My name is Vicki and I dread annual check-ups - physicals, dental, and vision all equally the same. I like to think that I have a superwoman complex, where like wine, I just get better with age. Unfortunately, time laughs at my complex. About a year and a half had passed since my last vision exam and I was well overdue for a new prescription for contact lens (dang one year prescription limits!) I decided to make use of my insurance and perused through the VSP directory for a local optometrist. I only had three requirements that I sought for: (1) distance (2) parking (3) positive feedback from folks who are a little far off from perfect vision acuity. After some good ol sleuth work utilizing Google and Google Maps, I decided that Dr. Cheng from Blackstone Optometry would be an ideal candidate as my local optometrist. From the initial phone call to set up my appointment to the end of my visit, I felt nothing but professionalism in the friendliest form from the entire staff. Stephanie and Mary made it easy to check in by emailing me the new patient form so that I could fill out the form in advance and at my convenience. Dan was super sweet and impressionable, explaining every pre-exam process so that I would feel comfortable and be at ease. After a short wait, Dr. Cheng greeted me and led me to the exam room. I appreciated his input and how he provided me with multiple options for contact lens, ensuring that his input was purely informational and not bias. As I was signing some final documents at the end of my visit, Dan came out and thanked me for my patience and apologized that I had to wait a bit past my appointment. I guess one of the staff members noticed that I went back outside to feed the parking meter, so they offered me a gift card as a token of their appreciation. It was definitely not necessary, but I appreciate the attention to detail and effort to cater to their clients. Thank you Blackstone Optometry - I definitely will be back (a year from yesterday.)

What a great experience. The girls at the front desk were very friendly and greeted me right away. I filled out the necessary paperwork through email a few days before my appointment, a smart way to get customers in and out and save time. I was also greeted by Dan, the coolest, most down to earth guy Ive ever encountered in a medical office, lol. He was very knowledgable and did the preliminary tests for Dr. Cheng. He tightened and refitted my glasses for me and also gave me a cloth, all for free. Thanks Dan! Dr. Cheng was very helpful in explaining everything about contact lenses. He broke down information that previously I did not know. I learned so much about my eyes and contact lenses. Very informational eye exam. Also, there prices on contact lenses are the best you will find anywhere. At first I insisted at buying online but then compared and they are equal or cheaper. Overall, you cant ask for better customer service. Friendly atmosphere and knowledgable staff. Ill never go anywhere else for my eyes. Thank You Blackstone.

My husband and I were recommended to this place by a friend of ours and we are really happy with the recommendation. The service was great and Dr. Sheng took the time to explain what everything meant on my result sheet and what we needed to pay attention to. My plan pretty much covers a new pair of glasses but they didnt push me hard to get one there after. I thought that was nice without the pressure. In the beginning they did advise me to take the exam not covered by the insurance. My husband told me to do that since with this thing, they would be able to check the health of eyes more thoroughly, and this is very important. My husband hadnt had an eye exam for years and last year his retina was partially detached and he ended us losing part of his vision after an emergency surgery (and he is not even 30). So its necessary to check everything to make sure that your eyes are in good condition. The otherwise is always likely to cost A LOT more.

Went in for a scrip renewal today and all three members of the staff remembered me from six month prior, asked me how lifes been since and offered hand shakes and smiles. This familiarity, to me, shows a great level of commitment towards customer satisfaction. The trip in six months ago was for a new pair of glasses and even then, my first time in, I left feeling like I was a part of their little family at Blackstone. I was able to find a pair of frames that fit well in the store, but had I not, they had an extensive catalog for ordering. Maybe they keep secret files on their customers to keep up tabs, but whatever theyre doing here, it works! Theres nowhere else ill turn for my optical needs.

This place is the best and I am so thrilled that a friend recommended it to me. From the moment I walked in, the friendliness of the staff truly stood out (Dan and everyone else at the front desk!). Dr. Cheng was thorough in his exam and super patient in giving me several options of different contact lenses to try. I finally have found a brand that I love (after years of only being kind-of satisfied with my lenses). The place is clean, well-organized, and in a great location. And when I came back for my follow-up, the staff remembered me by name and even asked about a vacation that I had gone on. So nice. YOU SHOULD GO HERE!!!!!!!

Extremely professional, yet comfortable and relaxed atmosphere at the same time. These doctors are super knowledgeable and really take the time to explain everything to you, and answer all your questions. They always seem to have reviewed my multi-year history with them prior to my appointments so they immediately know what theyre looking for and where we left off last time. Its very comforting to feel your doctors are aware of your progress/condition/situation each time you walk in. Blackstone is the definition of "care". Cant recommend these folks more highly.

I love this place. I decided to make an appointment here after reading their excellent reviews on Yelp. What really stands out about Blackstone is how friendly and informative the staff are. Kim guided me through the entire preliminary diagnostic testing before I saw the doctor-- she explained how everything worked and the reasons for the tests. Dr. Fukunaga was calm, genuine, and very knowledgable. I learned so much about my eyes and how to take care of them. Im so glad I came here, it was a really lovely experience all around.

When my former optometrist started becoming prohibitively expensive, I found Blackstone by Yelp reviews. I have now been going for 3 years, and my experience with them has been excellent. They conduct extremely thorough exams, they explain everything and answer questions patiently. Dr. Fukunaga is terrific. They have a good selection of eyeglass frames at various prices, there is no pressure to buy expensive ones. The office staff is polite and helpful. I highly recommend them.

I have tried to use contacts for years and struggled and failed after weeks at a time of trying. I came to see Dr. Cheng two weeks before my wedding, determined to use contacts. They (Dr. Chang and the woman at the front desk, whose name I am shamefully forgetting right now) were so patient with me and in 2 sessions, I got it! Ill be coming to Dr. Cheng from now on. I will also mention that my husband sees one of the other Drs. here and is also extremely happy.
