New to the area, and ready to take the best care of my skin, I made an appointment for a consultation with Dr. Levine for two reasons. I read great reviews and they sell skin care products that I was interested in learning more about, and I just wanted to be checked out, as I hadnt been to a Dermatologist in 10 years. It happened to be my birthday on the day of my appointment and I was really pleased about receiving a complimentary consult to see if this was the right Dermatologist for me. I was ushered into a very large room, because "all of the other rooms were full," and I explained to the nurse that I had minor concerns for adult acne, but a deeper concern for redness reduction in my face. She informed me at that time that there "was not time for a full body scan" and that Id have to make an additional appointment for that. I accepted that because I wanted to meet Dr. Levine and see if he was the right doctor for my skin concerns anyway. A positive thing was that I didnt have to wait that long after being ushered into the room to meet Dr. Levine. I spent no longer than 6 minutes face time with him, which was all the time I needed to know that he wasnt the Dermatologist for me. He did inform me of their photo facial that reduces redness, but is quite costly (if its something youre interested in, they do have payment plans), but didnt offer any other advice. As for my acne concern, he never once asked what my skin type was or if it was sensitive, what I had already tried, etc. Instead, he just wrote a prescription for a sulfur based lotion without hesitation like he already knew that would help me. Knowing that sulfer dries the skin out and ultimately produces more redness, I asked if this lotion he was prescribing would be ultra-drying for someone who already has dry and sensitive skin and if it would increase my redness. He basically answered that because it was a lotion that it would be moisterizing.. And thats when I knew that he had no concern for me or my questions and wasnt taking me seriously when that was all I was taking him at until that point. Little did I know either, that by accepting this prescription, my 6 minute consult was now turned into an "office visit- expanded," as I received a bill for my complimentary consult. Had he explained that by writting a prescription for me, that this would change my consult to an actual doctors visit, I would have known Id be receiving a bill and I would not be this irrate, and I would have gotten my moneys worth and demanded the full body scan to check for any irregularities, and bring up my other concerns that would have fit into an appointments time and not just a consults time. As I went to the front desk to check out, they told me I was all taken care of and that if I wanted to learn more about the skin care products they sold, then I could make a skin-care consult appointment with an aesthetician. This is what I should have done in the first place! I came back the next day, and had a skin care consult with Beth, who took a good 25-30 minutes with me, examined my face thoroughly, listened to what I wanted to accomplish and sent me home with a skin care regime to follow with samples to try of their products to see how my skin responded. She was upfront with me about the products shes seen results from and what I could buy at the drugstore that was better! She even followed up with me a little over a week later by phone to see if I was liking any of the products I was trying. I bought a few of them once the samples ran out. I would rate her as excellent! Everything from her service to her truthfulness to her followup was class act, and Im so glad I went back to the office to see someone else.

I went for a regular physical exam through my regular family physician and he found 3 spots on me and said they are probably melanoma, he then said I cant extract them for about 2 weeks, so have a great weekend. Needless to say, I was basically depressed and worried for an entire week when I decided to seek a second opinion and actually see a dermatologist. I did a search on Google and Mountain View Dermatology came up. It looked like a nice site so I decided to call and ask some questions. Ceci was extremely helpful and very friendly on the phone so I booked an appointment for a full skin review. When I went in I couldnt believe how nice this office was! It also had this vibe that I cant explain but it was very calming (I was nervous!) Ceci checked me in and once again was super friendly. I waited only a few minutes and went in to the room with Dr. Levine. He is a soft spoken man but a great listener. He did the exam and said I have nothing to worry about!!! I trust his judgement far more than a family physicians! He asked if I had any other concerns and we talked about some other skin issues, and he sat and listened to me ramble for a few minutes. I had a great experience, and I received great news! What more could you ask for? :) I will be going in yearly to see Dr. Levine from here on out, its rare that I have such a great experience at a doctors office. Thank you Mountain View Dermatology!!

I saw Dr. Levine for hand vein treatment in the spring of 2014. He treated me using sclerotherapy injection - reasonable for about $350. Except it didnt work. I got no results. When I went back for the follow-up visit and showed him my hands and told him they did not respond he said "yes they did." Like as if I am blind or something and/or dont remember what the back of my own hands look like! He then suggested he could cut the veins out. I have since gotten effective treatment from a physician in Denver who used foam sclerotherapy. When I asked Dr. Levine about foam sclerotherapy he said it was too strong for hands and only used on the legs.

Excellent customer service. My extremely tight schedule is respected. I am greeted immediately upon arrival; taken back to the exam room right away; never have to wait more than a few minutes for my appointment to begin and the same nurse works with me and my doctor each time. They must be keeping me happy, because I have been a patient for perhaps 10 years now, and I cannot say that for most other businesses I use. Dr. Levine works with my medical issues until we get it right, even where he cannot bill for the service. The acne facials are a terrific treatment and fortunately, are covered by my insurance.

I have been a patient of Dr. Levine for many years. I initially went to him because two other dermatologists in Boulder were not able to cure an embarrassing skin problem I had, even after many years and trying multiple treatment regimens. Dr. Levine solved my problem on my first visit to him! Since then, he has treated me for multiple minor skin problems - always successfully and to my satisfaction. He listens to my needs, and treats my issues appropriately. His personality may not be right for everyone, but I get along with him just fine and appreciate his professional skill.
