This is hands down the worst practice Ive ever been to. We had to choose a pediatrician before they would allow us to leave the hospital but unfortunately, all of our top choices were not taking new patients at the time so we had to settle for Gablehouse. Bottom line: this sub par practice that wants your money and could care less about the well being of your child. For the first year of my daughters life, she never saw the doctor, it was all PAs. Dr Gablehouse made absolutely zero effort to introduce herself to our family. Additionally, the front desk staff is rude and absolutely uncaring. They dont know your child from Adam and dont care to learn. Its pretty obvious that this practice cares more about money than care because of the sub par people that are employed here on what seems to be a revolving door basis. What makes this place the worst though, is their absolute unwillingness to care for patients after hours. Just a few weeks ago, our daughter had a fairly disconcerting stomach issue and when we called the Peak emergency line, THEY NEVER CALLED US BACK! Never!!! I mean, were talking about babies here and they are so cold, so calloused, they didnt make any effort whatsoever to return our call. What kind of a heartless monster would let a call from scared parents of sick child go unanswered? I have a lot of friends that are having kids over the past year and all I can tell them is DO NOT, under any circumstances, take your child here. Its like being treated at a DMV only with unfriendlier people. Dr Gablehouse should be ashamed of herself. Its obvious she got into medicine for the money, not to provide care and one appointment at this place will confirm that without question. The only exception is James. She is caring and gentle which makes it odd that she would choose to work in such an awful place. Again, DO NOT choose this practice if you care the least about your childs care. You might have to wait a bit but its worth going someplace else where you can be assured that your childs care comes first. I probably would have walked away and kept my mouth shut but after a year of being treated like a faceless number and them not returning our emergency phone call, I could not. Shame on Dr Gablehouse and shame on Peak Pediatrics. Primary examples of money over care. Beware and be warned.

We switched to Peak Pediatrics in March of 2014 to continue seeing Dr. Caraveo, my daughters doctor from 2 weeks old. We visited the new Thornton office, which was very nice and clean, and the nurses were friendly. We intended to stay. HOWEVER, in May we went for a nurses visit to receive a vaccine. We had done this twice in the past with no issue. They pull her up vax record, ask which one she would like to get, and we were done and out the door. Dr. Caraveo was not in that day and it was not our usual staff. First, the appointment was not in the computer... They assured us they could squeeze us in. After a 10 minute wait, the nurse pops in, syringe in hand, declaring, "She is getting an MMR!" I said, "No.. She already had her 1 year MMR.. She shouldnt need another one...?" So, another wait, another syringe,"Shes getting the Varicella!" And I said, "Actually, that is the ONE vaccine we planned to opt out of." I was then referred to the doctor, whom I can only assume was Barbara Gablehouse. I was treated with no kindness or respect. I was told, "Well, we were just going off the other doctors records... We already wasted one vaccine. They are a huge expense. If you dont have a huge objection to this one, why dont you take it." I was in shock and blindly agreed, not knowing what else to do. I should have walked out. I relied on them to accurately read my daughters records, or at the very least ASK me before drawing the "very costly" vaccines. I felt the "business" was put before my daughters health. While I realize a portion of the issue is due to the fact that we chose to spread our vaccination schedule, it in no way accounts for the shoddy record reading/keeping or the disrespect with which we were treated. We will not be returning.

We had an awful, 8 mo. experience with this business. We also never met our pediatrician, and worked with the nurses. Specifically, Dana, who we communicated with for about 4 months about an issue with my 4 year old child. This issue being no where near fatal, and mildly dangerous. We also discussed that we have researched, and throughly studied this soon to be diagnosis. As parents we decided, because of my sons young age we wanted to TRY natural treatments before putting our son on a daily intense medication with side effects including: mental illness, bone loss, weakness of the muscular system, drowsiness, insomnia, rashes, blurred vision, weight loss, slurred speech, hepatitis, lupus, depression, and mood swings. So we set up all of the appointments from accupucture to nutrition, and set the deadline for one year. Talking to Dana with purely open communication and offering her all of our information on our decision she refused then argued with us at every, single, appointment. This was extremely unprofessional and disappointing, as we would hope that our ped. office would desire what is best for the child. We felt as if she was uneducated (as 47% of the USA use holistic treatments), and egotistical by disregarding that there could be any other option other than hers. The good news is that we recently found an office Stapleton Pediatrics that supports our decision, and uses ALL forms of treating the human body. Also, we have had extremely good results with our holistic treatments. As for my family and I we will spread word about this horrible experience. Any one that desires a Dr. that actually cares about the best intrest of your child, should not go to this pediatrician.

I would give this practice a 5, however, Ive experienced long wait times (beyond our appointment time) with some of the doctors. Ive also dealt with rude nurses and front desk staff, typically toward the end of the day (maybe they experience long, difficult days, but they shouldnt take it out on the patient and parents.) We have been seeing the main practice doctor Gablehouse for the last few visits. He is amazing!!...always on time and so informative. He goes above and beyond offering advice or answers to questions you didnt even know you had. Unfortunately, when my baby is sick I cannot see him due to high demand and he is not always at the same location. But we see another doctor (Jessica). She is so sweet. She is good with babies and I trust her care when my baby is sick. She has a good nurse as well, his name is Irving. He is the only nurse that has ever showed patience and is good at handling a crying baby. Weve had nurses that seem extremely irritated when my baby is crying or scared, but this specific nurse is awesome. Also, they are very clean and you can usually smell Lysol or disinfectant in the air which is comforting to know they do their best preventing spread of illness and germs. Be warned, your experience will definitely be dependent upon time of day and staff you see for your appointment.
