I had to take my kitty in to an emergency clinic a few weeks ago for urinary blockage. I first took him to the Animal Emergency Center on Lake Underhill in Orlando (DO NOT GO THERE!!), but had to bring him back to another clinic after my vet closed, so I chose this one. The entire staff was exceedingly nice and welcoming to both me and my cat. After the necessary paperwork and legalities, they took him right back and even let me hold him while they administered the first medicine. The vet techs (especially Bailey) were very knowledgeable and did everything they could to calm me and my concerns. When it came time for payment, they provided a low-ball and high-ball estimate, and then had me pay half of the high-ball, which is much better than the A.E.C. I then payed the remainder (only a fraction of my deposit) when I picked my cat up. They even provided a copy of their notes that they took while caring for my cat, showing me exactly what they did, and when. I unfortunately had to bring my cat back to them this past weekend for another urinary blockage (not caused by anything the V.E.C. did). The Doctor and vet techs remembered my cat and took him in as an old friend. I picked him up this morning and while reading through their notes, I came across one entry that really struck me. It read "Patient is laying sternally at front of kennel, crying occasionally. Patient just wants some love, stops crying when ears are scratched." I love my cat very much, and to know that he was crying pains me a great deal. However, knowing that the staff at the V.E.C took the time and patience to stand there and pet him to comfort him means the world to me. The first place I took him a few weeks ago, the A.E.C., charged me about $2000 for a 12 hour stay, a urinary catheter, and some medicine. The V.E.C. charged me about $700 for a Saturday afternoon-Monday morning stay, a urinary catheter, and some medicine; obviously a much better price. But more than that, each time I left my cat in their care, I left knowing that he was in good hands. If you are ever unlucky enough to have to take your pet to the ER, youll find no better place than the Veterinary Emergency Clinic in Casselberry.

I had a beautiful Weimaraner pass away at this hospital. I feel sad at this hospital as memories of my beautiful dog flood my mind with visions of her traumatic death. I can say the staff & Dr were amazing and did everything they could to save her. The Dr was honest with me in her prognosis, however I continued to push them to try more. Im sure any human being could understand why I wouldnt want to stay there for an unnecessary amount of time. The staff understood as well. I took my new baby in just tonight. He had a corneal ulcer that I feared had ruptured. I was running on no sleep and they were very busy. I saw family members in tears in the waiting room. I knew my dogs eye was the least severe case so I knew we would be waiting. I cant say that I mind waiting really, because when my Weimaraner was dying, the staff and Dr were doing everything they could while patients with less severe cases were patient with me. I kept asking for an ETA. I knew all they could do was give him additional pain meds if rupture had occurred, however, I wanted my dog out of pain. I was told they could not give me an ETA bc of shift change and how busy they were. I begged the lady to just please tell me if it had ruptured. She immediately took my dog back to visit the Dr and 5 minutes later told me that rupture had not occurred but to see the vet in the a.m. I was so relieved and running to grab my CC when she said, "Dont worry about it!". Huh? Really? Every vet Ive been to charges me $100 to walk in the door! These people truly care not only about your pet, but about YOUR comfort and satisfaction. I cant thank them enough! I will be sleeping soundly next to my baby boy tonight!! A HUGE Thanks to the staff and Dr who felt my anxiety and went above and beyond to give me peace of mind. No amount of money can buy that!

We brought our dog, Charlie, in because the left side of her face was drooping and we were very concerned she had a stroke or something terrible. The tech, Glory (?), came in and started talking loudly and grabbing at my dogs face without getting in her level or playing with her. My dog got scared and snapped at the techs hand. So now the whole clinic has labeled my dog aggressive. I would like to point out that my dog has seen several different vets who have had to look and probe at her face before and she has NEVER snapped at any of them. So now, the vet, Steven Schindler, walks in yelling towards my dog. He is a tall man with a very loud voice who never attempts to introduce himself to her or get on her level. He refuses to go near her until we have put a muzzle on her. He never examined her droopy mouth, just looked from across the room. Only looks in her ears for a few seconds. We asked if he could see the clear cut on her lip (he didnt even need to touch her to see it), and he said no. He never attempted to ease her nerves or work with her. He offered to sedate her, but said he would just give her antibiotics no matter what. So we did not sedate our dog unnecessarily if she would get the same treatment either way. After the ear check, no one would touch or go near our dog. When another tech came in to give us the medicine, she looked afraid of our dog, though had no reason to. We were also told they didnt want to attempt to take our dogs temperature, so if she was not better in a couple days that could be an issue. We paid $95 for a vet exam they barely even conducted. We will never come back. If I could give it 0 stars, I would. They need animal sensitivity training. At the very least, they need to be friendlier to the animals and owners.

I took my dog there Wednesday night having seizures, she has encephelitus and was their back in March because of non stop seizures, at that time they kept her overnight, and told me I could pick her up on Sunday instead of Monday. I still had to pay for 2 days of hospitalization. $800. I did not fuss because she was better. Last week I lost my debit card and am currently waiting to get a new one in the mail, so I told them I could write a check show them my acct that I had more than enough funds to cover the bill. I have already spent $3,000 on treating her. The woman became argumentative that they do not take checks and it is on signs everywhere. I told her I would bring the cash back in the morning to replace the check when the bank was open, that was not satifactory as they close 1/2 hour before the bank opens. She told me I could goto the check cashing place on 436 and 17/92, hmmm one of them closed up months ago, and Amscot was closed for the night it was 3 am. I had to take my dog with me against AMA, they werent going to treat her unless I gave them cash or a credit card to cover the $1000 bill. They are great if you have the cash or debit/credit card to pay them instantly but otherwise your animal can die. I will find another 24 hour vet and never goto this clinic again, my regular vet would never have treated me or my animal this way, and I have been to this place plenty of times in the past its not like they have never seen me before. They are in it for the money not the love and care of animals!!! My Pebbles was put down the next morning as the seizures caused too much damage.
