A couple years ago, upon returning from vacation, Woodmen Kennels called me up to tell me my 10 lb dogs was injured by one of my other dogs - that her eye was torn out and they were taking her to Powers Pet Emergency. I do have to say that the people were nice, if not a little bit disorganized. The vet explained the issue with my dogs eye - that there was no way of saving it - the nerve had been severed, so it needed to be removed. They charged me about $920 to remove her eye... after which I was supposed to see my usual vet for check up. Flash forward 8 months later - her eye kept filling up and leaking stuff out of the vented area... originally we thought it was infected so threw antibiotics at it (which did seem to help). Long story not quite as long - Powers Emergency had left some "duct material" which was causing the eye socket to continually fill up. I then had to pay my own vet another $1200 for tests and another surgery to remove the duct material Powers Emergency had failed to remove. So... just becuase they are courteous, compassionate, enthusiastic, I would say they are a little green around the edges. If you pay a little more now, you wont have to pay a LOT MORE later.

Dr. Welfare is one of the best vets I have ever had the chance to know. Thats saying a lot, considering that I am more than willing to drive all the way to Colorado Springs from Aurora just to have him see my pets. When my elderly cat Kashmere suddenly wasnt eating, Dr. Welfare seemed to be the only one who took the time to examine her thoroughly and came up with a few solutions. Sadly, it was cancer and there wasnt a lot we could do for her. My fondest memory, and first impression, was when he came into the room to look at Kashmere, who was sitting on the floor, he sat down on the floor next to her! He then proceeded to check her over on the floor and then pulled her into his lap saying "Now its your chance to pee on the vet" of which she did not partake. He then moved her to the exam table to get a better view and after he looked at us and said the news wasnt good, he kissed her head. <3 That was compassion if I have ever seen it and I will never forget just how wonderful of a vet he is and all that he did for Kashmere.

I have been taking my dog here for a year now and am extremely pleased with the care and attention showed to my 16month old and 6month old four legged kids get every time we go see Dr. Welfare. I am very picky and quite a pain about things (tons of questions, wanting things done 100% right) and am so glad I chose this office. I am never rushed, no question is ever left unanswered. I feel like Dr. Welfare loves my babies as much as i do. My oldest gets so excited to see the Dr, its like he is seeing his best bud every time! There isn't anything I can think of that would better my experience, they are even open on Saturday!

Dr. Welfare and his whole staff are very professional, knowledgeable, and compassionate. As a volunteer for a Colorado greyhound adoption group, I had the pleasure of visiting the clinic with 2 fosters that Dr. Welfare generously spayed for our group. He took the time to explain the procedures, and even gave me a tour of the clinic, which, by the way, is awesome too. Dr. Welfare really cares about "the pets", no matter if they are yours, or if you are fostering them, and his care and attention shows in the way he conducts NPAH. Very nice animal hospital!

North Powers Animal Hospital is hands down the best place we have ever taken our pets. We have an epileptic German Shepherd named Xach and the attention, knowledge, and overall care he has received is next to none. Dr. Welfare has seen us numerous times without an appointment. He has written prescriptions, consulted with us, and shown great care all without charging us for an appointment. Him and his staff always follow up and shown genuine concern when it comes to our pets. I highly recommend North Powers, they are fantastic.

Dr. Welfare and his staff are wonderfully caring and gifted people. They approach caring for my pets, and for my family, with unbelievable kindness and patience. Dr. Welfare is extraordinarily gifted as a veterinarian, and I am so grateful to have him in our lives. He has saved my pet three times now, the last one when we had given up hope. He helped my mother-in-law through having to euthanize her very sick dog with kindness and helped her find peace with the decision. We are so grateful.

We have been to a few other vets before Dr. Welfare, and he is by far the best. You can tell that he really cares about your pet. He makes sure to go the extra mile to explain and find a solution to you and your pets problem. His staff is amazing, very kind and courteous. They actually call you to check up on your pet, and they dont mind you repeatedly calling them to ask questions. Overall, their service is exceptional and we wont be changing our vet again.

Bad customer service! The women in the front desk do not acknowledge when you first walk in. They look at you like you wasting their time. When you call, they are unhelpful and are rude. The Veterinarian was nice, but that doesn’t make up for the bad service. I will not ever return or take my pet there in the future! North Powers Animal Hospital employees are unprofessional and mean-spirited. Overall poor customer services! Do not recommend this vet.

Dr. Welfare and his techs are great! All staff are very helpful and caring, and Dr. Welfare is hilarious, knowledgeable, and a great listener. I wish I knew a human-care doctor as good as this guy. I came out feeling confident in his recommendations, and have a good grasp on what I need to do for my pet. The office is clean and organized, and my dog had the best most exciting day of her life, which is saying a lot for a normally dreaded vet trip.

The best! Dr. Welfare and his staff provide excellent care and service. Out of numerous encounters with vets, I believe he is the best that I have ever come across. Example, last year I sought him out b/c my dog was in very bad shape. She was at Banfield Hospital and he gave advice to them and actually went and checked on her on his own time. We have a new puppy now and we bring her to Dr. Welfare. I cant recommend him enough!

Dr. Welfare and his staff are so incredible! I drive an hour and a half just to come to this practice! The whole staff is so knowledgeable and friendly! I wouldnt trust my pets with anyone else! Dr. Welfare is so amazing with my dog and makes him feel so comfortable and loved! He is so worth the drive that I do! If you are looking for an absolutely fantastic veterinarian this clinic is the only place to go!

We have taken our three dogs to Dr. Welfares office for almost 9 years. They have always treated and loved our dogs as much as we do. I cannot say enough good things about this whole office and staff... Dr. Carlson as well. She is so very thorough. Karen, Cheryl, Ariel, Robert (he is SO GOOD!)... EVERYONE here is just so patient and kind and whenever we have any questions they are so helpful.
