One star is too much. Our experience with this animal hospital has been quite an ordeal. We took our young dog there for lethargy, pain and loss of appetite...Doing a quick search on the web, we were almost certain she had acquired lime disease. Dr. Nasser did the initial exam. We wanted to rule out physical injury and or ingestion of poison or foreign objects being that our dog/ pup is fairly young. Dr. Nasser told us that she was obviously in pain, and they would run blood tests and run xrays. I wanted her to be kept overnight for observation..We were told to call the next day at 10am to schedule the pick up and consult. I called and was told to pick up our pet at 12:30. At 11:45am I received a call from Dr. Pavlik with great concern that our dog had an elevated fever and was dehydrated. ( so why was she kept over night? ) Its called OBSERVATION! Dr. Pavlik told me that she needed an IV and antibiotics (of which we were told would be administered initially), and suggested we leave her overnight again. I cant believe that her condition would change in such short of time. Keep in mind we already received a bill for $350.00.. For the exam and one night stay. I asked Dr. Pavlik to provide me with an estimate... He said it would be another $400.00. I then told him that would I be stopping by right away to visit my dog. when I get there I wasnt greeted or acknowledged...On the contrary, The nurses scurried to alert the doctor.. I asked to let me see my pet. One assistant asked me to wait due to the doctor performing sugery. Im thinking....what does that have to do with alowing me see my pet? then she asked me wait in one the exam rooms because Dr .Pavlik was to speak to me. After 15 minutes I asked what was taking soo long, she then asked me to wait in another exam room( the one furthest away from the kennels) after another 20 minutes , Dr Pavlik comes in and trys to refeed me the same information ... After telling him that "WE dont have any more money" he asks me to wait again!!! Final after about an hour, I was accompanied to the kennel area. Oh My God!! Its a freezer box and not kept clean. My baby was kept in a cold dirty cage with nothing more that a dirty towel to keep her warm. It was obvious that she had just received her IV. The blood around the catheter was fresh which tells me that they never administered the IV until I had arrived and asked to see her. All staff there were very suspicious and unfriendly..I immediately asked them to cease all treatment and i took my baby home. I can not belive they run such a place and even allowed to. I am so dissapointed with them and will use every power and influence I have to alert all new and existing customers of their in-compassionate treatment of patients and the patient owners..They clearly use a bait and switch technique to fleece their customers of hundreds of dollars at a time. They have one doctor tell you one thing, then another to prey on your concern for your pet to get more money from you. We were taken advantage of and the entire operation there stinks and reeks of fraud. If any one out there is willing to take legal action, please contact me and I am willing to participate and or assist. By the way, They refused to let me see xrays...After I paid over $1200.00 for them.

Front desk staff Lori is just out right rude, and seems to forget that her job is to provide customer service. I called Community Companion on behalf of my critically ill mother to get price quotes, and to verify if certain vaccinations are "required" before the cat is neutered. Lori seemed to have trouble answering my direct questions. She was making sounds (not spoken words) over the phone implying that certain vaccinations should be done. Lori said, "Well, they typically like to have all the vaccinations current" and I replied, "but is it required." After Lori made some more sound effects, and told me that all vaccinations are required for boarding (information I did not inquire about). I asked Lori for a third time if there are "required" vaccinations before getting the cat neutered, and then she said yes, rabies and FeLV. I clarified if this is policy or personal feeling, she said it was policy. Lori proceeded to tell me with an attitude that they (Community Companion) told her (my mother) to come back the next day to get the cat neutered, and she (my mother) never came back, and hasnt come back since she got the cat from them. I told Lori that my mother had a stroke, so what do you expect her to do. Loris response, "Well, we wouldnt have known that. I replied, "thats why you need to reel in your attitude. Why do you think someone is calling to get prices for services? Obviously Im looking into having certain services done... We are picking up our pets files later today to go to another vet. Another incident was with Dr Tsugawa. My husband took our cat (adult male Maine Coon) to the vet due to a respiratory infection. The cat was sneezing and had a running nose. My husband got a same day appointment. The office called my husband to see if they can push up the appointment time and my husband agreed. He made arrangements to leave work early. My husband arrived on time for his appointment but had to wait for over a hour to be seen. Tsugawa came out to the front desk to apologize for the delay, and started to complain that she is going to miss seeing a symposium. Come to find out that the whole reason for rescheduling was she wanted to attend a symposium. When Tsugawa came into the exam room she acted like she couldnt even move the cat. She asked my husband to take him out of the carrier, move the cat to the table, reposition the cat for her. Tsugawa gave my husband attitude because the cat was 18lbs, and was acting like she needed a forklift to move our fur ball around to do a basic examination. Average weight for an adult Maine Coon is 17lbs. Then Tsugawa took advantage of my husband buy prescribing medications for symptoms my cat was not displaying. I felt like Tsugawa was upset that she couldnt attend the symposium, and that her appointments ran passed her regular time so she financially took it out on my husband. Dr Pavlik agreed that I can return the unopened medications, and we would be refunded. Another incident. Cant for certain blame Community Companion but we boarded our Maine Coon in Dec 2016 (he did have health issues) and he died in their care. So...yeah. We are done with this place

INHUMANE MONSTERS!!!! Never take your animals here if they have to be put to sleep. Just to clarify, I am an animal lover who will sit for months to try and nurse an animal back to health, and having an animal put down should only be resorted to when the animal is in severe pain. Most of my pets/ friends have passed away naturally. But there were two cases where I did take my animals here to be put down here. Both times they only gave my animals one injection, the death mixture, and in both cases my animals (a dog-17 and cat-21 who were completely incapacitated from old age, weakness and pain) bucked and fought to get up while the mixture was pumped through their veins. I just recently had to have another animal put down (she was dying naturally, but she began to cry out in pain and after several hours of this, it was too much to bear), so I took her into our regular vet (Dean Watanabe- truly amazing animal lover). He administered a numbing injection first, waited a couple of minutes and then administered the other injection. He explained the numbing injection was to calm them and also numb them, not only to the pain they were suffering, but to the pain of the injection which stops their heart (like a heart attack). So I began researching this online and talked to other people I know who have had other animals put to sleep and I found that the 2 injection way is not only more humane, but very common. Also, with talking to others, I found that at this vet they charged the same amount (and in some cases more) for just the one injection, where others got the 2- SO THEY ARE NOT ONLY CRUEL BUT GREEDY TOO!!!
