Wow, stay away from this place! After speaking in great detail to a receptionist who assured me I would be able to arrange a payment plan not only for tooth extraction but also for the panoramic x-ray they insist you have, as well as the initial consultation; I showed up on the day of my appointment for consult just to be told that there was no payment plan option. It started with the extremely rude and unprofessional receptionist. who chastised me immediately upon walking in for not being at the right spot for the line (though I was the only person there), and then taking my information and telling me that I would owe $198 before proceeding further, I was kind of blown away by the condescending attitude expressed by this lovely person when I told her I did not have that money on that day. The reason I chose this place was because I was assured it was affordable and that I would be able to arrange payments for ALL SERVICES. When I dared to protest a security guard approached me. I then asked to speak to their financial representative and was shown to his office. Again, rude and unprofessional in his demeanor and not caring that I had taken off time from work for this appointment and more importantly THAT I HAD BEEN LIED TO! I was then walked out by the security guard but it doesnt matter, I swear never to return to this place again. Unfortunate in that I am a social worker who can provide numerous referrals for them but these people do not care! Lack of compassion seems to be the standard at this place. Stay away, and if you do go, be prepared to be talked down to as they attempt extortion!!

The Doctors, both student doctors and instructors (who work with "student doctors" on EVERY patient = truly excellent care) as well as ALL of the staff are fabulous!!!! In my experience; everyone there goes above and beyond AND their professionalism is top shelf, as well. Im in the middle of getting a complete mouth restoration so Im spending A LOT of time in their dental chairs and working with support staff on matters like dealing with insurance, setting lots of appointments, etc!!! All of that said; I still cannot say enough good things about UCSF Buchanan Dental!!!! You wont be disappointed!!!
