I got a Yorkie that has the most severe case of allergies theyd ever seen. She was a rescue who had gone to a Vet in Yorba Linda for her whole life. I originally continued to take her to that vet, and was charged hundred of dollars over several visits to finally have the vet tell me, "Shes a special needs dog, and theres nothing else I can do. Shell always be miserable." After becoming desperate to find anyone who would work with me to help my dog, I found Dr. Coglan. He is the most kind, encouraging, and resourceful Vet. Not only did he tell me that her symptoms are problems could be cured, but he is using a combination of natural/diet remedies and minimal prescription dugs. After 1 week on this treatment, its like I have a different dog - shes spunky, and happy and her severe infections have all but cleared. I am astounded. And to top it all off, when it came time to pay our vet bills they were less than a third of what I expected to pay. My jaw literally hit the floor. I would recommend Dr. Coglan to anyone, without reservations of any kind.

17th Street Animal Hospital is the best place to bring your pet. From Dr. Coghlan to the rest of the staff Dr. Vidadi to the front desk Jenny, Abi & Pauline they are all excellent workers that really cares for our beloved pet. They go above & beyond their call of duty to answer all my questions & call even weekend & after hours just the check our Archie who was diagnosed with CHF 5 1/2 years ago. My family were all greatful & thankful that we had that extra 5 1/2 years with our dog who was a big part of our family. Archie left us on 9/24/16 but we still have our other dog "Cotton" that we know will be in good hands because of these great workers. Thanks you very much for everything!!! I will continue to thank God that I had the chance to meet you people.

We found out about 17th Street Animal Hospital from a neighbor. We have used them a few times with our dog Cosmo and recently with our Persian cat Cheeto. Cheeto was 15 and had over one weekend stopped eating, was drooling a lot and had a swollen eye. When the veterinarian examined Cheeto, he found tumors all down his throat and mouth. He told us Cheeto was in a lot of pain. Due to age and possibly feline cancer, we made the difficult decision to put him down. The veterinary assistant said a prayer with our family. They were patient and let us stay as long as we needed, which was way past closing. They were so compassionate and helpful with the loss of our family cat. Would highly recommend. The doctors are great and the staff is so nice.

I just moved to this area and was so excited to find such a wonderful Veterinarian just down the street from me! My cat was bleeding from the mouth and Dr.Coglan took me right away and found a tooth that had come loose. My neighbor told me this was the only place to go to - that he is the best - I agree and I am ecstatic! The staff is great too an the hospital is clean and modern. A big relief for me as a good honest and caring vet is so very hard to find nowadays and I have 3 cats and a dog... I have been to 6 animal hospitals over the years - I wish I had found this one a long time ago! The only problem is that they are busy and it took some time to get my medications but over all VERY worth the wait!

I started taking our golden doodle to Dr. Coghlan three years ago; our dog was having problems with his skin and with his digestion. We had been taking him to dog dermatology experts and an expensive Newport Beach vet who were recommending steroids as a last resort - no one had been able to figure out how to really help him... Dr. Coghlan looked at the same reports that all the other vets had looked at but figured out that our dog couldnt tolerate gluten. We eliminated one ingredient in his diet, and he was a new dog in one feeding. We are so grateful to all the staff at 17th Street Animal Hospital; they are well-worth the drive!

I have been taking my Chihuahua to this facility for close to 4 years now. And now I have a new puppy Ive been bringing here as well. The staff are very courteous and professional. They take the time to listen to my concerns to take care of my pets. They are conservative with their treatments, trying the simplest and least costly methods first. The facility is clean and well staffed. No place is perfect, but the pluses far outweigh any minor issues Ive had here. (minor issues being a bit of a wait or having to reschedule appts.) Overall, I trust this animal hospital with the welfare of my little dogs.

Dr. C and his technician Angelo are great! He right away recognized my dogs problems and, even though I am a big believer in limiting kibble or manufactured dog food, I was so on-board with his Paleo diet. My dog loves it and my neighbor recognized right away the difference in my dog. Ive spent hundreds of $ on teeth cleaning with other vets and when Dr. Cs office did her teeth, she looked like a different dog! My wallet was happy and so are we. Our dog is our baby and under Dr. C, I know she will live healthier longer!

I have been taking my dogs to 17th Street Hospital since Dr. Coghlan first opened his doors. He is the BEST vet ever, so knowledgeable and very compassionate when necessary. Although there are many vets now at this establishment, I still ask for Dr. Coghlan and his intern, Angelos. The entire staff is extremely professional and oh so very kind and helpful. As long as I live nearby I will go no where else. Everyone at 17th Street Hospital rocks! No matter who treats your pet, just know they are in GREAT hands!

Vet Weber is amazing, he saved my poodle from dying after I unknowingly fed her contaminated chicken jerky treats (the whole recall and all back in 2013 when thousands of dogs died). He treated her with shots, performed a fecal test and them gave me food for her to have for two weeks with a powder formula to kill the bacteria in her tummy. She got way better from throwing up and having bad diarrhea to back to normal and all this was under $200 (including consultation, treatment/fecal test, food and powder).

I am very pleased at the service I received here! My shih tzu dog had some stomach problems (shaking, tight tummy, weak, couldnt walk much) and I was able to book an appointment the same day, was seen by the vet in a timely manner, met and spoke to a few of the employees there for various things and they were all very helpful. My dog was diagnosed properly, given some special food and the entire visit was affordable since I do not have pet insurance. Thank you for your help and all you do!

Ive never had a better experience at a vet, than I did with 17th street animal hospital. Dr. Coghlan is THE BEST vet Ive ever encountered. His knowledge and compassion for my dogs have gone far beyond any vet I have ever had. He truly loves animals and wants the best for them. He also never pushes drugs for your pet. He will go the holistic approach first, which is another reason why I think he is the best.
