I cannot even give this Vet 1 star and this is the reason- I brought my 12 year old cat in for serious weight loss. Dr. Able examined him and found a mass in his abdomen. She advised first a blood test for hyperthyroidism, an easy explanation, and if negative, to reassess the mass, perhaps an ultrasound, which she would discuss with another doctor on staff that day. I received a call noting the test results were all normal, good news. Never a call from the doctor about the mass! I called back and said I was still waiting for a call from the doctor on another issue, but upon review of my account, the assistant did not know what my issue was. "Are you waiting on other results?" REALLY???? I just feel that this is a very very important issue with my cat and the fact that not only is there no follow up, but in fact they did not care enough to note it in his chart or my account, is careless. I need a vet who loves my pet or at least can appreciate how much I love my pet. And, after receiving the lab results by fax, they are NOT all within normal limits!!!! Very disturbing.

I was coming out of the Animal Dermatology Clinic, which by the way their incredible, and noticed a young lady coming out of the rear entrance of the Shane Veterinary Clinic. I asked her about teeth cleaning and some general question about the facility she work for. She was great and helpful, I then walked into the clinic only to find the receptionist on the phone. She never once bothered after several minutes of me standing there with my dog to put the call on hold for a minute to see what I needed. After about 10 minutes of standing waiting, I walked out to never return. I cannot tell you about the Doctor, but if they allow this type of treatment then what goes on in the back!!

I began visiting Shane Veterinary Clinic three years ago when I moved to Santa Monica from Atlanta, Georgia. It was near my apartment, but more important, it was clean, the staff was friendly and caring, and the vets were first-rate. After moving across town to Pasadena, I searched in vain for a vet clinic even half as good as Shane. Its a long drive, but I decided to keep taking my beloved 9-year-old dachshund to Shane for his check-ups, dentals and other health concerns. I also board him there whenever I go out of town. He loves it, and I know hell get loving care in my absence.

I take both of my dogs to Shane and have been extremely happy with the care they recieve. My large dog has always had a lot of anxiety at the vet office however this is the first office she has felt comfortable in. The doctors are knowledgeable and happy to explain things clearly to you. They do not push unnecessary vaccinations or medications on you and your pet which is also something I value highly.

The past couple times Ive been here, the vet attempts to tack on 4-6 additional items that are unnecessary and are only meant to make money. I just took my dog in for a (possible) ear infection. They tried to charge me $470 for the visit!! It is ridiculous and insulting, Ive been coming here for 3 years and will not be back again.

I had a great Veterinary clinic in Dallas so I was very nervous coming here. Im happy to say the entire staff is so helpful and weve received excellent care. They also carry Just For Dogs pet food which is my Maltipoos favorite. The only downside is they dont have a grooming studio to make it a one stop shop.

dr. shanes practice wins best of the west side awards and such for good reason. unlike the dispassionate, often phoned-in corporate care of VCA its nice to bring our pets to a place that feels a little more like the practitioners really care for the animal and want to do whats best.

I brought my cat in. The doctor ran tests but missed what I later found should have been obvious and totally preventable. 4 weeks later with an expensive ER visit, I had to put my cat to sleep. So upsetting considering it was 100% preventable.
