After a recent very bad experience at another well know Dermatology Center, a close friend and his wife both highly recommended Dr. Gutierrez for a 2nd opinion. Dr. Gutierrez took her time to thoroughly inspect all areas, provide her evaluation and respond to my questions. At no time did I feel that Dr. Gutierrez was rushed to move on. Dr. Gutierrez was even complementary as to the liquid nitrogen treatment that was performed by the other Dermatology Center and that it seemed that all bad growth areas were properly treated. Additionally, wait time was short and the assistants were courteous and helpful with scheduling and throughout the office visit. After visits to 2 very highly rated Dermatology Centers, it is a very easy decision to continue with Dr. Gutierrez. Why I went for a 2nd opinion: The Dr. at the other Dermatology Center rushed through the visit and prescribed to very aggressive drug treatments. Very minor instructions and descriptions of what to expect was provided. I even had to ask if additional area should be treated and response was yes, if you want to "be aggressive and treat both areas at same time". What? go through a bad process twice in 2 areas of close proximity? After researching the treatment on line, I was appalled that so little information and instruction had been provided by the Dr. Applying Flouroplex is not your average topical cream. Though I was the 1st appointment wait time was 45 minutes (staff actually stated that the Dr. always arrives some 30 minutes late, a total disrespect for ones time!). Quality time with a caring doctor that values ones health and time is significantly more important than a fancy office.

Horrible experience. Went to the Key Biscayne location July 5th and after calling for more than a month to find out if my mole was cancerous or benign I finally got the person who picks up the phone annoyed enough to tell me it was benign (what a relief after a month of worrying). I am not a person who calls every day to follow up on things but If I am told someone will call me within a week and no one calls by the second week I will call to follow up just like anyone would, specially in this situation. My experience at the office was not nice either, didnt really had to wait so there is the one star. I went in and was seen by the doctor who saw my skin and told me I have eczema and to treat it with something she will prescribe which then turned out to be a product only sold by them and another pack which I found online for $60 less. Right after looking at my face from a distant the doctor told me "thats it", and then I proceeded to ask about my mole which was my main concern. She said that it looked fine even after I explained it had been growing and it had different colors and hairs on it. She then asked me if I wanted it removed since thats the only way to know if its benign (sounding annoyed), I agreed and asked if it was going to hurt and she said "no" and proceeded with the procedure without explaining ANYTHING she was about to do... I left very unhappy and would not return to this place again.

Overall the experience was underwhelming. When I called to make the appointment no one described to me just what the process involved. My husband was having a basal cell carcinoma removed. When we arrived at the office I was THEN informed that it could possibly be an all day process because after my husband had the cancer removed, he then had to go to another office for surgery to have stitches put in. I found this just awful that no one told us this at the initial appointment phone call. I also received phone calls saying there were problems with my insurance when there was NO problem at all. That was irritating. Kristina was not especially kind or interested and the office staff was not particularly kind either. How about a phone call asking how the patient was doing? All in all we wont be back to your office. Also the follow up visit to the Surgery office was an embarrassment. Sitting in the waiting room for almost 2 hours? Is there not a better way to schedule visits for their patients. Horrible. Please tell both Dr. Khouri s we are not impressed with their medical practice. A cold and uncaring place.

Today I had my basil surgery on my left cheek.Never I had seen a team of persons in the most beautiful environment , more professionals, and willing to please me in every moment that I was there!- My Drs were incredible Susana Leal-Koury, WOW!!!, not enough words to describe how she opened my MOH with an assistant, and then I was transfered to PLASTIC SURGERY. There I was astonished with how many persons were helping this amazing expert Dr. Leal-Koury. Very very pleasant .At this moment after 6 hours I do not have any pain on my face, only , is swollen. This is the BEST! DERMATOLOGY CENTER , Yes, yes!!!!! They know , they really KNOW.... Thanks to all of you!!!! DERMATOLOGY & PLASTIC SURGERY IN KEY BISCAYNE FL. Sincerely, Robert García -Serra. Number 2 Dr, khouri,Dr.Leal,,Carolina & assistams behaved so nice with me, which deserve TWO WISHES FROM ME GOD BLESS THEM & I HOPE THEIR SALARY BE RAISED. NOW, TWO NICE COMPLAINS 1) WHY YOU DONT INJECT ANESTHESIA IN THE FACE BEFORE YOU COME WITH THOSE NEEDELS WHICH NOW I M HAVING NIGHTMARES WHEN I SEE A MONSTER WITH THOUSAND NEEDLES ON TOP OF ME,M THE SECOND COMPLAIN IS , IWHERE I BUY MY BOOKS, BARNES & NOBLE I SIT IN STAR BUCK COFFE, AND IS SO EXPENSIVE, THAT YOUR $-5 DOLLAR COUPON IS NOT ENOUGH TO BUY A GLASS OF WATERA. My husband and I both visited Dr. Leal-Khouri , my husband with one complaint and I with another. During his appointment he told the doctor his wife might like to come and see her. The doctor had me brought back immediately to the examination room and we shared a family consultation. The warmth and directness of the doctor was exceptional, unusual and completely set her apart from most other medical professionals weve dealt with. Both of us believe that the entire staff, including Dr. Leal-Khouri, cared about us as people first and patients second. When the type of offered services is needed again, Dr. Leal-Khouri will not just be our first choice but our only choice.

I had a wonderful medical experience today. My appointment was for 10am I arrived early and filled out the paper work. At 10 I ws shown into an office by the nurse. She discussed my complaints and told me the doctor would be there shortly. Within 3 minutes the doctor arrived, introduced herself and discussed my problem. She not only checked the area I had a problem with, she checked my entire body and found other areas which she treated. Everyone I had contact with, the doctor, the nurse, the front desk, and the exit person were personable, polite, attentive, caring and pleasant. I would recommend this office to anyone.
