I would never ever go back to this hospital or recommend it to anyone. I came in with pain on my right side (I have really bad cysts and problems with my ovaries) I knew it wasnt my appendix told them that, but they insisted on doing a CT-Scan anyways to rule it out. As soon as it came back that it "wasnt" that they sent me home and told me to come back tomorrow so that they could recheck me. I was crying I was in so much pain! Then he gives me a prescription for IBS meds god knows why. I told him I wanted him to check my ovaries and everything else and he wouldnt do it. The staff was awful and they nurse about killed me when she did the IV (giant bruise for days), and lord help me they didnt even give me fluids like they were supposed to. I got a call over the weekend from them and they told me that I needed to come back in due to my white blood count being off. I refused to go back and was told to at least go to another facility. I went to Celebration Hospital (which is amazing btw) and they found cysts, adhesion and when I was finally able to get an appt with an gyno I was told that I had endometriosis on my appendix and it would need to be removed. Seems that these people dont have a clue what they are talking about! On top of it all my insurance wasnt active yet, so when I called to get assistance I was told I couldnt have any and if I couldnt meet the monthly payments they would send me to collections. If I could rate 0 stars I would. If I hadnt have been in so much pain I would have just gone to Celebration from the start, but there is no way I could have driven that far. Go anywhere but here they are awful!!!

Reference Bartow Regional Hospital Staff Recognition; On the evening of 6/5/17, I and my husband Perry had an Emergency Room visit, and sincere pleasure of meeting PA James Sellers and Nurse Heidi Gonzales. Based on their amazingly gracious, kind, and caring demeanor, exemplary professionalism, knowledge, competence, and ability to diagnose my husband’s condition, while at the same time have numerous high level emergent situations going on, they still provided care with a smile, and calmness that needs to be noted. Hence this letter of recognition for PA Sellers and Nurse Gonzales and of course their colleagues whom all work in tandem to deliver the highest level of care. Thank you to all, for providing such a secure feeling of trustworthiness, that’s huge! Specially during a time when you feel so vulnerable because your emotions are running high with worry, and you’re filled with some fear mixed with anxiety and pain, so it’s such a comfort to know that when we go to Bartow Regional Hospital we know that the level of care plus all the other accolades duly mentioned above will be a part of the equation and hence we walk away with such a pleasurable experience. In short we feel that when we are cared for by people like PA Sellers and Nurse Gonzales we feel like we are at home being cared for by our own loving family…..only these folks really know what they’re doing!!!

I presented myself last week with low grade fever, blood in urine and stool (already confirmed by primary dr). also severe dehydration confirmed by primary. i have 2 referrals..one to GI dr and one to Urologist. I cant seem them for at least a month. I also have chest pain, pain btwn breast bone, pain on left side of belly button, and pain along my urinary/female organs. I cannot eat or drink. it makes me very sick. I feel nauseaus all the time. when i do eat..once a day...within an hour...i feel like cement has been poured in my stomach....poor bowel movements, now hard to urinate..lots of gas..i was crying. they sent me home with zofran and bentyl, which neither work for very long. Dr Brian James finally came in at the end and said i dont fit criteria to be admitted. I will never go back to this hospital again and I suggest you dont try it. I swear if my health is ill-affected because they undertreated me, i am going to sue them. that is a fact. they also said all my bloodwork was in my discharge papers..only to find out when I got home, none of them were there. doc said wait for referral appts in over a month. I WILL NEVER EVER GO THERE, MY KIDS WONT, MY PARENTS WONT, MY FRIENDS WONT, AND MY LIVING GRANDPARENTS WONT. PLEASE TAKE MY WARNING SERIOUSLY. I AM LAYING ON THE COUCH RIGHT NOW WITH NO ENERGY..FEELING LIKE MY BOWEL AND URINARY TRACT IS GOING TO EXPLODE

This is a hospital you could injure yourself and die in. I was admitted for chest pains and sever headache. I passed out in the bathroom and when I came to I could not stand up as I was still very dizzy and sweating profusely. I had to drag myself on the floor back to the bed and it took all the strength I had to pull myself up onto the bed. I had rang for the nurse but after 20 minutes the one who checked on me was the cleaning woman. After she went and told the nurse(even though I could clearly hear the call button sounding at the nurses station the entire time). The nurse finally came in and I told her what had happened then she told me no way was it over 20 minutes..the clock on the wall faced my bed and I made sure to check the time when I went to the bathroom and when I came out. So basically she was calling me a liar. Plus their "new 3 day old portable heart monitor" was not working right either... but the numbers I had been seeing on that gadget were no way right according to them and never recorded any differences. I checked myself out AMA.. I would rather die in my bed then ever go back there...they were rude and telling me I must have looked at the monitor upside down dozens of times and apparently at my age.. 60..I cant tell time either. So calling patients a liar seems to be how they cover their butt for their poor care.

My wife was admitted to the ACU unit on 2-16-16. From the moment she was brought to the Er by ambulance until she was discharged on 2-20-16 everyone was professional and courteous, You could plainly see that all of the staff were truly concerned and willing to do what ever possible to make her stay as comfortable as possible. The few times needed in our lives we have always went to LRMC and always have had issues with rude nurses or staff. This was not the case at Bartow, The staff there is amazing and a pleasure to be around all the way down to the doctor that had nothing to do with my wife that asked me how she was doing and showed genuine concern for her health while in the elevator. Not that we plan on it but Bartow will be our first and only choice for care if needed. I would also like to make a special commendation for Abraham who brought the food to my wifes room everyday. He was a very stand up guy that truly cared about his job the patients and their family. All he had to do was drop off and pick up food however he made it a point to ask how my wife was doing and ask if she or anyone needed anything, He was a great guy and should be awarded for his kindness and compassion.
