Im 55 & thought that since I spend alot of time in the sun & my skin texture & appearance was changing that it might be prudent to have a check up so if there were any red flags they might be caught early. I had questions about skin tags, moles, "sun spots", clear moles & scaling skin. I wanted to understand what was what & be proactive about my skin care. I especially wanted to make sure there was no questionable possible melanoma developing. The week before I had my appointment, my General practitioner had frozen off 2 moles & shaved off 3 others that were causing me problems (catching on clothes). This is the issues I had with the dermatology people: 1)I had requested a full body check, because there are places I just cant see! 2)I was not asked my preference for a male or female Dr. 3) when asked by the questioner (prior to the Dr coming in) what my concerns were & what I desired, I was clear: I wanted a whole body check & to discuss skin care options, especially facial skin care options, AND I let them know that I recently had moles removed. 4) When the Dr came in, he was a He. My fault for not asking. It was wrong of me to assume that because my primary care office was all women & the dermatologist was working out of that office, & had an Asian name (as do my primary caregivers) that he would be a woman. 5) the Dr asked me why I had concerns & quickly brushed them aside. He did not check on the moles that had been removed. He did not ask if they had been biopsied. He ever so briefly looked at 2 or so moles with a flashlight, stood back & declared that I had nothing to be concerned about. I am a very freckly person with alot of "sun spots" & alot of moles, so it seemed odd that he was so cursory. As much as I didnt want a full body check by a man, I was resolved to have it since I was paying for the visit. So I was confused & mentioned the removed moles (still healing) & other skin things on my body that I was ignorant of what they were.He was not interested & said they were just___ & ________. He was not interested in giving me more information & was surprised that I wanted to DO something about them. His answer was : there is nothing to do. As to my inquiries about the up keep of my facial skin, he said that there were many expensive things on the market that I could use but that simply moisturizing was the thing to do. NO recommendations for my skin type, nothing helpful at all. My conclusion : He didnt seem to know very much at all and I certainly did not get a check up. I dont have great insurance. The cost of the visit was $99 ! I want to know what kind of expertise I was paying for ,as he did less my G.P. had already done. I came out of the so called :"exam" feeling stupid & humiliated. Should I have demanded a complete skin check ? Even so, Would I have believed anything the Dr said ?

If this rating was based solely on the doctor it would be 5 stars however being as it is for the whole entire office not so much. Dr Chambers was quick and thorough with diagnosis, & treatment. The intake person, Im not sure of the proper title of the position. Completely incompetent the doctor explained what she was going to prescribe and then there was no order placed in the computer I called back after it was not sent to the pharmacy they told me that I would have to make another appointment to come in because it had not been added in at the time of the visit. I tried to explain what had happened they would not allow me to speak with the doctor, nor would they speak with her to find out what she had originally meant to be ordered from the pharmacy, then told me that I would have to make another appointment to come in and have the doctor resubmit the order that the intake person had forgot, wasnt listening or just plainly dropped the ball. The error was going to cost more time off from work, my son more time out of school, time, and money to make another trip where it shouldnt have been necessary. Needless to say my son has not received the proper treatment, due to rhetoric

The doctor knew what was wrong immediately and prescribed me a cream that actually worked. After suffering from wrong prescriptions for almost a year. They gave me relief finally. Fast service and punctual on their appointments. No long waiting time

I have been Dr. Yens patient for 1 year now, and he is extremely capable. His diagnostics are quick, and the microsurgeries I had are all done perfectly.

I have been a patient of Dr. Yens for the last 8 years. He is very thorough & knowledgeable. After many surgeries, I am relatively scar free.
