I am baffled, frustrated, and completely disappointed by the service I received at The Eye Care Center of Colorado on June 29th, 2016. When the technician went to clean my glasses the frames broke at the bridge. This was obviously an accident and I wasn’t even mad, just surprised and speechless. There was no previous damage to my frames, no cracks or scratches and I keep my glasses in a case when not wearing them. This is why the technician’s next question really took me by surprise, “Were these glued?” I couldn’t believe it, the technician immediately assumed it wasn’t his fault and after I quickly answered “no, there was nothing wrong with them” the technician did apologize and said it would be no problem and they would take care of them. After my eye exam with the optometrist (which was a great experience) the technician began explaining my options for replacing the frames. They were willing to offer me 50% off one of their name brand frames, give me one of their off brand frames for free, or pay to have my frames replaced. I was not planning on replacing my frames as I am very happy with the style I have so I asked them to reimburse me for the same frames. The technician fit my old lens to fit a pair of loaner frames so that I could have something while I waited for my new frames (I don’t ware contacts and don’t have a pair of spare glasses at home). The technician explained that I would need to bring in the receipt along with the loaner frames and they would reimburse me. About a week and half later I got my new frames, took the loaner frames back along with the receipt for the frames I purchased which were exactly the same as the frames they broke. When I got the reimbursement check in the mail the next week it was for only HALF the cost of the frames. There was a note with the reimbursement that stated because they were out of warranty and 2 years old, they would only cover the cost of half! I couldn’t believe it so I called the office manager to get a better explanation as to why they would only pay half of the frames which they broke. The office manager literally told me, “You knew those frames were compromised, frames don’t just break like that, and paying half is more than fair.” She never apologized and proceed to suggest that I knew my frames were damaged and on the verge of breaking so I was trying to swindle them into buying me a new pair of frames. I’ve never been treated like this by a local business and coming from a family of small business owners I was left feeling taken advantage of and as if my business didn’t matter to them. Long story short, my family and friends will no longer be patients at this optometrist and I want to warn everyone considering becoming or currently a patient that if you’d be better off finding somewhere else to take your business.

After consulting with several other practices, I have selected the Eye Center of Colorado for surgery and treatment of cataracts. With one surgery completed by Dr. Michael Miller, I can confidently say that he and his staff are the embodiment of what a high quality, patient-centered medical practice should be. The information on the web site is clear and complete. The entire staff, front office, technical and professional, are friendly, helpful and informative. At every step of the way, they provided information, explained treatment options and answered questions. Surgery and appointment scheduling were handled promptly. Most importantly, the results after the first surgery are excellent.

Dr. Roos is an outstanding optometrist. Shes very competent and friendly. Experienced but young, she understands the busy lives of professional parents and gives thorough but efficient care. While she enjoyed opening Eyetopia, her practice and optical shop in Highlands Ranch, she has dissolved her interest in the partnership. Fortunately, loyal patients like myself can still access her excellent care here at The Eye Center of Colorado.

I had LASIK with Dr. Miller and it was the best thing i ever did the service was excellent. The staff at The Eye Center are pleasant and friendly, almost family like. I will absolutely refer my friend and family there in the future.
