Good luck speaking to a human being or get a problem solved while you wither away. Got discharged from the hospital on a Friday with a medicine the insurance would not approve unless the doctor called the insurance company to explain the medicine was necessary. Mind you, this was one of those medicines that if you stop taking them one day you could suffer serious conditions. On Friday the pharmacy called the doctor, the hospital called the doctor, no response. On Saturday the pharmacy called the doctor, the hospital called the doctor, and I called the doctor, no response. Sunday no response. Finally on Monday I spoke to a human being after being on hold for 30 minutes. Same difference. They would get back to me. I called another Cardiologist in town, Dr. Kevin Bender instead, and he answered the phone immediately, booked me an appointment for the same day, he contacted the insurance company, straightened out my medicine, and I had peace of mind. Meanwhile I finally received a call from Dr. Sharpe/Funks office on Tuesday. I was told the doctor could prescribe me another medicine, and that I would have to call the insurance company to ensure the new medicine would be approved. It would have been soooooo much easier if they had just called the insurance company on Friday to inform them how necessary this medicine was. They claim you can request prescription refills and speak to the doctor through the internet. Funny how you cant reach a live human being if your life depends on it. If you MUST see this office, please make sure it does not happen on a Friday, and good luck with placing your lives in the hands of automated telephones. Very sad and unfortunate.

Dr Funk is no longer at this office! Had an appointment with him and receptionist never check me in after waiting for 45 minutes. She was very rude and she wasnt the only one. After a hour and a half I finally saw is nurse Barbra. She was obviously stressed which lead her to being rude. I asked her if I was bothering her and she told me she had other patients to! EXCUSE ME!!! I said to her go see her patients and walk out. I have other patients, really?? VERY unprofessional! Got my meds from my primary Doctor. In looking for another cardiologist and will NEVER step foot in that office again.

Margate, FL location left me on hold for 35 minutes to book an appt. I had to use 2 phones, the phone I made the call on 2nd was answered before the 1st with the longest hold time. It took quite some time to even get someone on the phone. Oh yeah, I was at work...quite frustrating.

I have been at this office of about 8 months and have been very happy with the services. Even though it is a busy office I always get call in at the appointed time and only had to wait for 15 minutes to see the doctor. all in all a pleasurable experience as doctor visits go.
