Our experience with Dr. Brad Cahoon has been very positive and consistent with the majority of reviewers. I think some of the bad reviews may have pre-dated Brad taking over and opening as Veterinary Healing Center. For example, Rich Johnson is the subject of one negative review, however, Rich is not affiliated with Veterinary Healing Center. Also, I am aware that Dr. Cahoon has invested in new technology since taking over the facility. We are on our second generation of dogs with Dr. Cahoon caring for them. Several years ago, having been frustrated by a couple other vets who seemed to care more about money than pet care, I was referred to Dr. Cahoon by a co-worker who raved about him. He has more than lived up to her reviews for a number of years now. He literally added 3 years of life to one of our first generation dogs who had been written off by other vets and the emergency hospital. He just wouldnt give up on diagnosing her condition which lead to an cure, which was also affordable. He treated us fairly for her care and when the time came, he was exceptional in giving us honest assessments about the pros and cons of continued treatment and helping us decide what to do. I cant thank him enough for this. Now that our second generation dogs are aging and our Cavalier has a heart condition, Brad began introducing eastern medicine into her treatment (diet, herbs and acupuncture), in addition to western medicine. He was cautious about giving us too much hope, but felt it could improve her quality of life. The result has been a miracle. Previously lethargic and slow, shes now doing better than she was 3 years ago (she is now 10+). Brad is always fair. Conservative with medication. Very informative. Vet techs have been there for years. They know our dogs and treat them as their own pets, even laughing when ours become stubborn and uncooperative. I highly recommend giving them a try, especially if your dog has issues that have been hard to diagnose or treat. Brad will shoot straight and will put you and your dogs interest above his.

Dr. Cahoon, Dr. Jacobson and the entire staff at Veterinary Healing Center are wonderful. I have a little puggy and he loves coming to see everyone at the clinic! Everyone is super patient and caring toward all my concerns regarding my little nugget! I never feel like Im being judged or that my decisions dont matter, which is great and helps me feel really relaxed and welcome. I really love the plethora of options offered here too. My dog has pretty bad elbow arthritis and I was given so many options to help him including: acupuncture, herbs, laser, bone and joint supplements, diet options, and this list goes on. I decided to start laser treatments for him and he is doing better with each treatment. And on another positive note, the hospital is very clean and well-kept.

We have been seeing the doctors and staff at the Veterinary Healing Center of El Dorado Hills for over 18 years. We have had many dogs and cats that have benefited from the expertise and compassion of their entire staff. Your animals will be seen by very professional, intelligent and kind doctors that are all up-to-date on the latest medicines and diverse therapies. We take all of our animals there for their regular check-ups, vaccines, specialized therapies and have also boarded them from time to time. I have always recommended them to all of my friends and no one has ever been disappointed. Our pets play such an important role in our lives and it is imperative that they be cared for by the best doctors and staff available. We will never go anywhere else.

We have taken all of our dogs to Dr. Cahoun since 1999 when we moved here from Cincinnati. Dr. Cahoun has always delivered excellent care to our dogs and we have seen him through some unusual events; fox tails, lacerated leg, a dog attacked our dog and required subsequent surgery, and plenty of run of the mill vet care as well. Each with a ton of compassion, excellent advice, follow up care, and interest in us personally. He makes us feel like special clients with special dogs. We are looking to many more healthy years with our pups as they age and as we get new ones. He has managed us through 2 puppys care and the care of our 15 year old until he passed. We have the utmost confidence in Dr. Cahoun and his staff and appreciate all they have done for us!

My pets are new patients but so far Im happy with everything Ive seen. Dr. Cahoon doesnt rush through examinations and he explains medical lingo in a way that helps pet parents feel informed to make sound decisions. He seems to be thorough and has a great deal of experience that results in what we sometimes call "good instincts." Some doctors seem to rely too much on a checklist of progressively more expensive tests to give them any clues but Dr. Cahoon is highly observant and pays close attention to relevant clinical signs to help guide decisions and showed he was very curious and caring. I feel confident that we will be sticking with his practice as long as we live in this area.

Dr Brad Cahoon in the only vet I trust. He is proficient, compassionate and listens to my concerns. When my cat needed a specialist, Dr Cahoon knew just the right person to send me to with excellent results. There is zero ego with VHC and the entire staff is very helpful and kind. Also, I really appreciate the fact that Dr Cahoon has mixed both Western and Eastern Medicine into his practice and is concerned that the animal receives the best overall treatment available. If there is an emergency or a last minute problem, VCH have always been able to get me into their schedule and be seen. You can be assured you are in excellent hands with Dr Cahoon and his staff!!!

I have been coming to Brad Cahoon for 6 years now. I was referred to him by a friend that had an English Bull Dog after I had just adopted my English Bull Dog, Matilda. My friend told me he was the best with bull dogs and he was right. Matilda can be a challenge at times, but Brad is always up to it and never seems to mind. He is very caring and always making sure your baby after leaving the clinic, for whatever procedure, follows up to make sure you and your dog (or cat) are doing ok. Yes, I take my cats there too. His staff is also very wonderful too! I highly recommend the Veterinary Healing Center!!!

Vet assistants were great, but found the vet to be a bit gruff and uncaring. Our older cat had uti and was not about to be handled or take meds...his quote, "well, this was a waste of time." ...because she didnt want to be handled. Got her very worked up by immediately cornering her into her crate...and then was going to send us home with meds to feed to an untouchable cat!!! Finally, were able to get them to sedate her and treat her with pain meds and antibiotic injection while she was out...just could have been a better experience in my book. Didnt even ask us much about her history either.

We have been patients of the Veterinary Healing Center for ten years and will never go anywhere else. Everyone is so kind and the Dr.s spend quality time with you and your four legged babies, they truly understand that they are part of the family. Last year we had to say goodbye to our baby girl Sheba and the entire office were so attentive, made her as comfortable as they could and were truly concerned about us. They deserve the award for best veterinary office every year! Thank you for the care you have given our babies.
