This review is in response to the review by Tamie Jacobs. I believe your review is actually quite deceptive. I have no affiliation with this office but work for a dental office. Im sorry for the miscommication between the staff and yourself however you were charged correctly for the service you received based on the information you provided. You didnt get a full exam, x-rays or cleaning yet you want the office to code it that way so you wont have a copay which would be fraud. You had a specific concern of a chipped tooth and sounds like they scheduled you accordingly as a limited exam and one xray to focus on your specific concern. Limited exams in my office are 20-30 minutes and allow us flexibility to fit a patient with a concern in a booked schedule quickly. This is more practical vs a full exam, x-rays, cleaning that are scheduled at an hour or more and harder to fit into the schedule. You may have not thought of it as an emergency but it very well could have been. Many times patients believe their chipped teeth are nothing to be concerned with until the xray reveals infection, need for root canal, extraction etc. Luckily in your case it was just a chip. Its unfortunate you didnt understand what procedures you were scheduled for but more unfortunate you didnt go back for your full exam, x-rays .(hopefully you went somewhere) With our office of 40 plus insurance plans we cannot always predict a patients out of pocket expense for treatment(each plan is so different and changes yearly) but you can always ask what you are scheduled for in advance and call your specific insurance plan to see if it is a covered procedures before going. Good luck in all future dental appointments. Most of us do really care about your dental health.

********PLEASE DONT USE THIS FACILITY********* HAD TO PUT 1 STAR TO MAKE A REVIEW, MY EXPERIENCE WAS A ~0~ SHADY I was charged $98.00 for an x-ray of 1 tooth. While my insurance covers 100% for a complete exam which includes a full mouth x-ray, cleaning and exam. I chose this facility because I knew my insurance covered my visit. The office manager Tony was extremely nasty when I tried to get this matter resolved. She hung up on me. As you can imagine I was shocked when I received a bill. DECEPTIVE PRACTICES. It was coded for an x-ray of 1 tooth because a small piece of tooth had broke off, it was not an emergency visit as Tony the office manager said to me. Ive never been to a Dentist before that practiced in this fashion and didnt tell me up front they were going to charge me like it was an emergency when I didnt say any such thing when I called to make an appointment. Why would a dentist practice of 20 something locations do such a thing. My appointment was for a complete exam which is covered 100%. Why would I make an appointment to have a Dentist Practice charge me when I get one visit free of cost yearly. I wasnt in any pain and it wasnt an emergency. I didnt get a full mouth x-ray, cleaning or full exam. In closing there was no apology or any attempt to resolve this coding error. Only a nasty voice coming from Tony the office manager hanging up on me. This happened in early 2016, I never went back and the tooth is still chipped not causing any problem and I never got my x-rays, cleaning or full exam.

From the moment I walked into this office I should have followed my instinct and turned right around. Their first priority seemed to be about making money. I had 6 fillings on my first visit and my teeth have not been right since. I can not eat on my left side at all and my right side is painful as well. My husband was also a patient and experienced the same pain. After going to another dentist it was discovered that the fillings they did for him had to be removed because they actually cracked his teeth. He had to have a root canal and a permanent crown. Please do not make the same mistake we did and go here. I usually dont post negative reviews but I feel this is necessary. We have absolutely nothing positive to say about this office.

I had some dental issues weighing heavy on my mind. I called the office to make an appointment for a 2nd opinion and was given a "same day" appointment. Dr. Douglas alleviated my anxiety and explained a more conservative treatment plan that would address my current issues. AND he offered to fit me into the schedule "right then and there". He and his wonderful staff fixed all my dental issues with much less invasive and painless procedures! I walked out of this dental practice having had all of dental concerns addressed at a more affordable cost and with a sense of relief that still persists! Thank you to all who make Smile Design Dentistry of New Port Richey a quality dental practice. :)

Dr. Wang was very thurough and completed procedures fast. Hygenist, Erin, is also very nice. She is easy to talk to and makes my proceedures relaxing and less stressful. I would recomend Smile Design Dentistry and staff to friends and family. The big down side for me is also their (as it seems at times) is the way they pressure you about payments and a little expensive. They also try to talk you into applying for a CareCredit credit card. With a perfect credit score the APR was Over 26%. Otherweise the Staff gives exceptional service, always remembers your name when you walk in and easy to schedule in-case of emergency.

Before I found Doc Douglas, I was getting frustrated with the constant "up selling" of unnecessary dental procedures at other dental offices. Dr Douglas has been my dentist several years now. Hes done one major procedure in that time becsuse it was truly nessasary, and he did a wonderful job! Staff there is always pleasant and professional. Im glad I found them, and I offer up this glowing review because I think their ethical business and dental practices should be rewarded!

Everyone in this office is quite intelligent & knowledgeable, and also kind, courteous & compassionate. While dental visits can be somewhat financially traumatic, it may sound crazy that I actually enjoy my appointments because its like visiting with friends! The focus here is healthy teeth = a healthy smile and I would definitely refer anyone to this office!

Dr. Douglas and his staff on Little Road are phenomenal! His staff is super friendly, easy to work with, and very accommodating and flexible with my schedule. Dr. Douglas is passionate about achieving great results with his patients, and he carefully explains and goes over everything in detail as to what you, the patient, can expect.

Excellent dental group, I have referred two other patients. Both Dr. Douglas and Erin are teriffic. Only negative is their emphasis on money, it seem to come up frequently with your Treatment Plan or when you check out. They cost you a little more but are worth every cent because of their competent care.
