Worst dental experience of my life! This is a long review, but I urge you to read it! My Son (2 years old) and I (32 years old) both setup appointments for 11am on a Saturday. We were not seen until 12:30pm... and that wasnt until i started to complain. There was another woman whose little boy also had an appointment at 11am, she eventually left without being seen. They were way understaffed and the Dentist didnt seem to realize that they were running an hour and a half behind. So they scheduled 3 people to be seen at the same time but only had one dentist and one dental assistant working. There was another women working who did my x-rays and cleaning but I am not sure she was a dental assistant, she seemed inexperienced and unskilled. This is a place that advertises being kid friendly, anyone who has a young one can tell you that waiting over an hour anywhere does not fly. It get worse, when they finally saw me, it took them over 20 minutes to do my x-rays, the women taking the x-rays would put the device in my mouth and take the image and then look at the image for 10+ seconds before removing the thing from my mouth, those things are painful! Take the stupid thing out of my mouth then check your image. She also had to retake 3 of the x-rays. Then, finally, it was time for the cleaning and exam. Every other time I have been to a Dentist it has gone, pick and floss, polish, exam. The order it was done at Happy Teeth was exam, polish, floss, pick. When I asked why the exam was before the cleaning they acted like it was normal so I went along with it. The exam was quick, and the dentist said I have 8 cavities. I had zero at my last dentist visit, one year ago. I exclaimed my surprise and he was only able to show me 2 of the cavities on the x-rays saying that the remainder of them where on the surface of my teeth and did not show on the x-ray. The polishing was poor at best, it did not feel like she got all areas of my teeth… it seemed rushed and a chunk of the polish fell down into my throat causing me to gag. Then she flossed my teeth, the most painful flossing experience of my life. My gums where still swollen the next day. When she “rinsed” my teeth it was spray everywhere and she didn’t seem to know how to work the suction device to get fluids out of my mouth. A few times I wanted to spit… but there are no sinks around. Finally the dentist came back and used the water pick to finish up. It was painful as well but not nearly as bad as the flossing. I did not complain about the pain because I just wanted my visit to be over and get out of there. They gave me a quote to do my fillings and I did not want to sign it because the bottom of the paper work said that I authorize them to do the work. The secretary said “You have to sign it even if you don’t get the work done with us.” So I crossed off the parts I didn’t agree with and initialed by them and got a copy in case they try anything shady. I will be going to another dentist soon to get a second exam done because I do not trust the Dentist at Happy Teeth. Needless to say, I would not get any fillings done there. I want to add that they took 2 x-rays of my son’s teeth, I am unsure if it is normal to take an x-ray of a 2 year old’s teeth. His cleaning and exam seemed to go better than mine, but it is my understanding that dentists don’t do much for toddlers.

I scheduled an appointment here because they are open on Fridays unlike my prior Dentist at the time, they take my insurance, and they are super close to my home. Because my dentist was closed on Fridays it had been really difficult to get a teeth cleaning and I had not done so for the past eight or nine months. The appointment was scheduled a week out, and the fact they could get me in so soon should have been a sign they are bad news. They did not state I would need to bring anything other than than ID and insurance card. After filling out a bunch of paperwork, saying I was pregnant, waiting, coming back to the chair, I was told I would need to get X-rays. I informed her I just found out I was pregnant and I could not do so. She said she could not even clean my teeth without them. I offered to have my old medical files transferred over, and had I know X-rays were going to be so vital, I would have done so prior to the appointment. I even offered my OB to fax to email stating I was pregnant. Thirty minutes later after talking with the office manager, they would not clean my teeth. My prior dentist office was closed because it was Friday and they refused to clean my teeth without an X-ray in hand. They wasted my whole morning and honestly with all the new oral health studies and knowledge I am surprised and highly disappointing they would refuse to clean a pregnant womans teeth. It is recommended pregnant women get their teeth clean three times and some insurances cover three during pregnancy. That is how important it is. They are in it for the money more than the health of their patients. I will never go here and I recommend you dont either.

I just posted this on facebook and thought the business should benefit from it: I had the best experience at the dentist. There were no snacks in the waiting room, no TV on the ceiling, and no massage chair, and YET, my teeth were cleaned thoroughly, people were friendly, the dentist took the time to educate me about my options and answer my questions, nobody tried to sell me anything, AND for the FIRST TIME IN MY LIFE I was complimented by both the hygienist and the dentist on my "excellent oral hygiene" and told to "keep up the good work." I will now be their customer for life (or as long as Im in CO anyway). Additionally, Im going to learn from this and when I see patients for their physicals I am going to compliment them on the things they are doing well to take care of their body because it surprisingly made my day for my dentist to acknowledge the work I do to take care of my teeth. PS Its Happy Teeth on Colfax and I loved it.

What can I say about this place. Its an amazing place; they treat my child so well theyre amazing at what they do. Dr.A and Dr. Dorsey are amazing. Dr.A worked on my son and of course like every other Three year old he was crying so unfortunately we had to put him under General Anesthesia and EVERYTHING came out great Thank God!! The front desk is always friendly and the assistance are amazing especially Oscar! He put my son at ease in the beginning and was playing with him very nice guy! Big props to him! Ive seen some reviews that the office was dirty but in my experience the office was super clean and very well organized! I will definitely recommend for any parents and their children to go their! The name might throw you off but they also accept Adults!! :) I CAN DEFINITELY SAY THAT WE FOUND A DENTIST THAT WE LOVE!!! THANK YOU HAPPY TEETH!! :)
