Curtner Pet Clinic is a veterinary clinic located in San Jose, California. The clinic has garnered a rating of 4.7 and offers a range of services for pets. It operates from 8 AM to 8 PM on weekdays and has different timings for the weekend. While the clinic does not perform major surgeries, it does offer a wide array of other treatments.
Several customers have praised the clinic for its compassionate and professional care. The doctors, Dr. Post and Dr. Dajwan, are often cited for their kindness and expertise. One customer mentioned that the clinic was their choice after comparing prices for dental cleaning, which was significantly cheaper at Curtner Pet Clinic. Another customer appreciated the clinic's approach to treating their stray cat, offering weekly follow-ups until the cat was back to good health.
However, not all experiences have been positive. Some customers have raised concerns about the clinic's services. Issues range from botched surgeries to lack of responsibility in critical cases. One customer mentioned that the clinic failed to diagnose a rare form of brain cancer in their dog, which was later identified by another vet. Another customer complained about a botched tail docking procedure.
The clinic has been described as more expensive compared to other veterinary clinics but offers quality care. The staff is praised for their communication skills, ensuring that there is no loss of information if you happen to see different doctors on different occasions.
The clinic is also involved in various animal causes and does pro-bono work. The waiting room features cards of thanks and photographs from happy clients, adding a personal touch to the clinic's environment.
Curtner Pet Clinic seems to offer a blend of quality care and community involvement but has room for improvement in some areas, as indicated by the mixed customer reviews.

Our dog is a rescue who, after eight years with us, is still skittish around men she does not know. Therefore, we were stunned when we first took her to Curtner Pet Clinic and she immediately responded to Dr. Post. We found Curtner Pet Clinic after researching veterinary clinics in our area. The place we were taking our smallish dog wanted $725 to clean her teeth. At Curtner the cost was just a bit over $400 and the service was excellent. Curtner Pet Clinic became our regular veterinary clinic. Both doctors - Dr. Post and Dr. Dajwan are kind, gentle souls whose love for animals is apparent from the start. Their assistant, Orlando, is wonderful. He cares so much about the animals and is also a very kind and gentle person. Be aware that they do not do major surgery but they do treat everything else. The wall in the waiting room is filled with cards of thanks and photographs of happy clients. In addition, two rescue cats live in the office, the doctors do pro-bono work and volunteer for various animal causes. In closing, we highly recommend Curtner Pet Clinic. We told our neighbors about Dr. Post and Dr. Dajwan when they first got their dog. They tried this place after going to a different clinic and they, like us, are very happy clients.

Terrible!!!! Because of cost, my family has been going to this Pet Clinic. Not only did one of the technicians totally mess up on the tail docking of one of our dogs, they didnt give us a rabies tag when our dog got their rabies shot and when of our dogs started to exhibit odd behavior, their only suggestion was to continue to give our dog steroids. We wanted a second opinion so we took the dog to another vet and they found out that our dog had a rare form of brain cancer. Lastly, my mothers dog, who has been going to this clinic for a year or so, had a liter of puppies, we asked for help in supporting the dog and the puppies. I called to ask questions about what to do and they said to read stuff on the internet because they were busy. This clinic is terrible and find yourself technicians who are willing to do better for your pet.

I switched to Curtner Pet Clinic from a previous vet clinic and it was the best decision for my dog! Curtner Pet Clinic is warm, welcoming, and the doctors gently handle your pet with care and compassion. My dog was no longer terrified of walking into a doctors office, and most importantly he didnt bark and cower in fear of the doctor! Aside from that, CPC was quite a bit more pricey than my previous clinic, but it was well worth it. The doctors Post and Dadwal (as well as the rest of the staff) are both very knowledgeable and they make sure to share information with you so that you know exactly what is going on. They also communicate with each other so there is no loss of information should you see both of them on different occasions. All in all, this clinic has been consistently great in care, communication, and compassion.

Dr. Dadwal and the Curtner Pet Clinic staff exhibited the utmost care and compassion when I brought my elderly pet in for emergency attention. I was there on an early Saturday morning without an appointment nor were we regular patients. The staff was quick to provide a room for my pet and I. Dr. Dadwal kindly provided consultation and clear explanation of my options. His kind demeanor and choice of gentle words gave me the courage and assurance I needed to make the final choice to euthanize my aging pet. I am forever grateful for my luck that morning as I randomly selected the nearest clinic to quickly bring my pet to. Dr. Dadwal and the Curtner Pet Clinic staff are truly wonderful. When I am ready for my next pet, we will be returning to Curtner Pet Clinic as regular patients.

They botched my dogs surgery and didnt take responsibility for it. I confirmed several times before sending her in that they knew where the hernia was that they were suppose to repair during her spay surgery and they confirmed yes they were going to fix it. I pick her up and they forgot to fix it! They tried to say they didnt think it needed to be fixed but they could have called me during if that was the case to update me and talk about it. They were the ones that said when she was a puppy that it should be taken care of. Now I have to put her under the knife for another surgery to get it fixed. If you love your pet go somewhere that will get it right the first time and at the very least take responsibility when they mess up.

In May/2016 I took in a stray cat (now named Leona). The great staff at Curner Pet Clinic confirmed she was chipped and helped me adopt Leona from her former owner. They gave her a thorough checkup and prescribed treatment for infection in both eyes, lesions around her lips, and dry and bleeding paw pads. Leona visited CPC for weekly (no charge) follow-ups until she was back to good health. Today Leonas a fun, frisky and bright 3 year old enjoying a new life as a house kitty whos learning to walk on a lead. The solid and caring treatment that Leona received from CPC has confirmed CPC as her primary care veterinarian.

I have been taking my animals here for three years now, first my elderly cat and now a young adult cat and a mischevious puppy. The staff is exceptionally friendly. They go above and beyond to accommodate their clients, they are empathetic, patient, and caring. I wouldnt go anywhere else. Their hours are great, and their location is super convenient. I love that they explain everything, I never feel confused about what I am paying for. Best of all, they take the time to get to know your pet to personalize their care. Thank you guys :)

This is the third vet Ive tried out, and I think this ones a winner for me. They are much more affordable than other vet clinics, but at the same time, theres no compromise in the quality of care. I was very satisfied with the care my dog (Howie) received from Dr. Dadwal and his staff. If anything, the care was even better than what I got at a more expensive clinic. I dont think it gets much better than quality and affordability combined. We will definitely return. Keep it up CURTNER!!!!

Took our 5 cats in for checkup and shots. Everyone was so nice. 1 cat had to have teeth removed a few days later. They called to let me know she was sedated and doing fine. Calked again to get ok found another tooth needed pulling. Called when done to say everything went fine. Dr. called the next day to see how she was doing. They gave me 1/2 0ff everything 0n 4 cats and a great price on 7 extrations. Was happy to know they took Care Credit also. Great Drs. and staff.

Ive been taking my pets to Curtner Pet Clinic for over a year after moving to San Jose. Years of a wonderful vet in my former hometown had made me nervous, but luckily I found Curtner Pet Clinic! The vets and staff are all wonderful. They have a professional and compassionate approach, there are appointments readily available at a variety of hours (including after work!), and they take great care of my pets. I couldnt ask for more!
