WORST ORAL SURGERY EXPERIENCE EVER! 1. Poor communication/Cost discrepancies. 2. Dr. and staff do not listen to their patients. 3. Anesthesia was not properly administered. My daughter has a long medical history including 2 leukemia treatments and a bone marrrow transplant. Dr. Pollacia was made aware of my daughters history and need of additional meds due to her increased tolerance from said medical history. Our bad experience started with the receptionist presenting me with a bill of $811 (estimate at consult was $695 AFTER talking to my insurance) prior to her being taken back. When questioned as to the difference between the estimate and the final bill the receptionist stated that the office had a change in staff and apologized that we had not been made aware of the significant increase in the cost to us. I was there to have my daughters teeth pulled so I just paid the new amount. Once my daughter was taken back the staff started prepping her left arm for the IV. She told the staff that her left vein would not work because it had collapsed during a botched attempted PIC line placement some years before. The staff ignored her and tried to start the IV in her left arm which of course didnt work. After much fishing around they started the IV in her right arm without any problems. After a little over an hour I was called back by the Dr. to discuss my daughters situation. He stated that she had only 2 of 4 wisdom teeth removed due to the fact that she had an adverse reaction (hyperventilation and increased heart rate) to the sedation. I told him that she had received the exact same mix of drugs (Versed and Propofol) for sedation dozens of times for spinal taps, bone marrow aspirations etc. with no problem and that her reaction was due to the fact that she had not received enough meds. He disagreed and said that he would only remove the other 2 wisdom teeth using local anesthetic and one at a time. He would not even consider the fact that he had improperly anesthetized her. I question whether he even looked at her history before starting work on her. I then went back to see my daughter who was clearly distraught. The assistant/nurse told me that many people react that way to the drugs and that she would “forget everything”. This is not true at all for my daughter and she clearly wasn’t anesthetized enough. The assistant then proceeded to give me the post-op instructions. She told me that my daughter should not need the Percocet at all but only use Ibuprofen. I told her she was wrong and that due to my daughter’s medical history, Ibuprofen would not even work for her and that she would definitely need to take Percocet. The woman looked at me blankly as if she hadn’t heard anything about a medical history on my daughter. We left that office and will never return. I will make sure everyone I know with teens hears this story as I would never want this to happen to anyone. Of course my daughter “woke up” during the extraction of the second wisdom tooth and remembers everything and gave me a full account of what happened. It was a terribly traumatizing experience for her. In the end I was forced to pay roughly $620 to have 1/2 her wisdom teeth removal and she felt completely tortured. I now have to find a new provider to finish the job properly.

I recently had 3 teeth pulled here (31,32,33). 2 decaying teeth that needed to go and my wisdom next to them. At the time of consult I asked if my wisdom needed pulled since were pulling the other 2? The doc suggested that we take it out, ok, Im not a dentist, I guess thats what were doing. So I had the procedure done. They put me out and next thing you know I wake up and theyre still working on me and they quickly put me back out. I wake up after, dazed and confused, and head home relieved that its over. Over the next few days I started noticing a string ticking my throat but I was afraid to feel over there with my tongue so i didnt disturb the wounds. The ticking continued so i investigated and found stitches halfway up my cheek. Thats cool. No one said they stitched me up, surprise. Since then I have not regained feeling in my lower right jaw nor have I regained jaw strength back. Im disappointed that the doctor decided to risk permanent nerve damage knowing my wisdom was deeply impacted, knowing damn well its not going to hurt anything keeping it in there. Im 33 my teeth are already crowded. Very disappointed in the decision making and after care. I would hope a dentist i put my trust in would have my best interests in mind and not their own. And i feel they only removed my wisdom because its named "just wisdom teeth" or to make more money off of me or because "Were already in there " haha. Never again.

The ONLY reason Im giving this place 2 Stars is because everyone else that works here is awesome and respectful (Besides Dr. Nino D. Pollaccia)and my wisdom teeth removal went OK. But last Friday was my final check up and it went quick and smooth until my boyfriend asked Dr. Nino D. Pollaccia if he had given me the syringe needed to clean my holes where my wisdom teeth once were (doing his part as a good boyfriend, nothing less), and in response; this supposed "Professional/Dr." stated to my boyfriend that he has been "smoking too much bud" and proceeded to laugh about it and we could clearly hear him laughing and joking about it to his colleagues who work beside him. How EMBARRASSING, DISRESPECTFUL and RUDE!! He ASSUMED my boyfriend was high on weed because he did not see that I already had the syringe in my hand. But the main thing here is UN-PROFESSIONALISM!!!!!! Which should NOT be coming from an institution like this. How awful! Being a Google Guide, I WAS going to write a 5 Star review and recommend this place but after experiencing that, I WOULDNT recommend this place to my worst enemy. Stay away!

Do NOT get wisdom teeth taken out here. My fiancé went in to get her wisdom teeth and they improperly sedated her which led to her being awake for the whole surgery screaming and they were only able to remove 3 teeth. They were rude to her about the pain and were yelling at her to be quiet which I could hear from the waiting room. And at the end of all of this they rushed us out the employee door to the car not even rescheduling a appointment at another office to get her last infected wisdom tooth removed, and they failed to give her pain medication for the car ride home like they said they would. These people are rude, unprofessional and need to be looked into by the state.

I love the people that work here. From the front desk, to the gentleman that handled my insurance everyone made this terrible(lets be honest, getting teeth removed sucks) adventure not so bad. Incredibly friendly staff. My nurse, the surgeons assistant, was a charm! She was friendly, compassionate, and very helpful. She answered all my questions, and put my fears to rest. Even after i woke up from anesthesia I got great care. She genuinely seemed to enjoy her job. My surgeon was great too, very professional, and got the job done very quickly. I highly recommend this place for tooth extraction needs.
