The first time I went to F&IMC, it was around November of 2015 and I was the sickest Ive been in a long time. I had no problems with this visit, but I think a lot has changed since then. The receptionists I talked to when I visited yesterday were absolutely rude, and I was being nothing but kind to both of them because I understand that working on a nice day is not fun. Then when I went to see the doctor for a very common yet still urgent skin issue, I knew more than he did. I showed him my problem and told him about it, then he sat down and pulled out his phone to look up what was going on with me. I couldnt believe what I was seeing. Now, I know that doctors are typically subscribed to a medical catalog that they can pull up that generally has more info than available to the public, but this really rubbed me the wrong way. I let the receptionist and nurse both know what was going on with me, so he could have at least looked it up before coming in to see me to ease my nerves a little bit. I basically told him what he needed to prescribe me from my own research (sites like Mayo clinic, also both of my boyfriends parents are doctors but they could only give advice since they live in Oregon), and he then proceeded to tell me that the medicine I needed was very toxic to my body and is riddled with side affects. While that may be true, that is absolutely not the way you go about telling a patient of their treatment. I went to F&IMC for answers, and instead left feeling more unsure than I was when I went in and more worried about my health. If you want to see actual doctors who know what theyre doing, please go someplace else. Im out $74 dollars for advice I didnt even take because of the ignorance behind it. While I was in the waiting room to be called, I actually was telling my boyfriend that I didnt know why F&IMC had such terrible reviews online. After this visit, I completely understand now. I dont know why they changed out their staff for people that are less competent and friendly, but I do know that I will not be returning here if I can help it.

Funny that I recognize two of the 5 star posters as employees at this place! WTF This place is horrible in terms of care. I was ordered an MRI a month ago and Im still waiting for the doctor respond with the results. The lab told me they sent over the results the same day! WTF And I was told by the receptionist, Sandra, that its my responsibility to make sure that they receive the results. WTF! I called 3 days ago requesting my prescription change due to side effects. They told me that the doctor would call me right back. Ive called everyday since and hear the same line from them. WTF! Really??! professionalism completely escapes the people employed at this place.

The medical care here is great, but can often have long wait times for folks without appointments. Unfortunately, this medical office doesnt care about you as a person. Why? Because they will turn you into collections without ever trying to reach you. Instead of picking up the phone and trying to reach their clients, they would rather pass the work off to a collections agency, who will hit your credit if you miss their notices. Long story short... decent medical care, but horrible billing department.

Wonderful! I have been a patient here for 19 years and have always had excellent care. I have had many serious health problems as well as some minor ones. I have had many procedures here and have been referred to the best specialists for specific care. I have always been involved in my care and have been treated with the greatest respect. The staff are friendly, helpful, and very professional. I highly recommend Family & Industrial Medical Center for all your medical needs!

Ive had nothing but good experiences with this clinic and the staff. I am a patient here but there have been times that Ive had to come in as an urgent care patient. Considering the length of time you wait at a hospital the wait times Ive had were not bad at all, 30-45 min at the most. And as a patient, the doctors, nurses and assistants have all taken the time to listen to what is ailing me. They have displayed concern for my well being.

absolutely terrible in response and in order to ask about a prescription, you have to pay an additional fee rather than having them call you back. Ive already called three times with no response. Im actually under Kaiser and this was an emergency urgent care in SLO since im a student. Their a disaster, go across the street.

They used to be pretty good, but their quality has really deteriorated in the last year or two.
