Worst experience with the offices unethical billing practice. Before the appointment I saw online complaints about the office’s billing, but thought we were protected since we have medical insurance. However, I had no idea the ordeal we would go through to try and use our insurance benefits. Even though we presented our insurance card, the office made us pay an extremely overpriced charge the first visit. Then after the visit, they used multiple excuses about not taking our insurance. We tried appeals with our insurance company, but Dr. Bold’s office then said we never provided our insurance card. I would encourage any potential patients to make sure to write your insurance information on the patient intake sheet (even though there was no question for this on our form). We notified the California Board of Optometry of our negative experience.

Terrible experience. Absolutely hated it. Dr.Bold got my prescription incorrect. But on the first time I checked in I ordered a pair of glasses and a pair of contacts. Then we came back the week after and the lady at the front desk told us that she never ordered the contacts even though we ordered them, and keep in mind the contacts cost 300 bucks. She told us that that was for the testing of the lens. 300 bucks for testing lens? Sounds like bs to me. And their glasses are also terribly overpriced, you can say the same for the contacts as well. Though I wanted to retake my prescription she kept trying to talk me out of it by saying that I would get used to it and what not. BEWARE! THEY ARE A TERRIBLE SERVICE.

Incredibly unethical. Family went here for about 2 years, and Dr. Bold found numerous excuses to change our prescriptions ever so slightly every time, resulting in $$$$ thousands of dollars spent on upgraded contacts, eyeglasses, reading glasses, etc. This last time, he completely screwed up my glasses to the point where I couldnt see properly, and I had to take them elsewhere to get the prescription corrected. He will couch every change in terms of medical necessity, and manipulate you into buying by not showing you how much it costs until afterward. Its a scam. BUYER BEWARE! We made the mistake, but are now aware and will never go back.

This is the worst optometrist Ive been to. The doctor is ok. The staff is dishonest, pushy, and inexperienced in their profession. Irene should sell Hyundais, shes very pushy. Their selection of frames are basically for the elderly and lack style. They are definitely very very overpriced. I was told that they used my insurance but after checking with my insurance company, they did not. Who pocketed the money??? that I paid for a pair of expensive glasses?? The wait is long and the office is run very unprofessionally.

What a great experience by husband and I had visiting Dr. Bold for our eyeglasses! Ive got to admit I was a bit nervous and my husband hadnt been to an eye doctor in years. But, Dr. Bold made it a pain-free experience and he explained everything so we came away with a better understanding of what was going on with our eyes. It was my husbands first time to get bi-focals, and we are so happy with the glasses we got. Thanks to Dr. Bold and his friendly, helpful staff! SKETCHY. OUTDATED EQUIPMENT. BORDERLINE UN-SANITARY. THEY CHARGE ASTRONOMICAL PRICES FOR CONTACT LENS FITTINGS AND FIT YOU IN "CUSTOM CONTACTS" THAT ARE UNAVAILABLE ONLINE AND ARE VERY $$$. IRENE IS PUSHY, GIVES LITTLE INFORMATION, AND HAS A USED CAR SALESMAN TATIC WITH HER SALES APPROACH. DO NOT GO HERE AS YOU WILL END UP GOING TO ANOTHER MORE LEGIT OFFICE. WILL BE REPORTING THEM TO OPTOMETRY BOARD AND HEALTH DEPARTMENT. STAY AWAY.

Very thorough. I wasnt happy to change my old eye doctor when my insurance coverage changed but I am now. Weve been through a few who I thought were pretty good but wow... Dr. Bold and his staff were amazing to us. So kind. Takes his time but they get glasses done fast and great selections. Totally meant to be for me. Nice office, great optometrist and great staff. Thanks so much for helping me through my insurance hell too!

From the moment you walk in you are dealing total pros.Dr. Bold & all of the staff are so nice and really attentive to my needs. I couldnt ask for a better treatment from a professional than I got here. I felt like a star when I was there the way the ladies helped treated me in picking out the frames I needed and then rushed to get me everything when I needed them. The best of the best!!!!!!!!!

If I could give a no star review I would. This place has the worst business ethics, took a month for them to release my contact lens Rx then they made the Rx so I could only buy from them. I was also over charged on the original bill, the staff is rude and the equipment is from the 80s and probably havent been cleanw.... Dont go stay away ...

I share others opinion of this place being the worst. The staffs are dishonest and will try to rip you off by charging over $100 just for a setup fee. And the female staff tried to push me to purchase a pair of glasses for almost $350 WITH the insurance! Dont ever go to this place!!

Dr.Bolds staff is so nice. They accommodated my elderly 91 year old mother and my work schedule. I was afraid Id have to take a day off of work, but the staff there made it work. Dr. Bold had a lot of patience with my elderly mother

Long waiting and overpriced! The doctor is nice, but the staff is the worst. My appointment was at 11:30AM, and I got to see the doctor around 2:30PM. I went a different doctor, and they charge about $100 less for the same exam.

I had a perfect visit to Dr. Bolds office. He really took care of me and my 6 year old son as well. Very helpful and knowledgeable. Great selection of frames and contacts were just right. 10 STARS!
