Let me preface that the star is based ONLY on Dr. Murphy. I took my nine month old in yesterday for a normal well-baby visit. To start my appointment off I waited for 45 minutes in the room with a tired and wiggly baby, and when she finally arrived she did not even acknowledge her tardiness. I was fine to brush this off, but it was just the start to our awful appointment. I was introduced to her transcriber who followed her into the room (not sure if this was for note purposes or something deeper). When examining my son, she asked me to hold him down on the table...this was odd to me because with both of my kids, doctors have always examined them in my lap (especially as babies). I did as I was told as she did her exam and my son began to wail. Eventually SHE DECIDED TO PICK UP MY CHILD! Never has ANYONE picked up my child without first asking so I said "let me hold him" and she told me "in a second." I cannot explain the furry Im feeling just writing this. She handed him back, screaming and asked me to lay him down again. I did as I was told (I think out of shock because looking back I shouldve just packed up and left). He continued to wail as she checked his eyes, ears and mouth. Once she finished, she told me to pick him up and then said "he shouldnt be this upset at his age, that is something Id expect out of a 15 month old." My comment back was "well you are a stranger, your hands were freezing, you had me hold him down and then picked him up without my consent." To which she said "It is the quickest most efficient way for to me to check him" Im sorry, but in the world of pediatrics, shouldnt our foremost concern be the COMFORT of the kiddo??? Beyond this, she interrogated me about where my daughter was (this was not her appointment nor any of the doctors business), made snide comments about the food Id chosen to give my baby (I am happy to provide details of the food I VERY CAREFULLY PREPARE AND RESEARCH TO GIVE MY KIDS) and whether or not my husband and I had been to the doctor recently. Moral of the story is I will NEVER take my child to this doctor again. I would advise anyone looking for a nice, helpful pediatrician who actually LIKES kids to stay clear of this one.

Being new to motherhood there is so much to learn and prepare for, Focus on kids from the minute I called were extremely helpful! Their office staff has great repour with the patients, amazing customer service skills! Helpful tentative and patient! ... you got to be when it comes to babies. Dr. Kania is absolutely one of the best doctors Ive ever known! She has taken such good care of our little family! She met us at the hospital the morning our baby was born; she was there even before my doctor! She has really treated us like apart of her medical family and we greatly appreciate it! She and the rest of the doctors and medical staff at this office have really been a blessing to us! We are so lucky to be patients at this facility!

Weve been going here since our boys were first born (~ 3 years ago) and love this office. Dr. Kania is our primary and we love both her professionalism as well as her bed side manner. She is a great doctor for our boys. More than the doctors though, this office is great because of all of their staff. The front office admin is a pleasure to work with and is always kind. The icing on the cake for us is their billing staff. They always listen to you and actually hear what you are saying. They are very experienced in what they do and take as much time as is needed to work with you. We love this office and the only reason we would ever leave is if we had to move out of the Metro area.

We love Focus on Kids. We have a 2 1/2 yr old and and a 7 month old. Dr. Frand is our primary and he is a great doctor. He really cares about the kids and never tries to rush you out the door. He answers all your questions and really has a relationship with your kids. He is very personable and friendly. He has an awesome personality as do Dr. Murphy and Dr. Kania. We have seen them all a few times and they are all wonderful. I would absolutely recommend them to my friends and family. The only problem is that they have so many patients that you do have to wait in the room for a while before being seen. But they always get you in same day if your kid is sick.

Failure to communicate front office staff is rude & not always knowledgeable! They will make you wait longer then 45 minutes in a room with your sick child or children while they talk to one another or a pharmaceutical rep! Will make you fill out patient history forms (CHADIS) and charge your insurance company $80. To $90. Per form per child! They lack in compassion and have over the last 17 years become more focused on money then actual patient care! Disappointed to say this but I have suffered years of negligence and will no longer allow my children to be seen in their office!

Dr Frand and Dr Kania are wonderful! They always take the time to answer any questions or address concerns I have (even outside business hours!). They sit on the floor with the kids and really strive to create the best experience for them. The office staff is able to troubleshoot questions with billing or be flexible with appt changes. The facility is clean and the giant fish tank in the waiting area certainly helps entertain the little ones who arent being seen by the doctor yet. I would definitely recommend this office and their staff to all my family and friends!

We have been going to Focus on Kids for about 17 years. All 4 of our children went there until they hit 21. In all 17 years we have been extremely happy and satisfied with the care our children recieved. Its not just a doctors office, its our family. We just wanted the best medical care for our children and that is what we got. Now thats not all we now have 3 of our grandchildren that go to FOK the oldest being 7 years and the youngest 19 months. I highly recommend FOK to take your children to. Thanks FOK for all the great years! Debbie Allen

Our primary care physician is Dr. Murphy. She is excellent. Dr. Murphy has been an incredible source for help in raising my children, not just medical advice. I always tell everyone that my pediatrician has been my touchstone for all questions and concerns regarding child rearing. When I hear of others experiences with their doctors, I am extra grateful that we found Dr. Murphy from my oldest birth until present, 14 years later. We will stay until we age out. Thank you, Dr. Murphy for everything you have done for my family!

Great doctors, Dr. Frand is really wonderful and knows his stuff. Mona was fantastic but left. The other PA Janine was really good when we started now just seems burnt out and abrupt. On our last appt a nurse came in 5 times to give test results and Janine left for over 15 min to make a phone call. Wait times are ridiculous, plan on being there atleast an hour or more. They need to stop taking new patients and take care of the ones they have if they want to stay
