After suffering for two days from an intense migraine and TMJ pain caused by clenching, I went to see Dr. Montalvo. She gave me a very thoughal exam and recommend Botox injections. Prior to our conversation I was unaware that Botox was used to treat TMJ pain. I have a custom bite splint, which is different from a night guard, and even that wasnt helping to stop me from clenching. I was admittedly desperate to stop the pain. I was apprehensive at the thought of injections but I reasoned that anything would be better than continuing to experience the suffering caused by my migraines. The Botox injections were painless, my flu shot hurt more. I did not notice any immediate changes. Within 10 minutes the injection sites on my face had returned to normal. One one looking at me would have any idea that I had an injection. I appreciated how gentle Dr. Montalvo was with me. She listened to all of my concerns and encouraged me to ask question, she even told me to call her if I had more questions. I appreciated the time she spent with me and how she made me feel important. The post-op instructions were easy enough to follow, no exercise or aspirin for the next few days. Later that night I noticed my jaw muscles hurt a little bit, that soreness continued for two days. All in all the discomfort from the injections was very slight. It has now been three days since I received the injections and I have noticed that I do not clench as tightly as before. Most importantly my migraine is gone! Dr. Montalvo shared that I wouldnt feel the full effects for two weeks and the treatment should last three months until I need another Botox injection. I am hopeful that the migraines wont return.

I found Dynamic Dental through my dental insurance. I was hunting for a close office that took my insurance because I had been in pain for some time and decided to take care of it. I called and spoke to Lily on a day when they were closed, and asked if they were good with fearful patients. I had not had very good luck in the past with any dentists, and therefore avoided them. Lily assured me, and we set an appointment. I called later to ask what I could do for the pain since it was awhile until the appointment. She made an earlier one so I could see Dr. Andrade, and he made a plan to relieve my immediate pain, including helping me get through my initial fear so I could get the procedures done. On my appointment day, Dr. Andrade and my hygenist Kim made sure that I was totally comfortable (as much as could be with your mouth open for so long), and made extra sure that I felt no pain. Everyone that I met in the office was wonderful. I am 4 days since my procedures, and only have slight gum irritation pain (I dont even need to take an OTC meds). If you have not been for a long time, or never been, this is an office that will take care of you. They are experts at handling fearful patients, and simply want you to have a happy and healthy smile!

I have recently switched over to Dynamic Dental for my dental procedures. Dr Andrade and Dr Montalvo are awesome people and great dentists. I had Dr Montalvo do Botox on my temples after telling her about my horrible headaches. After that Botox procedure my headaches almost completely went away. In my last dental treatment she talked to me about my severe TMJ problems Ive been having and mentioned that Botox injection in to my lower jaws to loosen the muscle tissue. Decided to go for it since nothing else really worked. It helped tremendously and I do not have the popping now or soreness in the jaw and my face actually looks thinner. She did a great job and no pain:)
