The doctor is extremely skilled in medical procedures. The biopsy he took from my thyroid didnt hurt at all. Great bedside manner. Unlike most doctors in the area, he has respect for other peoples time. I was seen by the doctor/staff within 15 minutes of arriving. I didnt like that I had to pay for an initial establishment visit. That is $80 Ill never see again and for what? To put my name in their computer? The attendant (plus-size, pretty girl with dark hair) at arrival was rude but she isnt substantial enough to cause a lost star. Payment- I had a little hiccup with payment but it was fixed to my satisfaction. I had an uptake scan done which is a two day procedure. Day 1- Paid. I asked if I would have to pay again tomorrow. The first attendant was unsure so she asked the attendant behind her. She looked up the procedure. She told me payment was only required for Day 1. Day 2- My results werent ready so they asked me to come back. Day 3- The Billing Manager attempted to ask for payment but after some arguing she comped the visit. Later they sent me a bill for that visit (Day 3) but I called and they said to disregard that bill. Overall, Good Experience.

Sat in an examination room for 2 hours and ended up leaving without being seen by the doctor. I had previous concerns about the doctors practice due to the long list of additional services they are peddling to their patients. If you go to their in-house gym for $100/month, they offer mild-narcotics to lose weight. During my two hour wait, I had to watch advertisements for their other services. You can get Botox, a massage, have your prescription filled, blood work performed, workout in the gym, get mild-narcotics (not my thing) AND get an eye exam all in one place. Unfortunately, I couldnt be seen by the doctor for my thyroid care, which was my reason for going to see Dr. Kamel. I now have a new doctor. Another frustration came when I needed to get my medical records sent to my new physician. After constantly getting voicemail and no returned call, I had to demand for someone to talk to me and help.

I waited an hour to be brought back which normally would have been frustrating. I expected to be brought in and dismissed quickly as has been my experience with many specialists. HOWEVER when Dr. Kamel came in and sat down and took his time to talk to me and make me feel like he was there solely for me, the wait was worth it. His staff, from the receptionist to the nurses and aides in the office were all so nice and you could tell they enjoyed where they worked. I am so glad I finally forced myself to go and that, although over an hour away, this is who my doctor recommended. What an amazing experience. I would travel 2 hours to get the experience and the care I received there.

(Destin, FL office) Dr. Kamel seems to know his business and cares for his patients. Unfortunately I only got to see him once. Every other visit was with a Nurse Practitioner. His staff, one Nurse Practitioner in particular, cares little to know case history and is in no hurry to see patients as I could hear them nonchalantly conversing in the hall as I waited 40+ minutes past my appointment with only one other patient in the building. Ive had several appointments there and each time there was some issue. There were long waits, incorrect prescriptions, and a general lack of preparation for appointments. If you have to use this office, demand to see only Dr. Kamel.

"I was referred to Dr. Kamels office for thyroid issues. At my first appointment, I had some questions and needed help with my paper work; a staff member came and help me fill it out. After I was brought back to a room, I was seen by Dr. Kamel and he was very kind; explained to me about my thyroid issue. I was very impressed. I was able to have my labs drawn and was set up to have an ultrasound on my thyroid in his office. The staff was very kind and Dr. Kamel was very professional."

I preferred the small cramp office. Hes now in a show palace. I switched doctors because the bigger he became, the less personal it became. I was in the hospital in another city with ketoacidosis, I was admitted and he never returned my doctors phone call or mine. Nice!!! He referred any complaint to the office manager. She never followed up on anything. They push the multitude of expensive extras they offer on you. Great if you have the money.

Never got to see the Doc, so "No Comment" There. Office Manager refused to allow me to see him since I wouldnt agree to sign all forms (paperwork). Nice glass palace he works in, with expensive gadgets and technical machines. Full boat of staff personnel. Be ready to pay your co-pay before seeing anyone. They want that Money!
