Beacon Health providers are underpaid and understaffed. After speaking with a senior manager at Beacon Health, I learned that they expect patients to be able to drive up to 25 miles(2 hours in traffic) to get the help they need. Beacon health needs to pay their providers a fair price; (not the cut rate prices that they currently offer... An insurance company that will only pay $10 for a therapist is a rip off); they need to increase the number of providers they have available. They make money off having more patients and they lose money when the patients use the providers. It is in their financial interest to keep a low number of providers on duty, making it difficult for patients to get the help they need and as a result, not have to pay out for medical benefits . Since every time a patient visits a doctor, its cost money, insurance companies are incentives to NOT increase the number of providers in network, nor provide a convenient search feature for finding a provider. While they are not directly limiting people from getting help, they are indirectly, intentionally or not, by not taking action and improving their search features.

This insurance company refuses to pay me, a contracted provider with them, for over 100 hours of service which I provided to patients. they have given my office staff the runaround on the phone. Each representative provides a different "lie" and the problems are never resolved. In order to get paid for providing services to L.A. Care patients, a provider must involve their congressperson.

I am a contracted provider. they refuse to pay under all circumstances. They will reject the claims with no reason ( they cant even answer why, and asking yo resubmit without any explanations) and then dont process for filling them under not timely matter. The worst insurance to deal with.

By far the worst service I have ever recieved they pass you around on the phone, hang up on you, and when you ask to speak to a supervisor there is never one available!!!!
