Very Nice People. My experience started with a broken pair of glasses which I did not purchase from this office. I just walked in off the street and asked if they could fix my broken frame. The office was very beautiful inside and they greeted me very nicely. The optician was very friendly and offered me a cupcake while he inspected my glasses. Ten minutes later he came back and had perfectly repaired them, changed my nose pads and cleaned them for me. I had surely thought that my glasses were gonners but it was a miracle. I asked how much were the charges and they told me that they do not charge for repairs or adjustments no matter where I purchased them. What a pleasant surprise, it made my day. They were so nice that I made my next eye appointment there. After forty years, that was my most thorough eye exam ever. The entire office is professional, friendly and honest from top to bottom. I now bring all of my family there and have recommended East Lake Eyecare to several friends.. Everyone has had the same great experience which I have had. They fully deserve best ever- FIVE STARS.

I lost a gas rigid contact lens and need a replacement. I contacted East Lake Eye Care (previously Bender Eye Care) and they shredded my medical records for the last 33 years because I have not been there for 5 years. I had no idea what my prescription was or the contract brandmodel name. I have been wearing gas rigid contacts for 30 years. The rigid model allow my eyesight not to chance much over time, that is why I havent need to get new contacts in 5 years. Anyway, Elliot at East Eye Care showed no compassion and wanted $200.00 for an exam and contact fitting. Needless to say, why would I pay $200 to someone that destroyed 33 years of eye care history? Per my conversation with other eye doctors, most are scanning records and storing them on CD’s to save space. My new eye doctor, Dr. Claffie, said that I would not need to worry about her eye care facility deleting my records for 10-15 years. So, the word of advice here is; if you value your medical history, I would not recommend going to East Lake Eye Care. They don’t care and that’s the bottom line.

I have lived in pinellas Co. since 1974 . I have worm glasses ( now w/ bifocals since i was 12. I have bought several pairs of glasses at this business. I am extremely upset w the lack of professionalism and the mis information given to me when i contacted them. In Jan 2012 I purchased 3 pair of glasses they had made. 1- sunlass bifocal,1 regular everyday bifocal, 1 pair of mid range glasses for computer work and redo lenses i an older frame. On the everyday glasses they sold me an anti glare product with no explanation. I noticed that it was literally impossible to keep these lenses from clouding up. When I contacted them more than once they finally told me that because of the size of my lens they had to use an inferior ( they did not call it that) anti reflect . After seeing 3 other opt they all looked at prescription and told me not true. The good product for antI glare could be used . I remember the name to begin with Chl. Anyway the customer service and general overall attitude was rough. NEVER AGAIN

My family and I have been a patients/customers of East Lake Eyecare for several years now and have always had great experiences. On the few occasions I had any issues, they always explained to me what the problem was, which was almost always insurance related. I think too often we as consumers dont really understand the limitations of vision insurance so it can be upsetting to learn that insurance isnt going to cover as much cost as one had hoped. When my daughter experienced a broken leg on her not quite 1 year old glasses, they replaced it at no charge. Beyond the actual product and support of that product, I feel that Dr. Rusoff always gives me an extremely thorough exam. I never feel that I am being rushed through anything there.

My wife and I bought two pairs of glasses from East Lake Eye Care. Everything went well. Total cost $1600.00 for both pairs of glasses. We payed this price because we thought we where getting the best glasses with the best customer support and service....WRONG... My Silloute glasses broke apart for no reason when i took them off and they want to charge me 70.00 to fix. I called to complain and they said they could send the part back and get their money back and I could pick up my broken glasses!!!! are you kidding me. My company would never ever treat a customer like that. There are tons of top notch eye care places in Tampa Bay that would love to have our business. Do not spend your hard earned dollars at this place period.

Dr. Deupree, my macular degeneration specialist, suggested Dr. Rusoff as my optomerist almost 10 years ago and I am so thankful. The testing I get from her is extensive and beyond any optometrists I have ever experienced. She is also able to treat my glaucoma. I took the eye glass prescription I received from the doctor who removed my cataracts and she found it was incorrect - and spent almost 2 hours getting me the perfect prescription. She is professional and compassionate and puts the patient first. Her staff is friendly and always cheerful. There is a good selection of eye glasses for all age groups, too.

Went to East Lake Eyecare yesterday for the first time. It took me over 2.5 months to get an appointment. Now that I have been there I know why.. Everyone was extremely friendly and helpful. Had a very thorough eye exam and the staff from the Doctor, to everyone everyone else I dealt with were great and no one was ever a bit rushed. Its nice to be in an office where the staff have great attitudes. It shines through in their work. I went here based on a recommendation and now I can see why I had such a wait to get an appointment.

Excellent eye care with a personal touch! Dr. Coates provides a wonderful eye exam, and the retail center has a great selection. When my dog chewed my daughters glasses the day before she had to go to her All State Orchestra/Band Performance, the amazing people of East Lake Eyecare loaned her a pair of frames to get her through until her replacements came in! This exceptional customer service is above and beyond any that you will find elsewhere! As a business owner myself, I am proud to support this local business!

Ive been coming here for years because the Doctors, opticians and front desk staff are very efficient and friendly. Large section of frames to chose from and never feel rushed selecting which style looks best on me. I look forward to going in for my yearly exam. I recommend this place to anyone looking for a smaller optical, where staff remembers you by name and always has cupcakes/cookies for you as you shop, instead of larger chains stores where you feel rushed though like cattle.

I have worn glasses for 60 years and gone through numerous progressive lens types over the past 20 years. My family has been going here since 1994; we begin when it was Bender eye Care. We have always received excellent care and service. I was their first patient to try new Rodenstock Progressives and later switched to Zeiss progressives, both requiring special fitting. They have been very helpful and have always been there when we need them. Highly recommend East Lake Eyecare.
