I just went through the absolute worst experience of my LIFE! I will NEVER again take my pets to this place. My dog hasnt been feeling well so we went in to see what was going on. We were on time for our appointment (actually a few minutes early) and they kept us waiting for an entire hour!!! My dog is already not feeling well and now hes becoming more and more on edge. Their rooms are VERY small and they are definitely not set up to handle a giant breed dog - I have a Great Dane. Regardless, I stayed and attempted to give them the benefit of the doubt because this is where he started as a puppy and it was simply more convenient (or so I thought). After being taken into the room they made me take my leash off and they put a very small nylon lead around his neck...something you would use in a show ring - NOT in a situation like this. I told the tech I was not comfortable with her doing this - he is a very large dog and there was no way to keep control of him with that. She proceeded to tell me that I basically didnt have a choice. At this point she decided it was time to put him on the table so he would be ready for the vet to see him - keep in mind that this "table" she wanted him on has a lift and isnt wide at all! I, again, told her I was uncomfortable and that I didnt want him on there...if he was lifted into the air and slipped he could hurt himself. Why couldnt the vet just examine him while he stood on the ground? Again, I was told I didnt have a choice and that he would be fine. I helped him onto the table and the tech lifted it about a foot and a half to two feet. I stood right at his side to ensure he wouldnt slip off and tried my best to keep him calm. It became obvious at that point that this girl was trying to get me out of the way because she was attempting to put herself between me and my dog, however I wouldnt move. The entire time this was happening they had the door to the back room open so my poor dog saw that as a way to get out of this extremely small room that had numerous things hanging low and spinning from the ceiling - his anxiety was getting worse. Dr. Woodie decided to make an entrance finally - over an hour after his scheduled appointment time. She stepped up to my dog and began speaking very loudly - she was completely oblivious that he was becoming more and more nervous. Shortly after she came into the room he attempted to back off of the table to get away from her. Please keep in mind that my boy is VERY sweet and loves people...in fact another customer in the waiting room brought her infant daughter over to play with him while we waited. I stepped behind him to catch his weight before he fell and looked up to see the vet tech literally choking my dog with their line!!! I couldnt believe it! She just kept pulling and pulling on it and he started thrashing to get away from her - instead of listening to me as I was yelling at her to let go of him she just kept right on pulling! I saw my dog reach his breaking point and he opened his mouth...I knew without a doubt that he was ready to bite her to protect himself. Thank goodness my husband stepped up and physically took him off of the table and away from those fools. He proceeded to tell them that it was obvious they had no idea what they were doing...they did NOT know how to treat an animal properly let alone handle them. I am appalled by what happened today and broken hearted for my pet. I received no apology, no reason for their actions...absolutely no reaction at all from the vet so Ive pulled his records and will be taking him elsewhere. I can only hope that our boy doesnt remember this experience and let it scare him in the future :( PLEASE DO NOT TAKE YOUR ANIMALS HERE!!!!

Dr. Woody is Extremely concerned about money and tries to weasel her way into your pocketbook. I have never seen her she concern or affection for our pets. Our 13 y/o neutered cat usually stays inside but slipped out for a couple hours one warm evening. He had an abrasion on his shoulder that bothered him and seemed infected a few days later. Dr. Woody briefly glanced at our cat and said she was sure he was bitten by a feral/wild animal. She advised putting him in isolation in HER boarding kennel for several months. She refused to speculate what it would cost. We argued over her presumptive diagnosis (my wife and I are both medical professionals). She then reviewed her records and admitted she gave him a rabies shot but he was perhaps one week past due (370 days I believe). She and the techs were handling the cat over one hour without rabies gloves during her so-called concerns about rabies - that is until I argued that if she thought he had rabies they were very casual about his handling. Then, of course she changed her composure, became shrill and scolded her techs for nor wearing gloves (funny how she made no excuses for her not wearing rabies gloves). She told me she had the power to keep my cat until I demanded she call the rabies control on call state vet. She called and I believe I overheard the state vet mention, "youre making a mountain out of a molehill" as my cat was just a few days over the annual shot. The state public health rabies consultant recommended discharging my cat back to me. Dr. Woody wanted to give my cat a rabies shot then but I informed her she was fired and I found another vet the next day. For her cursory exam and a couple hours of being "held hostage" I paid a pretty price. I recall a bill for almost $200. I paid $200 for one quick peek at my cats shoulder, 45 minutes of very slick fear - mongering talk, and then arguing for at least an hour about how she can & will red-tag my cat for up to six months in her facility. In sum, she is money greedy, she seems disinterested in making any connection with the animal patients, and on this occasion she was unprofessional with me customer and her staff when she is upset. Buyer Beware. If not, get ready to be have your pet held for ransom if she can find any angle to legitimize charging big money for minimal service.

Do not, I repeat DO NOT take your pet to All Pets Medical Center, Smyrna, DE - my sister and I took my moms 15 year old dog to the Vets. My mom called to see if they could get us in and told the girl on the phone that she thinks the dog is going to need to be put down. When we got there, the clerk asked if we wanted an exam and try to save the dog or if we decided to put the dog down. As hard as it was, my mom said he was in to much pain and said to put her beloved dog out of his misery so within 5 minutes of walking in, they knew what the end result was going to be. No exam, didnt want to know if it was a stroke or not, just there to put the dog out of his misery. TWO and a HALF hours, YES 2 1/2 hours later, we are still sitting in the waiting room while the dog is shaking and scared to death and my sister and myself are having anxiety over what we are about to do and they could care less. FINALLY, when they call us in my sister takes the dog in (I just couldnt) and the Vet comes and give the dog a tranqualizer and tells my sister she will be back shortly - ARE YOU SERIOUS? Unfortunately, I have had to put several pets down and its been ONE needle, quick and painless and off to Heaven they go.....but no, not here. Then she comes in to give the dog a needle that puts him to sleep and says she will be back in shortly to give him a needle to stop the heart. You have got to be kidding - 3 needles to put this dog to sleep - UNREAL!!! Finally once all is done, she wraps up the dog, puts the dog in the box my sister gave her and hands the box to my sister who almost lost it and she didnt even bother to close the lid of the box but just hand my sister the box with dog staring right at my sister. Putting a beloved pet down is one of the hardest experiences in life but to have to endure what we and the dog had to go through was just heartless, cold, unreal and uncalled for. Never again, will I go back to this Vet - her and her staff are cold and heartless.
