I established vet care with the Cat Clinic recently after moving to Folsom. I have 3 cats, 2 of which are 17 with various health issues. I found the front office staff and vet techs to be professional and very caring. Ive seen both vets individually. Im having a hard time believing some of these reviews about the doctors. I didnt encounter any of those behaviors during my experience. My animals have very serious geriatric issues that Ive been well aware of and treated over the years. Pet owners need to understand, when we go to the doctor, sometimes doctors need to run additional tests to get to the root of the problem. I never feel as though Im being gouged...although it rings dollar signs in my eyes. Pet medical care, just like human medical care is very expensive. There are pet insurance policies that help soften the costs. Im very happy to have discovered the Cat Clinic of Folsom. Im a cat person and prefer vets and staff who solely treat these amazing felines!

After we moved to Folsom we went in search of a new vet for our cats. The first one we tried just didnt meet our needs so we tried bringing them to the cat clinic and our expectations were exceeded. The staff are all so friendly, they remember all of the little kitties practically on site and are all truly devoted to helping them. You can tell they are all animal lovers. Our cats never visit without being complimented and told how sweet and pretty they are. They are kind and caring and it helps put the cats at ease. Dr. Standon is fantastic and has helped treat all of the little problems that have come up with our cats, she is very knowledgeable and realistic of the needs of a family that includes animals. The prices are very reasonable and they even provide boarding services. We love this vet and Im sure if our cats didnt hate the experience of going to the vet in and of itself, theyd say the same thing about them! I cant recommend enough!

The vets and staff at the Cat Clinic of Folsom are and have been an absolutely amazing group. They have taken care of both our cats (Sketch and MooMoo). From diagnosed food allergies to surgical procedures, The Cat Clinic of Folsom has made our families lives (cats included) less stressful and affordable. We trust that they are here to help our animals, not their bottom line. They are very affordable, not only do they have minimal product mark-up, they dont bill you up the ying yang for invaluable services. Seriously, Im a coupon clipper who tries to save a buck on everything. The fees charged for their service and care are better than every other clinic weve visited throughout the Placer and Sacramento Counties. And as a couponer, Ive been to a lot! The Cat Clinic of Folsom will continue to be the clinic to care for our babies.

Unfortunately I feel the same way about Dr. Lara that the other low star raters do. She never seems to have a diagnosis. Its always, "It could be this, it could be that, then again it just could be such-and-such, or it might be blah, blah, blah..." when she sees cats every single day! Even when xrays are taken she wants to add on an $80.00 "consultation" fee so someone ELSE can give their opinion of the radiographs instead of HER being the one to interpret them. What are cat parents paying for in their $55 office visit fee then if we cant get any diagnosis or xray interpretation from the doctor? Dr. Lara refuses to commit to anything, I suppose in case shes wrong. Its incredibly frustrating and costly.

Nice building and its great that its only for cats but the vet that saw my cat (Anita Lara) acted like she hadnt ever treated one! She didnt bother to pet or be warm to my cat at all and cared more about getting sued over a bite or scratch instead of letting me try and keep my cat calm. My cat has been seen by many vets over the years and he has NEVER had any issues before this. The receptionist was wonderful, but thats about it. If you have a sensitive cat who gets worked up or stressed easily - DONT let Anita Lara near your cat. She should get a job working with dogs, seems like a better career for her.

Everyone here has been very helpful and kind to us and our pets. Dr. Lara is currently treating my older cat for kidney disease and has been wonderful, she even called us on a Sunday to give me his test results and talk about treatment options. We live in Carmichael but it is worth the drive to take out cats to a place where I know they will receive good care. The prices are very reasonable and they really try to give all treatment options and cost alternatives. Thank you Folsom Cat Clinic.

We have 3 cats, now all over 12 years old. Both Drs. Standen and Lara have examined them for their check ups and with occasional health issues. Both doctors are thorough, very caring with our kitties (and us), and always so good at discussing and explaining any necessary or recommended treatment. I appreciate their patience in answering my many questions. Their staff is also great. We have to drive a bit to get to Folsom, but it is worth it for our kitties health.

I cant believe that creep Anita Lara is still at that clinic!! 2 + years ago she traumatized my cat so badly he still to this day has fear issues when going to a Vet! She is HORRIBLE my cat is an indoor cat we have had since he was 2 months old hes 10 now was 8 when that creep treated him. DO NOT LET HER NEAR YOUR CAT! She treated my cat like he was a feral cat! its pretty obvious she does not know cats. Save your cat keep him/her away from that creep!!!

I would like to thank the staff at the Cat Clinic of Folsom for being extremely caring, empathetic and compassionate when I had to put my beloved cat of 17 years down. :( During the process they were professional and knowledgeable, and also very helpful and comforting. They even sent me a card and note in the mail expressing their condolences from the staff.

The staff is so friendly and I really like that they only work with cats. And their house cat Gracie is super sweet :-)
