(3/31/09) READ ALL BEFORE TAKING YOUR PET HERE. After searching online like crazy trying to find a location where I would find affordable neutering for my 1 year old male DSH. I came upon several links saying they would refer you to low cost locations. I called Actors & Others & was referred to this location. I called, neutering seemed much cheaper than what I had paid for another male 1 year old Tuxedo. The charge was $30 for neutering & $14 for 2 vaccines (including Rabies). Not bad right? At VCA in Santa Anita I had paid $89 for neutering. NOT including vaccines. PLUS a week after I went back for vaccines & was a total of about $30 for 2 vaccines (I have to go back in mid April for the last dosage of a vaccine) I took my cat today. I wasnt at all comfortable with the facility. The care. The knowledge. The helpfulness. The facility looks so run down, so old & outdated. Poorly clean, dark. The location is just odd, no parking. As we came in through the 2nd entrance located in the back, the kennels where they keep the pets horrible! So tiny, crowded in, dirty looking. It seemed more like a storage room and not sanitary at all. They had stuff stored in there while there was pets in there!! The rooms for surgeries, etc were dark as well, out dated. Like they werent properly cleaned. Also seemed like they used it to store things. They had only one "examination" room. Also looked like another crappy storage room rather than an actual examination room. Completely messy looking. Did we see the actual DVM performing the castration? NOPE. If anything we were helped by this lady that did not seem professional at all. With double piercing on her right eyebrow. Wasnt fully knowledgeable of much details. We were told not to feed our cat from the previous day 9pm. They dont "hold" your pet nicely. Our cat was grabbed by the neck skin flap (as the mothers do when their kittens) & our cat was just hanging down. Its bad enough our cat was scared but to handle him like that?! We asked all the Qs we could. We felt uncomfortable leaving him there. (but since Im on disability and a college student I am on an extremely tight budget) When I went to pick him up at 4pm or so, she charged me. $44, not bad. Wasnt helpful with flea products. I asked for vaccination records & castration records. She didnt think we needed one! I had to ask to get the paper work for my records. She went & handed me my cat, once again grabbing him by the neck just hanging down! There was a total of only 3 employees there. None seemed like they were properly trained to work with pets. Did I do research on the place, of course! Just like I do with any other thing. All reviews from different sites claimed the place was great, & the staff too. O_o are we talking about the same place?! I know with this economy its bad to spend a lot & we do the best that we can to stretch out our money, but I would have rather taken him to another location (VCA if I had too) were I knew that they were doing a great job & were careful about what they did. My cat is part of the family, I worry about his care. I recommend looking into another location than this one. Were you know its worth it & you wont be worrying whether your pet was not taken care of right, was in a kennel that was a storage room etc. Spend a little more for a better location. I am disappointed that Actors & Others has a location this poorly (Not to mention I had to drive about 25 minutes away from my house!)

Price is the strongest point. Ive been to more than half-dozen vets in the past year. I was taking advantage of initial free check-up to evaluate the clinics. Id even gone to two separate clinics in a single day. I found most vets lacking in giving a thorough examination and explanation. This vet was average and certainly not the best. At another clinic, I saw one vet that was amazing, so I know what a good vet is like. Eventually, I let this clinic remove some teeth from my Maltese. On a scale, Valley ranks in the middle. I did not find the facility dirty at all. I do find it old, so if you dont like old, go somewhere else and pay double or more. The doctor seemed reasonably concerned for the dog, again I rank them about middle. I had little interaction with the staff. This was not the best clinic I visited, but the best clinic charged perhaps triple what Valley charges. I will definitely go back, because I simply dont have the money to pay for absolute premium veterinary services. This doctor missed a slight heart murmur that some other vets reported. Usually, ones first impression of a vet or clinic can be misguided, so choosing a vet is somewhat a gamble anyway. I recommend this clinic, but having only been there a couple of times, I will be continually evaluating them. I give them four stars because of the nice price for services and adequate service.

I admit the facility is old and out-dated. But their heart is in the right place and their prices are VERY reasonable. Ive been taking my two dogs there for the last 3 years. I stumbled upon the place by accident and was pretty put off at first. But they warm up to you quickly and from that point on they always remembered my pets names and their individual personalities. Its great for vaccinations and routine stuff. Ive had my dogs teeth cleaned there and that was fine. Also had warts removed from my dogs gum area. I would definitely be comfortable with stuff like that. BUT for more complex procedures, I would probably go somewhere that has better technology and more experienced staff.

We were referred to Valley for a vaccination for our dog. We really like our regular vet, but they were closed for vacation and we needed to get our dogs rabies shot done to renew his dog license. The smell of the clinic was awful! It was also dirty, old, run-down and dark. For a quick rabies shot, they were fine I guess, but I wouldnt trust them with the care of any of my animals past that.

I love this place because the staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. When we brought our furry friend atticus, they did their best to help him with his skin allergy. They have very reasonble prices. I highly recommend this clinic to everyone who needs to take his or her furry baby to the doctor.

Dont go to this vet, these people doesnt open on Tuesdays, Wednesday, and Sunday. I went to go to the vet on Tuesday because of my dogs throat problem. And they werent open, so I had to sit at home and watch my dog suffer for the whole night just because they werent open on Tuesday.

Ive been bringing my pets for over 8 years. I am very happy. Cheryl is very multi task lady and even when gruffy she is the best. The Doctor is attentive and patient. Ok to ask him questions. I enjoy my visits to this very homey clinic.
