I have 2 Rottweilers & only recently began taking them to All Creatures. So far, Ive never had to wait when I arrived at my appointed time, which is a major plus. (Most vets seem to overbook.) The time I saw the primary vet, he was efficient, practical & respectful of my 25 years of experience with this breed. The only other time I had to go in, I brought both dogs--the male, though under 2 years old, was already 120lbs. The female, just 4 months younger, weighed 76lb. The vet who was covering that day was actually too scared to come into an exam room with both dogs. This seemed kinda nutty to me since neither dog was acting up. Instead, the substitute vet stood in the doorway & talked to me about the females symptoms. But, by the end of the visit, the vet broke down & petted BOTH dogs. The staff at All Creatures is great! Very helpful & fun. They LOVE the dogs! I feel this clinic is fine--the main Vet knows his stuff & the staff is friendly. I have VPI pet insurance & they reimbursed my in full for all the charges. This means that the billing by this clinic is fair & is in line with all other vets in the area. Im very happy I chose to try allCreatures Vet Clinic.

(No one is perfect, so All Creatures gets 4 stars.) Dr. Ben has looked after our cats and dogs for the last seven years or so. His vet techs are fine, and the office staff pretty well organized and getting better; Ive noticed that we spend less time in the waiting room these days. Dr. Ben himself is knowledgeable and pleasant, and gentle with our animals. I think his treatment pricing is fair for the Bay Area, although Ive noted that its much cheaper to buy supplements and flea stuff through the on-line store he recommends than to get them at All Creatures. On the other hand, Ben doesnt throw expensive procedures at every symptom, as our previous vet did, and he explains treatment options carefully, giving estimates verbally and on paper. When our much-loved aging dog was diagnosed with bladder cancer, Ben and his staff took good, noninvasive care of her and, after we decided on euthanasia, sent us flowers and a donation to the U.C. Davis vet school in her memory. (Our senior cat receives an Internet birthday card every year, a nice touch that Im sure she appreciates.)

Dr. Otten was our vet for many years and we couldnt be more thankful for his service. Our dog died from cancer when she was 13. When Dr. Otten discovered it, he not only referred us to the specialists in the area, but he also did research on his off hours. He found us new studies/treatments our dog qualified for at UC Davis and helped get us in. This was above and beyond the types of services other vets offer. The personal attention he gives to each family is special -- something you can only find in a small shop like allCREATURES. He also shared with us all his knowledge and expertise along the way, in an easy to understand manner, so we felt well equipped to make all the difficult decisions we needed to make at the end of our dogs life. He was a great vet all along, but he was extraordinary during the hard times, the times that really count.

We took our sick bunny to another vet, who saw him two or three times during the course of a week. The bunnys health continued to decline and the vet had us trying various remedies and medicines. When the bunny did not improve, we took him to allCreatures. The level of expertise and attention they gave the bunny was notable. They did several tests that the other vet had not done, and quickly identified the problem. Bunny improved within a day or two, thanks to their expert care. I was impressed with this veterinary clinic on a number of levels, including their knowledge of the animal, their attitude and the way they interacted with me (and the bunny), and their confidence in how they dealt with the illness. This is a great place. Great people, and excellent care. Not fancy, but very knowledgable and kind.

The entire staff at allCREATURES are the absolute best. About two years ago, I had to bring in my 13 year old parakeet who was sick. The choice I had to make was not an easy one. Fortunately, the staff saw how difficult the situation was on me and reassured me that my decision was the best decision to make. I have been bringing in my cockatiel for over a year now and I live how they treat us. I always feel welcomed at the office and they treat Paulie as my family member and not just a pet. I will continue to bring Paulie and my other birds to this office.

Dr Otten and Team are taking great care of my two German Shepherds ever since I got the first one 3 years ago, and both of them actually like to go to the vet. What I especially like with Dr Otten is that he is well connected in the vet community, was always well informed when the younger one had surgery at PETS in Berkeley due to a foxtail in his lungs. Dr Otten also was very good in recommending a fabulou Behavioral Specialist when the same pup started to display some issues with leash frustration. Id recommend Dr Ottens clinic any time with no hesitation.

After much research and several false starts we found that this was the one place in the bay area we could go to have our aging but still otherwise vibrant Chinchillas teeth worked on. And it was close by to boot. He did a great job, charged very little, and even gave us the weird little chinchilla teeth trimmings in a little glass tube. A very good vet experience and we have had many as we have had quite a few ordinary and exotic pets. I would recommend highly for any pet but especially for small fuzzy ones that others are not up to dealing with.

allCreatures has taken EXEMPLARY care of our myriad non-people family. We have cats and chickens and not only have they received incredible veterinary medicine, but care and compassion beyond any and all expectation. Our community is SO fortunate to have them. Seriously. I know this sounds completely over the top, but seriously I feel this way. Not only the care for them when they have been ill or injured, but also teaching us to be better caretakers. Better parents.

The doctor is fantastic (there are two now, but I do not know the new one) and the staff has been greatly improved to match the doctors 5 stars. Diagnosis is right on and prices are extremely fair for the Bay Area. Parking is easy, which is so important if you arrive with a sick pet. They even took care of my cat once when my car would not start and I had to call AAA. All in all its the best deal out there, your pet AND your wallet will thank you.

Weve been seeing Dr. Otten since we first adopted our little tripod schnauzer mix 3 years ago. We recently also started seeing Dr. Chan after she joined the All Creatures team. Both doctors are extremely knowledgeable, caring and honest and they will never recommend a procedure that is not needed for your pet. They just genuinely want to see your pet happy and healthy The whole staff there is friendly:) I highly recommend taking your pets here!
