Quick show of hands for those of you that skipped going to the dentist in the past year . . . 2 years? . . . 5 years? I hadnt been to the dentist in, well . . . a long time. I moved back to Colorado for a new job last year after a 12-year absence. I figured it was time to finally get an actual doctor and dentist to call my own. In a move that feels like a very responsible thing to have done, I am now the proud patient of my very own dental practice . . . I found Downing Street Dental through my dental insurances website. Their office is close to Wash Park, the University of Denver and is very convenient to get to from downtown Denver. I LOVE that they are open Tuesdays until 7pm to accommodate the busy schedules of urban professionals. Their facility is this great mix of retro feeling dental furniture combined with the leading edge of dental technology. (I cant believe how much has changed in 10 years!) The staff are all amazingly helpful in scheduling appointments, billing my insurance and following up with me regarding upcoming cleanings and treatments. The techs are funny, super helpful and are clearly excited to be at work honing their skills. Dr. James McLain is the owner of the practice and he is clearly doing something right. His passion and dedication to his craft are wonderfully evident in every interaction Ive had with him. Im so glad that I stumbled in to becoming a patient of Dr. McLains. If you just moved to the Denver area and are looking for a new dentist or are looking to upgrade from your old school dentist that still remembers your dads teeth issues when he was his patient as a boy . . . . . . go say hello to Dr. McLain and the crew at Downing Street Dental. You wont be disappointed!

What a fantastic group of dedicated professionals!! From the moment you walk in, Jhanel greets you warmly at the front desk and immediately ensures that you feel comfortable, offering coffee, tea, or water whilst you await your appointment. Meegan, Sarah, and Stacey are extraordinary Dental Hygienists; in that their attention to detail, willingness to educate and explain, and holistic view of you as a patient places them in the top 1% of their profession. And of course, Dr. McLain, a dentist who takes his job quite seriously, yet exudes a demeanor of kindness which is rare to find in a dentist these days. Because the hygienists are so detailed in their work, Dr. McLain, when he enters your room, is already fully aware of your dental situation and immediately sets to work inspecting, teaching, encouraging, and inspiring the patient. I was referred by a friend to Dr. McLains practice and was reluctant to go, having not visited the Dentist in sometime. However, I never felt judged. On the contrary, the staff were exceptional in motivating me to take my dental health more seriously and provided me with tips and tools to prevent dental complications in the future. It doesnt hurt that the new patient 1st visit "special" price is beyond affordable given the quality of care you receive. I am looking forward to growing my relationship with Dr. McLains practice and feel absolutely certain that whatever the case, I can count on every member of the incredible team at Downing Street Dental to provide comprehensive care in a welcoming environment, where smiles and learning abound!

I received excellent care from Dr. McLain and the staff at Downing Street Dental. When my past dental office no longer supported my insurance plan, I was concerned because I had to seek out a new dentist. I put off the search until extreme pain in a tooth forced me to call a friend for a recommendation. I was able to make an appointment at Downing Street Dental the very same morning that I called. It turns out that I needed a root canal and Dr. McLain went out of his way to explain the procedure, my options, and answer any questions that I had. The procedure went well and the pain was gone! Hurray! Today, I had my teeth cleaned and received my permanent crown and went home feeling happy with my dental choice. Downing Street Dental uses the latest dental care technology and I was impressed by the entire staff who were friendly, professional, and always took the time to describe exactly what they were doing and what I could expect. I highly recommend Dr. McLain and Downing Street Dental!

I am officially not scared to see a dentist anymore and thats because I now go see Dr. McClain and his great team! He is extremely detail oriented and does an excellent job at explaining how, what, where, and why as opposed to just rushing you in and getting you out. From the detailed pictures of your teeth that they take and show you, to the high tech manner in which they track your progress, this Doc and his crew are truly the best of the best. Dr. McClain replaced an older filling that had been done years ago by another dentist and he did a fantastic job. I am not good with needles and I can honestly say I DID NOT FEEL the injection he gave me at all! Truly, hes great at what he does and you can tell that helping patients is his passion. His crew, Stacy, Jhannel, Sara and the rest of the team are phenomenal. They provide the help and care that you deserve and also educate you in the process, which i feel is extremely valuable. Thanks Downing Street Dental!

First off- I HATE going to the dentist- BUT I dont hate going to Downing Street Dental / Dr. McLain Im so thankful Ive finally found a dentist that I can trust. McLlain takes the same tack that I would if our roles were reversed.... hes not your typical "drill, fill, & bill" dentist. Dr. McLain takes the time to weight out the options, pros/cons, and puts his honest experiences around making decisions and taking appropriate action. He was also very cognizant of my insurance changes I faced when changing jobs and we worked around my deductibles and coverage to optimize the best plan for me. The whole staff has been uber friendly and I will put in a plug for the good tunes they typically have going when Im there.... One more reason I like this place- the appointment reminders and documentation, forms, etc, can all be done online and the text/email/call, whatever you prefer help make sure I never forget and make it easy to reschedule.

Great Dental Experience as a New Patient! I have some pretty used and abused teeth, so I am hesitant about the care I will receive from most dental offices. I had to leave my last dental office due to insurance changes, so I was even more nervous to go to a new provider. However, this was such a great experience that I will be sure to continue to return. I had Meegan as my hygienist and she extremely thorough during her exam and cleaning, very professional, and offered a wealth of useful information about prevention and overall gum and dental care. Dr. McLain was a great dental provider - thoroughly looked over my x-rays, discussed what he initially saw on film, performed his exam, and went over a potential game plan with me. He was not pushy at all and recommended things I should do either now or in the future depending on finances and time. Overall great experience - professional and thoughtful care provided.
