Not unlike other medical / insurance scams, in that they are totally unaccountable for their billing practices. My doctor referred me to their physical therapy for my injured knee. I tried to find out how much it was going to cost, by calling their billing offices. They wouldnt tell me, just that their "average" initial visits were $150. Scheduled an appointment, and was told that the visit would be an up front $65. I asked if that would be the total charge, and no one knew. I saw the physical therapist for 30 minutes. She looked at my knee for a few minutes, gave me a print out of some exercises for hamstring flexibility that anyone can look up, and spent the rest of the time talking about my history and the exercises. I decided there was no point in seeing the PT again for basically nothing. About 6 weeks later I received a bill for an additional $143, for "physical therapy diagnostics". So, $208 down the drain. There is no other "product" I can think of where they wont tell you how much its going to cost, and will bill you weeks later for essentially nothing. I know that Kaiser is not unique, its the entire medical/insurance racket. But somehow, this has to change. My only solution is to treat my high-deductible medical "insurance" as a required cost for emergency use only. And to try to see the doctor as little as possible.

It is great to have a Kaiser facility right here in Gilroy. I could see my primary physician, have lab work and mammogram all within one hour! The only down side is that if there is anything else you need, you will need to go to San Jose. It would be great if they have specialists who could come even just once or twice a week. This will help especially those with transportation problems.

We got Kaiser back as insurance. I love how almost everything is in one building. I still have to get all my records transferred over but I will do that soon. I just realized there late evening pharmacy hours which is great for us commuters.

ZERO STARS!! Kaiser Permanente is the WORST!! They give no real help for Mental Health care or help. I have had problem after problem and no real solution to my Mental health issues. STAY AWAY!! Go to Good Samaritan for help.
