Overall, this practice is wonderful. The Dr.s are amazing, the nurses are friendly and the environment is like walking into a childs wonderland. There are beautiful murals on the walls, a gorgeous fish tank in the waiting area and another tank with cute little frogs in it. We have seen Dr. Julie and Dr. Mike and have been with the practice since they first opened, and I honestly felt I had hit the goldmine as far as a Pediatricians office those first couple of years.....Then they hired Ashley as their front desk person, and Im sorry to say but she really brings the whole place down a notch, which is why I had to give a 4 star review, and not 5. Ive been disappointed on several occasions by her sour attitude and snotty tone of voice. Dont ever show up 11 minutes late to an appointment, even if you call first and do everything you can to scramble to get there, she will not let you be seen by the Dr. She wont even offer to reschedule your appt for you. She will just sit there with a cold and expressionless face and say "Our policy is that if youre 10 minutes late, you need to reschedule". No "Sorry for the inconvenience", or "Id be happy to look at our book to see when we can get you in"......nothing but a cold tone of voice and a judgmental look of disapproval that you ran late to your appointment. For such a happy practice otherwise, Dr. Mike reminds me of Patch Adams!, and Dr. Julie is the sweetest person on Earth, Ashley does not match the overall happy vibe of the practice. I feel bad putting a negative review on here because I dont like to put out negativity, but I also dont like receiving negativity and thats about all I ever experience from that 1 person in your office, and I have heard other parents say the exact same thing. "Oh Healthy Habits? We love them....but Gosh that receptionist is rude". Just something you might want to consider. New parents just an fyi, dont let her attitude scare you off, once you get past her, the practice is great!

This is difficult to write. Dr. Mike was the pediatrician we selected for our daughter. He was kind and helpful during our initial visits. My wife had a number of concerns, as all first time mothers do, and Dr. Mike dismissed all of my wifes concerns and reassured us that our 8 week old daughter was perfectly healthy. "She just needed to gain some weight." Still not satisfied, we went back to him and asked him to check her again...and again he said she was doing "just fine." Two days later, we had to rush our daughter to the Emergency Room where they determined that her right upper lung had never formed properly and was now, a huge cyst that was blocking our daughters ability to breath and was limiting her hearts ability to circulate blood. The ER crew noticed right away that there were no breathing sounds on her upper right side and were shocked when we told them that Dr. Mike had given her a clean bill of health only 2 days earlier. I know pediatricians are good people and I believe that Dr. Mike does his best and truly cares about his patients. I, however, would not trust him again nor would I recommend him to anyone. In fact, this review is a warning. Make sure he listens to your concerns. Make sure he is not flippant and superficial in his examinations of your babies.

Julie Ekstrom

Weve been going to Dr. Juli for nearly 13 years now! She is absolutely the most wonderful pediatrician we have ever had the pleasure of working with and we have referred many friends! We have followed her from office to office, over the years. I could not give a stronger recommendation to anyone else in the field! I am always astonished at the amount of time Dr. Julie is able to spend with us. On the flipside I have never sat in exam room, waiting and wondering when my childrens exam will begin. She is always on time which lets me know that she has blocked out at least an hour for us. We are able to discuss everything from how the children are doing in school, two if I am having any concerns at home, and obviously, what any of our health concerns or questions for the future maybe. Will matter how silly or trivial I think that they may be, she treats each question I have with the deepest concern and involve myself in the discussion, I feel, so that she knows my concerns have been addressed and I fully understand ever the topic of our conversation was. If I have concerns outside of business hours she is always prompt to respond within a few hours of the next business day. I have five children and I would trust Dr. Julie with each and every one of their lives.

This office has been a blessing! My daughter had 3 different pediatricians in 2 different states before we started coming here and Healthy Habits has been the best, by far. We have seen every provider at this office and have been pleased with all of them. Leah is probably my daughters favorite! They helped us figure out what was going on with our daughter and knew who to send her to for the help she needed, they have answered every question and concern I have had about my children, with no judgement. 2 days before my son was born, they did a check-up on my daughter who had a case of sniffles, to make sure she was healthy enough to come see her baby brother. They knew his name before he was born amd remembered it when we brought him in for his firat visit. The on-call doctors have been fantastic and always know when to wait (though they still get them in ASAP the next business day) and when it os something that needs immediate attention. So grateful for everyone here!

Dr. Mike and his staff are spectacular! Educated, polite, efficient, thorough and caring. My children who are both very shy have been very comfortable with everyone in the office. Dr. Mike also helped us through some difficult times with our sons treatments and surgery. Not only has he guided us in the right direction with specialists, he stayed committed and involved, communicating with us and the other doctors involved. I wish I could clone Dr. Mike and his staff so that ALL children could receive the excellent care and comfort that Dr. Mike Brazelton and his practice offers.

Healthy Habits Pediatrics was our saving grace. We had been to two other pediatricians and had horrible experiences (with highly ranked doctors). I was referred to Dr. Mike Brazelton and have been more than happy ever since! They take care of your children and actually care. They take their time listening to your concerns and dont answer every problem with antibiotics. Weve never waited longer than 10 minutes to be taken back and are so grateful for them and their team!

Dr Mikes office is the closest thing to Disney or a world adventure as you can get. What a brilliant idea to make the office so fun to reduce the childs fear of doctors. Dr Mike is always there for my child and makes him feel so comfortable. But the real fun is seeing every different room. I think my kid wants to go back to play in the waiting room and see what new adventure awaits as he goes into another fantasy room. He is the best pediatric doctor in the state!!
