This review is for the boarding facility only as I have never used the actually hospital part. First, I called ahead of time (Tuesday) to see if I needed to make an appointment to board my dogs the following day (Wednesday) and I was told that it wasnt needed because there were plenty of openings available and to just stop by on Wednesday. So I show up on Wednesday only to be told they had no kennels available and they were booked up for weeks. Very aggravating but nothing I can do, so I leave, get into my car and as I started to back out of my spot the woman comes outside and knocks on my door and asks if I can board my dogs together, she can move another dog to make room. Great. I fill all the information out, my personal information, my emergency contacts and my dog information and drop the dogs off. Good to go right? Wrong. After boarding my dogs on Wednesday and coming in at 0915 on Sunday to pick them up, I was asked the names of my dogs and I was told they didnt have them in the system. They asked my name and couldnt find me in their system either. Trying to control my anger I told them that I dropped them off Wednesday and I knew there were here. So the girl behind the counter pulled up all the names they had for my dogs name and low and behold they listed my dogs under my emergency contacts name with my ER contacts phone number. At this point Im extremely pissed because I just left my dogs in this kennel for 4 nights and you didnt even have my information right? There is literally no excuse for that. Oh and when I finally get my dogs, the harnesses they were dropped off wearing werent even put on right. You work at a dog kennel handling dogs and cats daily and you cant put on a harness correctly? A huge indicator to me that your personnel need more training. I wont even go into detail about the price but for the way it was run, definitely not worth what I paid. If there wasnt a death in the family which required me to leave when I needed to, I would not have used this place based on the price alone. So why did I give this place two stars? I asked for my dogs nails to be trimmed and whoever the groomer was that did the nail trimming actually did an excellent job. So to recap, not only was I told there was plenty of room when there wasnt and I wasnt put in their system in any form whatsoever even though I filled out the paperwork, this facility was over priced and unable to handle even simple tasks. I will not be using them again.

I have been taking my three cats to Companion for over two years now. I trust the vets there because they seem to genuinely care about your pet (I have been to other vets where it is obvious that they are more concerned with what is in your wallet). Case in point: I first went to Companion to schedule a dental cleaning for my cat, since they had a special that month. The vet examined my cat and told me that her teeth were fine and it wasnt worth it to anesthetize her. I have been very happy with the service provided. My six year old cat developed a breathing problem that caused her lung to collapse, re-inflate, and then fill up with fluid. Dr. Crosslin spent several hours (on her own time) making multiple phone calls to experts and sending them radiographs and did not give up until she had a diagnosis: chronic bronchitis/asthma. Who would have thought? Since being on steroids and an inhaler, my cat has been much better. I find that the vets at Companion tend to start with the least complicated diagnosis and work their way up, instead of starting off with a scary diagnosis. For example, if I were to bring a cat in that hadnt used the litterbox for several days, they would first assume that the cat was constipated, give them an enema, and see if the cat got better. If the cat did not, then they would try some other diagnosis. This is in comparison to another vet that I went to in Miami where they thought my three year old cat might have pancreatic cancer or a host of other scary and expensive illnesses and performed x-rays, ultrasounds, and overnight observation on IV fluids only to make the conclusion the next day that she was probably just constipated and sedate her to give her an enema. Basically, what I mean to say is that the vets at Companion dont try to leverage the love of your pets to try to turn a profit. Obviously they have to make money to stay in business, but they do it through providing excellent service instead of scare tactics. I have found the vets and staff at Companion to be honest and caring. I would definitely recommend Companion Animal Hospital to anyone looking for a new vet!

The entire staff at Companion Animal Hospital is amazing! When my precious cat, Melba, fell ill I googled local animal hospitals. Based on the reviews I chose Companion, and it really was the best choice I ever made. Dr. Hartley and her staff showed an incredible amount of compassion and personal care for my baby. They treated her like the princess she was during her difficult time. After initial emergency surgery, Melbas prognosis didnt look good, but the staff never gave up. They were SO kind, understanding, and compassionate all while maintaining open-ness and honesty. They supported every decision I made regarding her care and assisted me every step of the way. Over the course of a month, I visited the hospital multiple times a week and always had a warm welcome and quick effective service. Sarah was a vet tech who took particularlly excellent care of Melba. After I brought her home Sarah and Dr. Hartley stayed in constant communication to check on Melba and discuss any concerns I had. Dr. Hartley and the staff at Companion Hospital made a lasting impression on me and my family. Unfortunately, Melbas condition was fatal, but I know if love couldve saved Melbas life she truly wouldve lived forever. Ive never experienced the loss of an animal before, and in a time that was so difficult for me, Companion Animal Hospital really made the difference. I cant emphasize enough how great they are. They truly treat pets like their family. I recommend them to every animal lover I know, and If you are looking for a vet you can really trust, look no further. When I adopt again I will choose Dr. Hartley without hesitation. Thank you!!

I very rarely write exceptional reviews about anything but this has been the best care I have ever received ANYWHERE. I am not an easy pet owner and being a human doc, I often can be abrasive stepping on the toes of veterinary professionals. But it’s hard not to love Dr. Epperson and Hartley and all of the staff as they are courteous, compassionate, and respectful. When I was deployed, my dog went into a florid Congestive Heart Failure exacerbation. Dr. Epperson spent so much time with her going over the plan and made sure I had his contact information so I could get in touch with him while I was overseas. We brought buddy in near the end and Dr. Hartley was kind enough to see us same day and even got Buddy to eat for the first time in days, making him a little more comfortable in his final hours. I called the office in tears the next morning, letting them know I wouldn’t be following up because buddy passed during the evening and Dr. Hartley couldn’t have been more compassionate. Despite the fact that there was nothing she could have done and he was an old dog with a very weak heart- I honestly sensed she felt terrible about the situation. I dreaded the drive home from work that day and knew the sight of his empty bed, leash, and fresh grave would bring me to tears. When I walked up the stairs, there were flowers from Companion Animal Hospital. Instead of tears of grievance, I was so happy to see there are people left in this world like Dr. Epperson and Hartley. Thank you Companion Animal Hospital. I can never repay you.
