I went there over 8 years ago on a 72 hour hold which lasted about a week, 6 days to be exact, before I was finally able to leave and go home. While I was there, there were quite a few people who acted out of line but only because of their mental anguish and psychotic episodes. And because I was staying there, I saw for the first time, in my life really, others either were suffering from drug abuse to Manic depression,, Schizonphrenia and etc. I behaved well and kept cool even when people acted out due to their problems. Other than that, I was calm and kept my cool. It certainly paid off. The only social problems there were patients arguing with each other or with staff members and doctors; including a rumor of male staff members watching or looking at women taking showers and etc. other than that, I kept cool. The only thing I thought that was disappointing was the fact that you only got one meal a day and no second helpings and no internet access in which they told me that they didnt have enough funding for it.

I interviewed with Dawn and panel. The interview panel (and Dawn) was very professional and questions were based on actual things that may happen. This is the first interview I have been to since earning my Masters where there was actually application questions which were asked. The staff I met seemed to be very caring and understanding. The interview panel I met with did not seem to be what some might consider "typical state employees". It was a privilege to meet and interview with them. Thank you guys for the interview!

If you are masochistic this place is heaven. My stay lasted about 4 months, and in that time my days were fully structured, with set times for eating, groups, exercise, “free time” and quite times. We were required to participate in all activities or they would think you needed more medications. One time I was especially anxious and requested a calming drug and instead was maced and carried to another room where they strapped me to a board prior to allowing me to have the medication.

I called as I received letters from my mother from this place and requested I call her and I was given an attitude as well staff being completely unhelpful. If they treat their patients anything like they treat worried family members then Im extremely worried for my mothers safety and mental health.

I had a stay there because of a suicide attempt when I was 17. My stay consisted of verbal abuse, lack of food/water, lack of access to the bathroom and threats of physical violence against me(from the staff). You think people would compassionate to the suicidal, but I guess not =/.

My son had a court ordered stay of 3 months. Bi-polar and addictions. He is now 2 years later only a semester from an Associates degree as a mental health counselor to help others just like himself. Bravo! to the staff that made this possible.
