This is a review of the office staff, not the doctor, because, as you will learn through my review, I never got the chance to see a doctor! I showed up this morning 30 minutes prior to my appointment, as requested (11am appointment, showed up at 10:30am). FINALLY, at 11am (not prior - why was I there 30 minutes early?), the front desk staff calls me up and tells me that my appointment is actually for TOMORROW, not today. For one, I am not happy about that because I took notes while on the phone making my appointment and wrote the date down THREE TIMES - mainly because I had to fast that morning prior to blood work, so I wanted to make sure I had the date right because fasting is the pits!!!! For two, why did the staff make me wait 30 MINUTES before telling me I was there on the supposed wrong day??? The staff went through the entire sign-in list, including 7 people who came in after me, checked them in, gave them paperwork, and THEN called me up to tell me I was there on the "wrong day", NOT when they got to my name and couldnt find me!! If they had told me within 10-15 minutes of being there that it was the "wrong day" then I could have gone back to work without having wasted too much time, but over 30 minutes was absurd. NOW, the staff tells me I can get on the waiting list to see the doctor since I "dont have an appointment". I ask how long that will take. "I have no idea" is the response. I understand that she cannot predict how long other appointments will take, but maybe "anywhere from 30 minutes to 2 hours" or SOMETHING. "I have no idea" is extremely unhelpful. I tell her I will wait for a little longer to see if they can squeeze me in (since Ive already been waiting for over 30 minutes at this point, I might as well wait a little longer.) I go sit down. I get called back up maybe 10 minutes later and am handed some paperwork to fill out. At least I have something to do now. Another 5 minutes passes and I get called up again (Im only on the 2nd page of paperwork so at this point its like what is happening now?) The woman tells me that she made a mistake and that I cant be on a waiting list for a physical. NOW she tells me???? Ive been there for a good 45 minutes and am now told that they cannot see me today but that I can come back for my correct appointment tomorrow (which I am 100% certain is NOT what the woman who scheduled my appointment told me when I scheduled last week). So at this point, I tell them to cancel my appointment and that I will not be back. So I found another physician at another practice and will not be returning to Northwest Family Medical. I know 45 minutes isnt a major, major amount of time, but the front desk staff had absolutely no consideration of my time or me having to take time off of work to make it in, and could not have cared less that I was inconvenienced. Im happy to spend my time and money elsewhere.

Hands down the WORST front office staff ever! I have been a patient of Dr. Cromers for almost 14 years and have followed him as hes grown into a larger practice. I am so disappointed with how things have changed. While I understand that Healthcare is demanding and offices are stretched thin with patient loads and poor reimbursements, I dont think it is too much to ask for a friendly front office staff or back office staff. From the horrible feedback that you get from the headsets they use when you call to the lackluster borderline attitude sounding robotic replies, the front office is horrendous. On top of that, recently when calling for diagnostic results, I was cut off by the front office staff and recited information I didnt need and then transferred to a back office M.A./Nurse who also cut me off. When I advised her I had a copy of my report for the exam in question she stated, "Then what are you calling us for?". Im not a Dr. I wanted to know what my report meant! After being on hold, I was told I needed to see a specialist and when I asked for a referral I was told, "Go online to your insurance website and look in your directory of providers." Maybe its just me but I look to my provider whom I trust, to refer me to someone that they are confident in...I dont know maybe it was too much to ask! Im just extremely disappointed with the slippery slope that the office seems to be sliding down. While I will continue to try and remain loyal out of respect to my providers, whom I believe are unaware of these issues, I think there is some serious areas of concern within this practice that need to be addressed promptly. Should you choose this practice, please do not judge your experience solely on the front office as the Physicians are wonderful!

This review is based on the office and billing dept. Dr. Cromer had been my PCP since I was 13 years old..17 years later, I am leaving his office. Not due to faults of Dr. Cromer himself. (He is a very wonderful Dr.) But, the front office staff is hands down the rudest women, I have ever had to deal with. The office or billing dept. nickles and dimes you any chance they get. From a $10 blood draw fee, to a $10 pre-authorization paperwork fee. I had a bill at one-point for a physical, that included a very detailed and serious eye exam, which in actuality, was a charge from me reading the letters off of a paper, that was taped to a door- they were trying to charge the insurance extra. When I called GMS Billing, she said "Oh that charge will be written off, they just include that to see if the insurance will pay". It is ridiculous. I will say, that I would see Christian more often, the past couple of years (And she was the best, I really enjoyed her.) But, I have since started using FL Medical which I absolutely love. They have their own in-house lab. They do re-fills and referrals in a timely manner, and Ive never gotten any rude responses when I call the front office for questions or concerns. Its truly sad that after so many years, I had to leave Dr. Cromers office. If he would see what is really going on in his office and make a change, I am sure he would have happier patients, that would stick around.

The office staff answering the phones can be described as aloof. I only go to the doctor when absolutely necessary. I havent been in about a year. I just called to make an appointment to find out that I have been in collections with the office for over a year now over a $30 copay that was payed last year and someone forgot to clear out of the system. The member of the office staff I was speaking with asked if I would like to have the office manager look at the issue after I became upset at her lack of initiative to resolve the issue. She took my number, the office manager is supposed to resolve the issue, and give me a call back. The office personnels attitude left me with a feeling of ambivalence. Now I have to check my credit report to see if I am being adversely affected by someones over sight at their office. Are they going to fix it? Well, its been one year, and they still dont seem like they can take the time to actually help you. Oh well, I guess they cant break with the protocol that the nurse practitioners so strictly adhere to. Dont ever really count on seeing Dr. Cromer here unless youd like to make an appointment either 6 months in advance or for something that can really generate some revenue unlike the normal run of the mill appointments must of us need to make.
