I’ve gone to this place for years, and while I think they charge too much, I also thought I got a much more thorough exam and the quality of the lenses were better than what I was getting previously. I used to go to Sears in South Coast Plaza, but I had some problems with coupons – twice in a row – so I stopped going there and ended up going to Custom Eyes. Sears did honor the coupons, but I didn’t like how the optical manager handled the situation – I ended up going to the store manager and he corrected the issue. The manager I had problems with was just plain mean and I don’t think she works there anymore. I’m sure others had problems with her. But, I’ve been going to Custom Eyes for years now and see no reason to switch back to Sears. Anyway, I only wrote this because I felt bad for the doctor after reading some of these bad reviews. He is a really nice guy and I think he does a good job. I also never had any problems with the front staff. I’d rate the place 4 stars because of the price, but I’m rating it 5 because the doctor took my wife in right away when she had an eye infection. She’s been going there for years also and hasn’t had any problems.

A positive experience of my recent visit to this business. Very professional, knowledgeable. Doctor answered all questions. A special characteristics is his explanations of what he is doing during the various steps in the exam, during the prosecution of the exam. I was not rushed. Doctor answered all questions and provided more information than expected and asked for. There are some places in our society where customer service is working. I did not feel that I was "just another" customer representing a source of income for this practice. In our world of declining quality of service, this doctor and staff are in the throes of reversing this condition. May their actions be contagious and epidemic? I am proud that this office is a member of the Costa Mesa business community. This message will be copied to the Costa Mesa city council.

This office is a joke . The staff is rude and the doctor is a total moron. If u want to get ripped off then go here. I was appaled that the doctor took a "personal" call during visit. I needed contacts for an emergency and was told by staff that i had to wait for 2 days !!!! I asked them if they ever heard of fed ex!! I have sinced moved on to 1-800contacts, and for the first time in my 25 years of contact wearing I am allowed to buy as many pairs as i want. Dont waste your time at this office, they are more worried about making money then they are about helping patients. good luck all P.S. WATCH FOR THE "PLANT" REVIEWS THAT WILL NOW TURN UP PRAISING THIS MORONIC OFFICE.

Our service was great. The front staff was terrific. The doctor was knowledgeable. They provided me with the frames and glasses I needed and even sent them in for new replacement lenses when I needed them. No hassle. Quick turn-around. And they replaced my wifes lenses when the ones she ordered did not work out. Again, no hassles, great service. So, maybe its a new staff ... But, everything was exceptional. Plus, theyre local and not a franchise.

wow wish i would have read these post before i went . Do yourself a favor and find a real Dr. This place is not good. They do not care about patients rights, and are rude. I have a once a year payment for eye exam, and they told me it was no good. I left office immediately and will never return. the front staff are immature and too young to be running a Drs office. Good luck if you dare set foot in this place.

He performs very comprehensive eye examinations while explaining his findings. Without any pressure, Dr. interfaces his recommendations with my personal preferences. I made the trip based on a good friends recommendation. Ive had a string of discomfort with my contact lens fit and eye strain. Dr. Burgoin quickly diagnosed the problem, and patiently took the time to ensure that my glasses and contacts fit perfectly.
