My entire family has been going to Dr. Kemp for several years. We’ve always received excellent service and care. Dr. Kemp is definitely one of a kind. That being said…. I have to tell this story. A few years back, our insurance had changed and at the time…Dr. Kemp’s office wasn’t accepting that type of insurance. We made the decision to go to another eye doctor that was accepting our insurance. Big, big mistake. We received mediocre service, a horrible selection of eyewear and a general feeling that this well-known Doctor’s office did not care. They just had a revolving door of patients and I was just one of many. I dealt with this awful service for 3 years. When my husband called and found out that Dr. Kemp did in fact accept our insurance, I was so relieved. My first appointment back was like coming home. And guess what? Dr. Kemp recognized me. Sure, I’m one of many patients, but Dr. Kemp takes the time to talk to his patients and you leave his office feeling like you are a friend. Not to mention, hes an excellent doctor and his selection of glasses and contact lenses is top notch! If you are in need of quality eye care, I highly recommend Kemp Eyecare. I have been a patient of Dr. Kemp since he first joined the practice when it was called New England Eyecare. Dr. Kemp is an outstanding eye doctor and I have a great deal of trust in him. He is warm, kind and courteous as a person and, as a doctor, he is professional and thorough. Dr. Kemp always takes the time to explain his findings. He always asks if I have any questions and, if I do, he spends as much time as needed to answer them and educate me. The staff at Kemp Eyecare are wonderful, too: The front desk manager (who always remembers my name no matter how long its been!), the eye wear technician who literally has spent hours with me while I tried to choose a frame, and all of the other individuals that have worked there over the years. My children have been seeing Dr. Kemp since their first eye exam - for my oldest it was probably over 20 years ago. I have referred many friends to Dr. Kemp and they have been grateful to have found an eye doctor like him. I highly recommend this eye care practice and, especially, Dr. Kemp.

Ive been a patient of Dr. Kemps for over 10 years, since the practice was called New England Eye Care. Ive had nothing but great experiences with all the staff. I moved a few towns away but have no intention of finding a new eye care team. They are all professional, warm and knowledgeable in their particular area of work. Dr. Kemp always greets you with a warm smile and a firm handshake. After the exam he asks if you have questions and is thorough in his explanations. When it comes to picking out new glasses, Tim is very helpful. He is always happy to fix my glasses when they start to slide down my nose or the ear pieces need to be tightened. I would definitely recommend Kemp Eyecare.

I have been a patient of Dr. Kemp for about 25 years. Yes, 25 years! I believe I was among his first patients when he joined New England Eyecare (now Kemp Eyecare). Not only is Dr. Kemp an exceptional doctor, he is an exceptional individual. He treats the person and not just the eyes or the symptoms. I recently relocated to New York City and, unfortunately, have found it too difficult to maintain being a patient in West Hartford due to geographical/transportation constraints. And, if I EVER had a significant problem with my eyes, I would do what I needed to do and go see him. I trust him implicitly and I will always consider him be to my eye doctor. Matthew D. Goetz

When I first moved to CT, 21 years ago, is when I became a patient of Dr. Kemp. I jokingly say, but am very serious, when he retires is when I will find a new doctor. I stay with Dr. Kemp because he is the type of doctor that explains exerything to you and gives you the one-on-one attention that youd expect to receive from your doctor. He has an amazing staff, always friendly and willing to work with you. As far as wait times, you may wait 5 minutes before you are taken back to the exam room. If you need a doctor he is my recommendation

Environment was clean, organized. All of the staff are respectful, approachable, and helpful. Dr. Kemp is knowlegeable, explains things well, and approachable as well. Tim, the person on the floor who helps you with your glasses, was great as well and in fact adjusted the glasses that I was wearing that day as they keep slipping down my nose. They are open late on Thursdays and open during Saturdays also, which is great if you commute far from work, you can actually make it back in time for an appt.

Just moved to Weha...decided to try Dr. Kemp because I heard he was good. Ive never left a review for a doctor, but the experience exceeded my expectations. I was honestly surprised at how thorough his exam was. He did things that my other doctor never did, like check my tear ducts. He took his time and didnt rush me out like some other doctors do. The staff was nice. No complaints.

Dr. Kemp has been my eye doctor for many years. I’ve always felt he and his staff give a very thorough and comprehensive eye exam. They have all the necessary equipment and ask all the right questions to provide a professional exam. He and his staff have always been very professional and concerned for their patient’s eye health. I would highly recommend Kemp Eyecare.

Dr. Kemp is extremely thorough and knowledgeable, and always takes the time to explain what hes doing and what he sees in every test he performs. I understand my eyes better through his care. The customer service feels genuine from the receptionist down to being helped with picking out your glasses. Dr Kemp is great as well. His practice overall has a very welcoming atmosphere.
