Thursday, October Let me start by stating, I gave them 1 star so I could do a review. I normally do not do reviews, however, I had to warn all other prospective patients about our experience. My husband and I just moved to Lubbock and had no idea where to go, Covenant was recommeded so I took my husband to the ER there. He has a history of blood clots, DVTs, Factor V blood clot disorder, has had 2 triple bypasses and more medical history. The nurse was very nice and the student was VERY compassionate. The ultrasound tech was VERY unprofessional, in that he snickered when he would push on my husbands leg and groin causing immense pain during the ultrasound. However, the CT personnel were VERY compassionate, his vein blew while they were infusing the contrast, they were very apologetic and caring by massaging the area to dissipate the fluid, the gentleman even came back to the ER to check on him and make sure the lump was receding. The ER nurse came in and told my husband they were going to admit him, but no additional information as to what was wrong, she should have just told him the doctor was on his way. However, when the doctor FINALLY figured out what was wrong and was going to admit him, he had VERY BAD, ~if any~ bedside manner. My husband told him about the ultrasound tech, and the doctor called him a liar. My husband was in a lot of pain and was scared because he was given little information, so we left AMA. The so-called "professional doctor" would not even give me any information. I will NEVER go to Covenant for an emergency again nor would I recommend anyone else go there. I wouldnt even take my dog to Covenant Medical Center ER. We went to UMC the next day, Friday, they were VERY professional and compassionate. Victoria, the nurse in the ER at UMC was a VERY caring and compassionate nurse, she was on top of the situation. The worst bedside manners I have ever experienced nurses are dirty they are verbally abusive and do not take hand washing a must I would never recommend this hospital for anyone or even their pets!! I was treated like trash they did not give me my medication as my dr ordered when I called for help to the bathroom they ignored me until they felt like taking me I had just had surgery and was bleeding the nurse acted like she could care less! When I spoke to the charge nurse she was so angry with me for reporting this to her that I went through hell! As I was ignored every time I called for meds or bathroom assistance the doc who came in just released me without listening to anything I left with 100 temp and they did not even give my meds! Please save yourself or loved ones and stay away from this hospital of horrors!!!!!!

was told my husband would receive the same level of care in the specialty care hospital as the covenant icu . not true. Specialty Drs. only come over 2 days week and didnt come to see patient just looked at chart. Any major test such as CT or MRI patient has to transported by ambulance to the main hospital, dont see how that can be good for a patient on a vent and having multiple organ problems. I can say the dialysis team was excellent. We did have some outstanding nurses, respitory therapist, and aides. The hospital needs to hire more aides because they over work the ones they have staffed. Dr Kadalyali our lung doctor and Dr. Rose our kidney dr were two specialty drs that we did see everyday and provided the family with understandable care that was being provided to the patient .

Awful experience. Went to get an earring back removed from my ear that had attatched itself to the skin inside. Was in extreme pain because a previous clinic had tried to rip it out. Waited an hour and a half to be seen where all that happened was a person looked into my ear and said I would have to see an ear doctor instead so I thought I would just leave since they couldnt do anything but no. I had to copay $200 for them to look in my ear for 5 seconds. They just prescribed me pain pills for until I could see the ear doctor the next day and left me waiting in pain for an additional hour. Never coming here again.

AVOID THIS HOSPITAL!!! They have a very long history of MRSA infections for all surgeries preformed there!!! They were just dropped down to a B or C rating by the National Board because of their sky high infection rate. My mom got MRSA when she had her mastectomy. Took her THREE YEARS to recover. Neighbor across the street got MRSA after a hip replacement. Took her three more surgeries and going for further treatment in Dallas. Shes permanently in a wheelchair now in her 50s from this. I could go on and on.
