They ruined my credit score for 7-10 years, putting me in a particularly inconvenient position as a recent USC MBA graduate. I received a notification from Credit Karma saying my score had changed, and when I logged in I saw that it was from USC sending two medical bills I never even knew about to a collections agency. After speaking with the collections agency and USC, they say USC sent the two bills to an address I had since moved from. When I asked why they didnt call, they said they did, so I asked them what number they called. It was off by a number because someone didnt input it correctly. The result? Not one, but TWO derogatory remarks on my credit score because they submitted TWO bills that I never knew about to the collections agency. These bills totaled less than $500: clearly not something Im dodging. I asked both if they could do anything about removing the derogatory remarks and they just said they tried contacting me, and they cant do anything about it. Way to set your graduating students out on a good path, USC.

While the care here is mostly good, you must not pay anything up front nor should you pay anything until your insurance company sends you a final explanation of benefits. Why? Because I overpaid my bill by $467.20 and here I am eight months later still trying to collect. Ive talked to their "refund" department on three separate occasions and gotten lip service. Ive written letters to Mitchell Creem (CEO) and his boss Elizabeth Garrett (Provost) and they have been ignored. This, I believe, is more than a mistake. I think this is a means by which USC increases cash flow at the expense of its patients. But I will soon be visiting my local collection agency: The Superior Court of CA. Tried to post on their website but they continually remove it. Censorship is a terrible thing especially when practiced by a university affiliated organization that professes to practice "integrity and respect."

They performed titers to check for my immunization levels a year ago before I left for school. They failed to send the records to my school. After calling several times, I finally got the records sent. That was a year ago... I told them Id be moving and gave them my new address. They apparently sent a bill I never knew about to my old address and the mail was returned due to my address change. They had (and still have) my current phone number on file, but never once tried to call me. A year later (now), without knowing anything about the bill, I get a call from an incredibly unprofessional collections agency. After hours on the phone, I find out that they simply send you to collections without trying to contact you if you move. Now they are ruining my excellent credit and have no remorse. They just want the money. This place only cares about money... Terrible people.

Initially, my reaction to being a patient in this hospital was very good. The staff seemed knowledgeable and helpful. However, when I was discharged, the hospital failed to correctly fill the doctors prescription and I went a full week with increasing pain because I was not given any anti-inflammation drugs. That substantially slowed my recovery from spine surgery and made it much more painful. In addition, the hospital center repeatedly failed to bill my insurance, leaving me to chase after them to get billing corrected. One nurse told me that the billing office was "incompetent." Further, post-op I was placed in a room with a man who was highly contagious with diarrhea and I would up with the same disease for six weeks. In addition, the sight in my left eye was damaged during surgery and more surgery was needed to fix that failure by the hospital staff.

Amazing and blessed experience! My father had open heart surgery. Valve replacement and the MAZE by Dr. Baker and his team. Every single doctor, nurse, monitor tech., patient care tech. Respiration tech. And Therapist have been outstanding and professional. I am so thankful we were able to get a second opinion and bring him here. The expertise and knowledge is ongoing. We placed all of our trust in each individual here and they all contributed to the care of my father. After 7 days we were confident that we could continue the care and support at home with the knowledge we gained here. Thank you from the top.... Middle....side...bottom of our HEARTS!

Avoid this hospital at all costs. The doctors are rarely available, and when they are, they treat their clients like dirt. The administrative staff is even worse. Theyve canceled our appointments now twice, once after we drove an hour to get there--and they refuse to make amends or offer us alternatives. If you have any other choice, take it. Trust me, these people are not worth the pain and the effort. And as for the hospitals top staff, its clear that theyre more concerned with bolstering their reputation and attracting international "experts" than they are with providing sufficient care for their patients.

My friend went to ER with a broken jaw. After taking X-Rays - his jaw is broken on both sides - and they discharged him with an appt for surgery the next day. His insurance was declined, so they refused to do his surgery. He cant eat or drink, and has bone splinters jutting out through his gums! Keck Hospital is a public hospital, and it is malpractice to refuse treatment to a patient, emergency or not, regardless f insurance or ability to pay.
