Being extraordinarily cautious not react in an emotional manner considering the loss of my best friend of 23+ years, I only think its fair and logical to share my experience. I would never question the credibility of her experience or the friendliness of her staff but the people skills, with regards to their pets condition, lacks on all fronts. I recently had an African Grey Timneh who has only shown signs of illness two times in his long life. Once with exposure to paint fumes 20 years ago and the other with bleach that cost him his life. (my opinion) My initial visit to them, after admitting he was in dire straits, resulted in a disciplinary type attitude, guns blazing, about the diet he was on? (mind you he hadnt even been seen at this point) More concerned about his survival, I swallowed the hits and presumed to discuss in detail what exactly she was getting at once he was clear of danger. I guess the 20+ years of research and my alleged lack of concern for my parrots diet took precedence even though I had purchased the top recommended diet for African Greys. The diversion tactic worked and I was immediately on the guilt trip of how and what I should feed him from this point forward. What happened to his bleach exposure? Dunno..... The most disturbing part was the absolute lack of communicating anything what-so-ever regarding his stay for almost 6 days. Not one phone call was initiated other than by my own accord. I had to CALL to find out my parrot had passed only three days after being rewarded of good news about how well he was responding to treatment. The final bill was satisfied and my friend has been buried and laid to rest only after a friend of mine had to pick up the corpse while the Doctor acknowledged who he was and why he was there and......ignored him.! Whats done is done. I cant bring Pete back but I can guarantee you that this clinic has not satisfied my EXPECTED communication with something so dear to me. Something doesnt add up.. :( Please feel free to write me for details as I never would wish this kind of void on anyone...

I WILL NEVER TAKE A PET THERE AGAIN THEY DO SURGERY IN A ROOM WHERE THEY KEEP SICK ANIMALS THE ROOM IS NOT STERILE AND YOU CAN SMELL THE OLD BLOOD IT IS CRUEL AND INHUMANE TO POOR ANIMALS THAT ARE THERE AND THEY LEAVE DOGS WITH IVS IN THEME OVER NIGHT BY THERE SELF NO ONE TO KEEP A EYE ON IV I KNOW MY LAB WAS THERE SHE WAS LEFT IN A KENNEL OF FECES AND URINE OVER NIGHT FOR SO LONG IT MADE HER LEG RAW SHE WAS SO DEPRESSED SHE WOULD NOT EAT SHE DIED JUNE 2016 BUT NOT AT THAT HORRIBLE PLACE MY POOR MIKKI SHE WAS THERE FOR A WEEK I TRIED TO BRING HER HOME 3 TIME I TRIED TO BRING HER HOME FINALLY ON MAY 16 I HAD ENOUGH I CALLED AND TOLD THEM TO GET MY BABY CLEANED UP I WAS COMING TO GET HER I WISH I HAD DONE THAT SOONER I WILL NEVER FORGIVE MY SELF FOR NOT GETTING HER OUT SOONER BUT THE VET KEPT TELLING ME SHE NEEDED TO STAY SHE DID NOT EAT WHILE SHE WAS THERE A WEEK THEY COULD HAVE GAVE HER MEDICINE TO HELP HER EAT AND THERE WAS A SIMPLE BLOOD TEST THEY COULD HAVE DONE TO SEE IF SHE HAD PANCREATITIS DID NOT DO TEST DID NOT GIVE PROPER MEDICINE

This vet almost killed my poodle. He was diabetic and was on a special routine. I was going away for a few days and boarded him there. I had written down all the instructions for him, brought everything he needed, they said everything would be fine. I called every day that I was gone to check on him, and each time I was reassured that he was doing fine. When I came to pick him up he had a tube stuck down his throat, he had not been eating and was definitely very stressed. When I took him to the car he immediately threw up over and over. I thought for sure he would die that night. He was very weak and very sick. I knew he needed to eat so I gave him some vanilla ice cream. That was the only thing he could get down. I stayed up all night feeding him ice cream and gradually he got better. I called the vet and she said she had her own dog to take care of and couldnt be bothered with him. DONT EVER GO THERE IF YOU LOVE YOUR DOG!!!! I RATED 0 STARS NOT 4!!!

Pretty disgusted by Marcum Road Animal Hospital. We have been taking our family pets there for a while no problems. My sister dog was having breathing problems and they were closest vet by far. She called and they refused to see a dog with breathing problems. The dog literally died within a half hour on way to another vet that was farther away. Way to lose business... or was it because you guys close in a hour and half? So much for caring about animals as much as money. Looking for a new vet now

What truly counts as a vet is your compassion and love. I took my dog here the last 3 years, the entire time I lived here in lakeland. I called this morning to let them know he passed away over the weekend, and to ask what the protocol was... you would think I called the weather channel. Not even a "Im sorry" or ANYTHING! Just rake him to the incinerator and pay $200... didnt even bother to tell me I could legally bury him or pay only $7 at animal control!

The staff at marcum road has always been very friendly to my pets and I, and their costs have always been reasonable an affordable. This vet is an hours drive from where I live, but I make them my go to vet for all my dogs needs. The doctor is very cut and dry, and has never sugar coated anything for me. I like that! I need to know anything and everything that needs to be done for my babies to be healthy.

I have been taking my dogs to Marcum Animal Hospital for almost 12 years. I have found the office staff to be professional and caring. Dr. Gedeon cares about every animal in her charge and always does the right thing to help them if they are ill. She is easy to talk to and takes your concerns seriously. I am so glad that she was recommended to me so many years ago.

Been taking all my pets here since I first got my husky 3 years ago. Theyre currently taking care of my kitten who suffered head trauma. Hes gone from nearly dead, to practically comatose, to almost a sleepy kitty starting to move around. The amount of delicate care they have given him only reaffirms how much these people care for your pets as if they were their own.

We absolutely love Dr. Jessica Howe! She and the staff are absolutely amazing every time we come! We drive almost an hour to see her. They are very fairly priced! Would reccommend her to anyone! But the other vet, the older lady, we have seen and we never want to see her again. Will only go back again to see Dr. Howe.

I regret every going to see this vet. I had to wait over an hour and a half for my appointment. They double charged me and refused to send me a check. Instead the vet said I had to waste my time going back to the office to get a refund. They made it very difficult to get a prescription. I wont be going back.
