First and second visits: May 2015 Brought 12lb American Eskimo in to be evaluated for an oral surgery. I recently moved to the area knowing that she had to have teeth removed, and Dr. Cooper and her technicians were prepared to take her as a new patient and treat her teeth immediately. A few weeks later, we scheduled the extraction. The extraction was well executed and thorough. The only improvement I would have had is being informed of what to expect as side effects (she had accidents in the house after the ordeal). Third visit: August 2015 Brought my eskie in for a spay. Price is on the higher end for this procedure, but I gained trust in the staff on my first two visits, so found it a worth while investment. Prior to the operation, my eskie had a seizure (not unexpected for her). Dr. Cooper called me during the seizure to keep me informed, which was much appreciated. However, the first resort to treat the seizure was to dose my eskie with Valium. Having calmed her down from seizures at home by soothing her with petting and cooing, I did not like the use of valium, but the vet was insistent that they had to stop the seizure by all means possible and wouldnt take the risk of waiting it out. After my eskie recovered, Dr. Cooper was MORE than understanding about my insistence to care for her overnight to monitor for another seizure, which I think is very rare from a vet. Instead of leaving my high-anxiety dog in an unknown place overnight, Dr. Cooper and her staff understood the dynamic between my dog and I and allowed me to care for her, after providing after-hours information at a 24-hour hospital. Dr. Cooper took time to explain my eskies condition to me without the usual rushed tone that vets carry on a busy day. The front desk staff makes an effort to remember names of both owner and pet. The facility is very clean with minimal odors (my dog did not cringe when entering the front door, which is a first of the 5 vet offices weve been to so far). I will continue to use this office for my dogs needs.

(Please pardon my mini-novel review) The wife and I were new to Santa Ana and we are blessed to have two wonderful rescue dogs. 1 Black Pure Bred Lab [Joey] & 1 Black Lab/Pit Mix [Annie May]. When we arrived here one of the first tasks we were faced with was to find a Vet that we felt comfortable with. After some Google surrounding area searches and some local review searches we decided to try the OC Vet Med Center. I cannot express how blessed we are in all areas and this was just another one. We know we are led to places with people who care and know how to balance personal care with professional expertise. Annie May was not too friendly with other animals and they made a special effort to assure we would not have to struggle with any unpleasantries. At the same time, they did not make us feel as if we were at any fault for her behavior. As a shelter dog, it has been a slow but progressing process and today has improved tremendously. But back then, we needed people who understood and cared. The service and staff were excellent, the recommendations on how to take care of our babies was spot on and we are ‘in our happy place’ knowing that is one less thing we have to worry about because, to us, there is no other option than to use the OC Vet Med Center. Thanks guys, even these words cannot express our gratitude and appreciation for your treatment of not only our pets, but for us as well. Blake & Cathie Travis

This place has made a major turnaround. They have a new name, a new owner, but the same staff. I was happy to see Eduardo and Sonia and Gabby. They have been there forever. My wife was pretty happy too and the new doctor was great. He explained everything to us, even printed us information. Apparently hes making lots of changes. The xrays were on the computer and he printed out everything we talked about. The prices were slightly higher than before, but not too suprised, because the care was better. I co-own my own shop and I understand better service costs more. This has been the best vet Ive ever gone to. I was ready to leave because the previous vets really sucked when it was Tustin Ave. Glad Dr Horn took over and gave this place a much needed update. Even says on their facebook they are upgrading to a new facility.

The folks at OC Veterinary Medical Center care about you and your pets needs! I feel so comfortable when I take my 100lb German Shepherd Jack Lemon there. The thoughtful layout - with plenty of room for my dog and and other patients, the doggy bathroom just out the door, the quick service and excellent doctors all make for a very positive experience. Dr. Horn has helped Jack tremendously and we both appreciate his vast knowledge about how to care for his special needs. Dr. Horn is well known in the community and that makes a big difference when you are weighing all your options. Thanks OC Veterinary Medical Center! Susan Baldwin

Weve been bringing our dog, Franklin, to OC Vet for boarding any time we need to travel. The staff is ALWAYS courteous, and ALWAYS remembers Franklin. We had a terrible experience with another boarding facility, and its a night & day difference -- Franklin is always happy to go to OC Vet, and is always happy whenever he leaves. The staff is also super accommodating, allowing us to bring Franklins own food, and some of his favorite things to keep him company. I also LOVE that they send a daily text message with a picture so that we can see how hes doing. If I could give more than five stars, I would do it in a hot second!

I was sitting here thinking about how lucky we are to have found Dr Jeffrey Horn Dvm . He and his staff continually provide amazing service. Joanne his groomer is so good with Tug and always squeezes us in even last minute. Margo Perryman his trainer is a wealth of knowledge and kindness. The rest of his staff are friendly and professional. I wish I could list everyones names here. It would be hard to find a more dedicated group of folks. Emmy and I can be a bit demanding and needy but if it bothers them they hide it well. You could never go wrong bringing your pets to Dr Horn and his staff!

We are happy to have found our veterinary home at OC Vet Medical Center. Our three dogs and two cats receive the very best of care, our questions are always answered, and we are treated like family. Furthermore, the office is a one-stop resource center for our pets. Weve used the grooming and training services (both excellent), and would not hesitate to use the boarding services or day care if needed. We highly recommend Dr. Horn, Dr. Murphy, and the entire staff at OC Veterinary Medical Center.

First I want to Thank Dr. Horn for helping Cricket. I had taken her to 2 other vets and told them about her rear leg trembling and the condition was ignored. Dr. Horn immediately began to work her up and came up with a diagnosis and treatment. I already noticed an improvement and it has only been one week. Thank you Dr. Horn. My experience there was pleasant. Everyone was friendly and polite, cost are reasonable also
