If I could give this lab a negative rating, I would. I travel a great deal and have national insurance and have gone to Quest Labs all over the country, and never before have I encountered such a terrible Quest lab. There was only one person working there, and she was like a drill sergeant, only worse. When I arrived, there was no one at the counter, butI was next in line. When the phlebotomist in charge came out from the back, an elderly woman was waiting to ask her a question. She first asked for a glass of water (there was a cooler behind the counter) and the phleb. told her to get it herself. Then, the woman mentioned that when shed been there a couple of days before, the phleb. had forgotten to give her a green card of some sort that she needed. The phleb. then started yelling at her and talking to her in such a condescending manner that it bordered on the abusive. She kept saying, loudly and aggressively, "LISTEN TO ME," right in the womans face, but it seemed she wasnt really addressing the fact that she had forgotten something the woman actually needed. Everyone in the waiting room was terrified. I was next, and, apparently because she read from my body language that I hadnt approved of the abuse shed heaped on the prior patient, she took EVERYONEs paperwork in the entire waiting room before drawing my blood. It was terrible. Oh, the box in the waiting room where there are supposed to be cards where patients can rate their service was empty! After she drew my blood, I asked for such a survey card, and she had the nerve to tell me to stand there and fill it out and shed take it from me. I told her, No, I wanted to take it and fill it out and send it in myself -- as was clearly supposed to happen since it was a self-addressed, stamped card. This woman should be fired. She has no business working with anyone, let alone with an elderly population, in a place where people already feel vulnerable because theyre about to be poked with a needle and they may well have a health problem to worry about, as well. Shame on her.

It was the fastest and best service I have ever had at a Quest Diagnostics. The whole thing took 10 minutes and that was without an appointment. I mentioned the negative review I read here and was told that they recently had a change of staff. So, whoever it was that earned the August 5, 2010 rating, is no longer there. The new staff is excellent.

In regard to confidentiality, laboratories are required to report certain communicable diseases, such as TB. I would not blame them for a breach of confidentiality.
