we had the best experience at this dr.s office when dr. karnani was a partner. once she left we have had nothing but problems. after today we are switching to a different family practice that actually treats its patients like a family practice should. this office has totally forgotten what it means to know and care about the patient. i initially was told that due to taking on so many new patients they were adjusting but after almost a year i have not seen much improvement. courtesies that are not extended by this office... 1) if you go in for a cold or an infection that you know is covered by your insurance only discuss that particular problem. absolutely do not mention any other conditions or ask questions you may have about other issues you were curious about unless you have already checked your insurance for coverage...because you will be billed even if it was just a conversation and no services were provided for those issues. this is mainly a heads up for people with young children and the elderly because we often have random questions about things that dont need treatment, just an acknowledgment that it is normal or what we are doing to treat the dry skin or rash is ok...do i really need to be billed $140 for asking if using a&d on my babys rash is ok? 2) ive only had two other family dr.s in the past 20 years...both exceptional with exceptional staff. in both cases if i erroneously scheduled a physical 5 days prior to the one year mark, i would get a phone call suggesting to reschedule, so i dont end up having to pay for the visit. no such courtesy is extended in this office. so make sure you mark your calendars clearly one year in advanced! this is mostly a heads up for patients with children...those one year visits can be expensive if you dont make sure you adhere to your insurance policy...something a good doctors office staff would be on top of when scheduling your appointments. 3) since dr. karnani left ive seen a different person almost every time ive brought in a child or come in for my own physicals. you will not be known to anyone in this office. both of my previous dr.s took the time to know my family well. they knew who had what prescriptions, colds, and even interests such as sports and activities. this will not happen at this office. the problems that i have encountered because they dont know us, include being on vacation and not being able to get a prescription for a bladder infection (this ended up with me wasting a whole day on vacation trying to find a dr. in the area to see me) then upon my return from vacation going in for a follow-up and being asked by dr. frei who would prescribe me that medication when im pregnant and me having to remind her that i had miscarried only two weeks prior (dr. frei was also my obgyn, so you would think she would know me). i will say that the two p.a.s that i had visits with were very kind, but i expect more than just kindness from my family practice. the problems i encountered may seem small on the surface, but my familys health and well being are put in the hands of the dr.s office i choose to take them to. it is important that i trust that the dr.s and staff are taking care of our best interests mentally as well as physically. i sincerely hope this office will be able to improve, but as for us we are off to find something better...when it comes to our health my family and yours deserve the best. *********we wish there were more dr. karnanis and dr. greenbaums in the world because dr.s like them are the best!*********

I just read all these other reviews right before my appointment and I now can see why these patients are unhappy with the way the office is run. First off, the MD has a 3 month wait list for an appointment but you can see the PA, which I have no problem with, within 3 weeks. I made my first appointment and was told they do not call to remind you of your appointment, which is okay because it IS the patients responsibility. I understand that. They told me to arrive 30 minutes prior to my appointment to fill out necessary paperwork. Thats understandable. Heres where it is NOT understandable: I had trouble finding the office (the street address # is not really chronilogical on that street, not my fault), so I arrive 15 minutes "late". My appointment was for 1030 and I was supposed to arrive at 1000 and got there at 1015. The girl at the front desk says to me "youve already been removed from the system because you are late." I explained to her that it was my first time at the office and I had trouble finding the office. She said "you were supposed to arrive 30 minutes early to fill out necessary paperwork. We can only offer to fit you in at 1:30." I explained what happened again. She didnt offer a different solution or say they understand or anything. She asked if I wanted the 1:30 slot and I said no, I will find another place because that was excessive. I am a nurse and I understand healthcare is a BUSINESS first and foremost - if they dont have patients, they do not have a business. THAT is not a way to run a business. I am livid and disappointed!! Those are my 2 cents.

I used to be a patient of Dr. Frei but I am now looking for a doctor that actually is available and responds to their patients needs. The staff at Dr. Frei is horrible. I had a simple question about getting blood work done and I was told that the doctor wasnt in that day but they would get back to me. I have yet to receive a call back. A separate time I called just to cancel an appointment and I was put on hold for TWELVE MINUTES. I finally hung up and called back and when the staff member on the phone answered I let her know that I had been on hold for 12 minutes and asked if they still needed me to be on hold or if I could speak to someone finally. Her response? "Well I didnt put you on hold." No apology? No nothing? Obviously she was sitting near the phone where the line was indicating that someone was on hold but she did NOTHING. HORRIBLE HORRIBLE SERVICE!!! Plus Dr. Frei has recently reduced her hours, she now works 4 hours a day but as I said earlier she wasnt in one day. This means she is working less than 20 hours a week. I suggest you find a doctor that actually wants to work and acts like she cares about her patients. You may blame the staff for the horrible customer service but she is the person who is in charge of the staff so the staff and her are one in my mind.

I have been seeing Dr. Frei for a few years now, and I must share that she has always been very thorough and caring when it comes to my medical care. I must say that there has never been a visit that I felt that she hasnt taken the time to listen to me or hesitated in offering me the care that I truly needed. Frankly, I have come to see Jeannette as a friend over the years. The only reason that I couldnt give her 5 stars is because of the stability (or lack thereof) of her office staff. It seems as though there is always someone new working in the office when I come in for a visit (especially in the past year or so), and Im not just talking about one or two people. This is rather disconcerting as we all know that the "front line" is extremely vital when it comes to follow-ups and other needs that a patient might have. I hope that Dr. Frei will be able to solve this issue soon as it truly does appear to be a problem. Unfortunately, I see that it has caused a few to not see her in such a good light (based on some reviews that Ive read), and frankly, I dont see this as very fair to her. She really is a good doctor, and I hope only the best for her as she works out these issues.
