Based on my awful experience with this clinic, I do not recommend anyone bring their pet to this clinic. I am outraged that Dr. Davila was unable to diagnose my 9 month-old puppy Labrador, Raiko, with a simple kennel cough. Instead, it was recommended that x-rays be performed to determine the cause of his coughing/gagging. Nearly $700.00 later, Dr. Davila then recommended an additional test under anesthesia. Think about that...they wanted to sedate my 9 month-old puppy!! Not knowing any better, I paid the exorbitant bill but left with great doubt. Once I got home, I approached my neighbor, who has been around dogs most of her life. She advised me that it appeared to her that my puppy had a simple case of kennel cough. Its important to note that I, a first time dog owner, had never heard of kennel cough. Dr. Davila never even mentioned the possibility of kennel cough. My neighbor recommended another veterinarian, and after seeing my puppy, the veterinarian confirmed it was in fact kennel cough! To make matter worse, as soon as I entered the waiting area of my neighbors veterinarian, an assistant came to the area and heard my puppy cough/gag and immediately said, "oh, he has kennel cough." At that moment, I felt so angry that a professional and licensed doctor would pull a scare tactic to make me pay for unnecessary services. I contacted the clinic to address my concerns and they refused to acknowledge any wrongdoing. Going so far as misrepresenting that they in fact tested for kennel cough. Once again, kennel cough was never mentioned during Dr. Davila’s examination of my puppy. Dr. Davila’s standard of care failed to accurately diagnose something as straight forward as a kennel cough. In addition to their negligent care, they abused our family’s love for our puppy and lack of veterinary knowledge to bill me for unnecessary treatment. IT WAS KENNEL COUGH!!! $700.00 for kennel cough & a strong recommendation to sedate my 9 month-old puppy!!! Do yourself a favor and stay away from this abusive and inept clinic!

My keeper (my wife, I know my place) and I have been bringing our furry crew to Bayshore for over 20 years. I met Dr. McCoy after almost running my truck thru his glass window trying to save Nikki (my Yorkie who just 10 min prior bit a bufo toad). After a long 6hrs and a no sleep night she made it thanks to Bayshore. She met a boy Yorkie named Rocky who then became her husband and gave us Lucky their son. All went to Bayshore and lived long healthy lives (we lost Lucky 2yrs ago he was 16). We also have Bruno our Chihuahua (18); he doesn’t get to Baysore much cuz all he does is sleep. He knows of them, and occasionally goes in for a shot and an anal temperature reading and he out of there quick, not the highlight of his day. Now we have a new crew . All rescue Yorkies with various issues, Gizmo, Spike, Nena, and Lady all go to Bayshore. We have been shown how to do sub q fluids for Gizmo’s kidney issues and how to feed him organically. He was only supposed to live 2yrs he’s 12 now thanks to Bayshore. We could not think of bringing our “kids” to another vet. The attention to detail and the best course of action for your best friend is what you will get. And like any good leader he is backed by a knowledgeable, caring and friendly staff.

I would recommend this vet to everyone. They have taken excellent care of my 14 year old lab mix (Snoop) for about the last 7 years. I used another vet in North Miami when I first moved to S. FL but that vets office was horrible! The last time I kenneled Snoop at the other vets office I arrived 30 mins early to pick him up hoping I could get him early and start my day. As soon as I opened my car door from the parking lot I could hear him yelping and crying from inside the building, and the staff just ignored him and me. I then began using Bayshore. Whenever I have to kennel Snoop they always give me a call during the stay to let me know that he is doing great, and the day after he comes home they always call to check up on him. Whenever I call the office for anything as soon as I tell them my name they always immediately ask "How is Snoop?" without looking for a file or searching to see what pet I have. This type of service makes me (and Snoop) feel like MVPs! So much so that when I moved to another county I still take Snoop there. They are also very patient and comforting to an older dog that doesnt like to be poked, prodded, and examined. Dr. Crespo is the best!

Ive been taking my dog AJ to Bayshore for 7+ years (on the recommendation of a colleague) for shots and boarding. Id heard stories of dogs that freak out as soon as they realize theyre on their way to the vet; AJ gets more and more excited. The people who work there know him by name and are always glad to see him. They come out from "behind the curtain" when they hear hes in the office, just to pet him and say "hi." This was never the case the few times I took AJ to the PetSmart vet/Banfield hospital (though I have no complaints about the care I received there). Now that I have a 2nd dog, AJs companion, its only Bayshore for her. Theres no doubt that a visit to the vet is expensive (x 2 if you have two dogs). Thats why Ive had PetPlan insurance. . . forever! I also recommend Bayshore for boarding, something my dogs have done a dozen times over the years. As for products, they match Heartgard and Advantix at whatever price I can find online (at 1800PetMeds, for ex.)

I have been using Dr. McCoy for over 30 years, we have taken cats, dogs, rats and even sought advice for birds we have rescued. Jim, Dr. Crespo and the entire staff at Bayshore Veterinary Clinic have always provided outstanding care for all of the critters that we have brought in. Jim always explains what he is doing--the process, what he is looking for, why he is looking, the prognosis and what needs to be done to heal your pet. The staff always follows up to see how your pet is doing and if more help is needed. At those time when nothing can be done for your 4-legged loved one, his staff is very empathetic and respectful for your loss. I cant say enough about the positive relationship we have had with everyone at the clinic. Chris Wilson

Great, friendly, proficient and caring staff! I found their clinic because I needed an international travel certificate for my dog. I was very happy to find a place where they are familiar with all the restrictions and requirements of international travel, what a relief! Dr. Crespo was fantastic. Some weather issues came up for one of the countries we had to stop at on our way and Dr. Crespo solved that by faxing me over a new health certificate that would allow us to be there BUT just for a couple of hours. Airlines can be really picky about this so I wanted to be ready and avoid any problems before travelling. I would definitely go see them if you need a pet in the area. Thanks for your help! Stinker says "Hi".
