I had never received chiropractic care in my 65 years. I went to this center due to serious lumbar stenosis pain to my low back with severe radiculopathy to the posterior of my upper legs. My mobility is minimal and I often use a cane. I recently received treatment from staff chiropractor Taylor Levine at the Newhall office. I indicated that I was having no problems with my neck or mid back. My problems were confined to my low back and back of my upper legs only. I provided a copy of the MRI report and images. In my second and last visit, Dr. Levine applied major pressure to my thoracic spine, which resulted in instant pain to my chest and right sided ribs. The next day, my ribs were very painful. My breathing and coughing were painful there. I called the chiropractic center to terminate my relationship and get a refund for my two visits, which was granted. I had problems getting into a position to sleep due to the pain. Any movement was painful to my ribs. Last Sunday, I went to Kaiser Urgent Care and met with internist Dr. Crawford. Chest x-rays were ordered and he thought there might be a fracture to the 8th rib on my right side. I have just learned that the radiology report did not indicate a fracture. This in no way contradicts my symptoms of major pain to my ribs. Dr. Levine should have only treated my low back. By applying major thoracic pressure on an area that was not at all bothering me has created a new, unnecessary problem. Now I have to deal with chest and right sided rib pain for absolutely no reason. The chiropractic office has confirmed it is reimbursing me fully for the two visits I had. I indicated this was inadequate. The office declined to offer me compensation for what Dr. Levine has put me through. I intend to file a malpractice claim with the carrier for Dr. Unruh. Be very leery of receiving treatment from Dr. Levine. HE HURT ME FOR NO REASON AT ALL--NOTHING TO DO WITH MY PRE-EXISTING LUMBAR STENOSIS. NOW I HAVE TO DEAL WITH RIB PAIN AS WELL. Subsequently, I have spoken with office manager Melissa, who advised she would not release the identity of the medical malpractice carrier for the chiropractic office. She instructed me to obtain an attorney and file a lawsuit. I told her it was none of her business whether or not I obtained an attorney. It is still America with a freedom to choose if I want to represent myself or not.I am also more than surprised than that she would invite a lawsuit rather than simply allowing me to file a malpractice claim. Again, she refused to release the identity of her malpractice carrier. Interestingly, she did not discuss or offer arbitration, which is part of the office generated paperwork signed by the new patient. Their own form provided for arbitration as a means of resolving a dispute, but she said not a word about it. IN OTHER WORDS, FOLKS, IF YOU HAVE A GRIEVANCE AGAINST THIS CHIROPRACTIC OUTFIT, THEY WILL MAKE IT AS DIFFICULT FOR YOU AS POSSIBLE. THEY ARE ALWAYS THERE TO TAKE YOUR MONEY, BUT SEE HOW THEY ARE WHEN THEY INJURE YOU AND YOU WANT COMPENSATION. GOOD LUCK. P.S. MY RIGHT SIDE RIBS STILL HURT COMPLIMENTS OF DR. TAYLOR LEVINE.

I had an ACL sprain in my knee a few months ago. I was also told I had arthritis in my knee, which was causing excruciating pain. This was unbearable and kept me up most nights. After seeing an Orthopedic Surgeon and having Orthovisc injected into my knee, once a week for three weeks, my pain never subsided. Ive been a patient at Unruh Spine Center for years, for chronic back pain. When I mentioned my knee pain to Dr. Unruh, he immediately recommended Shockwave Therapy. We scheduled it once a week for three weeks. After each treatment my knee was slightly sore, but I felt an improvement. By the third treatment I was completely out of pain. Before this, I honestly thought I would need knee replacement surgery. Shockwave Therapy is amazing. Dr. Unruh is a genius. I only wish I had mentioned my knee pain to him earlier, so I wouldnt have wasted so many months limping around and avoiding working out. I respect him and Im impressed with his vast knowledge in his profession. I highly recommend the Unruh Spine Center to anyone who is in pain. Back pain, knee pain, you name it... youll walk out of there feeling great. The staff is also friendly, professional and knowledgeable.

I just wanted to thank you and your office for the great treatment I received for my ankle. I only heard good things about you and your office from both my Mom and brother and to be honest I was thinking to myself (before I came into your office of course) whats all the hype about this guy? As you know I hurt my ankle at the end of last season and the MRI showed a torn ligament, so first thing my family suggested when I came home, was to "go see Unruh." I came into your office and was greeted by your happy, energetic staff and immediately felt comfortable. I want to thank you for treating my ankle. In just a few visits it was feeling considerably better. You are great, and you have a wonderful staff, please tell them all I say hello. I wanted to come in for one last visit but I was so busy getting things ready. I am now in Germany and had my first practice today, and the ankle felt great!!! Thanks for everything! -S Zaidi

I have been to Dr Unruhs office last 15 years for different issues....neck & shoulder, upper back, lower back. He and his staff are wonderful & caring. This last week "out of the blue" I had my lower back & legs give out on me as i just reached down to pickup a towel. I had been a little sore for a few days before & figured it was the was the way I was sleeping, but this dropped me to my knees. When I called in, they had appt in 1 hour & saw me before my appt time ( I was sitting in the waiting room crying, I was in so much pain). As soon as Dr Unruh adjusted my lower back, I was feeling better...NOT perfect, but I wasnt crying any longer. One of his assistants came in and started deep ultrasound & TEMS....I felt my back losing all of the tightness. Dr Unruh called me at home 2 hours later to make sure that I wouldnt forget to use ice and NOT heat...glad he did cuz I DID forget. I went back today for my follow up & I told him that I felt 100x better. I have referred friends & relatives to Dr Unruh & will continue to in the future.
