per client.

Both my husband and I have been Dr. Safricks patients from the very beginning. We have found him to be very thorough and professional. We have never had to wait more than a few minutes for our exam and the only time we have to go back to the waiting room is to allow our eyes to dialate. Dr. Safrick has all of the latest equipment and he only suggests treatments - never pushing, but letting you make up your own mind. We would highly recommed his office to anyone needing an optometrist. You will find his office to be very friendly and helpful.

These folks deserve an award. I came in again with (another) pair of broken glasses. Kathy took them back and worked on them until they were good as new and fit perfectly. It wasnt an easy job and it took some work. I cant think of many places that would still do that. I love this place because they take pride in doing quality work. More places should approach customers with this much care and dedication. This is exactly the type of small business we should proudly support.

My experience with Dr. Safarik and his office was great all around. Dr. Safarik offered recommendations for some concerns I expressed, but was not pushy about my options; I greatly appreciated that. He allowed me to make my own informed decisions. The office staff was very kind, patient, and helpful as I picked out new frames and when I came back to pick them up to ensure they fit properly and comfortably.
