Terrible experience with their staff. Any time I tried calling here to make an appointment, the girl who answered the phone was extremely unhelpful or would say she would call me back and wouldnt. I went to Infinity Eye Care after moving to Florida because I wanted new glasses and it had been a while since I had an exam. He did the exam and it took 2 weeks to get my new glasses (most places have them to you in an hour). The prescription seemed WAY off to me, but I was told to give it two weeks to adjust. After struggling with poor vision in one eye and major headaches, I asked for another exam. He upped the prescription in the eye I wasnt seeing as well out of, and now my other eyes prescription seems too weak. I called again asking for another appointment and the receptionist said she would talk with the doctor and call me back the next day. She never called back. At one point, the guy working in their office told me that one of my lenses was cut to small and he was ordering a new one. He would call me when it was in. That was a month ago, never heard back. - awful communication with staff - gave me wrong prescription, twice - were not helpful when choosing glasses - takes 2 weeks to get prescription lenses in - hours are not good for the typical full time worker (9-5 M-F)

Staff is terrible! Randomly picked this Doctor as I was new to the area. After my appointment, office was supposed to call me to let me know my contacts or glasses were in. Waited two weeks, then had to call repeatedly and leave messages before finally getting someone on the phone. It turns out they forgot to order my contacts as instructed by the doctor, then lied about it, saying the order was delayed. I called my insurance and found out that the contacts were not even ordered until 2 weeks after my appointment. I then requested my prescription be faxed to me- it was never sent. My insurance only covers glasses OR contacts, but Rose stated she would submit request for insurance to cover contacts as medically necessary. A month passed and I received letter from my insurance stating they had granted the request for my contacts but the office had to order them within 30 days of approval, which had expired by that time. Called the office and was put on hold repeatedly for 20 minutes. Then they claimed they did not know what my insurance was. Seriously????? The incompetence and lack of basic customer service is staggering. Im very very unhappy I used up my one insurance-covered visit per year at this place. I will not use them again.

The O.D. who conducted the eye exam was good and I can recommend him. Their billing process borders on fraud, though. **Be aware: this office charges insurance separately for a service they provide called "contact lens fitting exam."** They do not explain when this procedure begins or ends. This exam is expensive and they automatically enact the service on you if they find out you use contacts. This service was bestowed on me without explanation or confirmation that I wanted it. This extra and unnecessary (for me) service cost $50 and they would not bill it to my insurance. By the time we got to billing, the unwanted service had already been performed. What was expected have been a $20 office visit with copay for my husband and I turned into a $100 visit without our consent or knowledge. Their billing prices are not listed on their website or in their office. If you choose to visit this eye care center, ask for your specific billing charges *before** you allow them to begin any exam or services.

I went here because the downtown eye doctor canceled on me an hour before the appointment. One phone call later I have an eye exam in two hours, the day before a holiday. Great doctor, very informative and pleasant. Since my eyes were dilated, I was waiting for a ride home and decided to look for glasses. Found something nice, great pricing with my insurance and two weeks later I had my glasses. They did make one small mistake which they immediately started the process to remedy. Long story short is I am going to get a 2nd pair with very little additional cost, and they were extremely apologetic even though it was an honest mistake. While I was initially unsure whether to go here b/c of a few negative reviews, I would not hesitate to recommend STES. I had one occasion where they were a bit slow getting back to me, but it was a mixup from the 3rd party lab and out of their control. Overall, nice people, good selection and they seem very interested in solving any problems.

I tried to get established with eye care doctor after moving to Florida. I called Infinity eye care center to make an appointment since I live within a walking distance but was put on hold for like 5-10 minutes to speak to the scheduler. I had to hang up the phone to call later. On another day, I was driving by and stopped to check the store and also to schedule an appointment in person. Two ladies working at the front disk seemed to be busy with checking in one patient and scheduling an appointment over the phone. I waited in the front area waiting for either one to acknowledge me but the first lady left her post after she checked in the patient, and the second lady took her coffee and left the front desk after finished scheduling the phone appointment. I looked around the store, no one left to help or acknowledged me or will be coming back. So for the second time, I left not planning to call or come back

One year ago, I came in their office to pick up the prescription sunglasses I ordered. I happened to be dealing with significantly red, itchy eyes that day, which is rare for me. Once I told them about my eyes, the doctor offered to examine them immediately. This was remarkable due to: 1) The immediate service. 2) Office hours had ended. 3) The doctor examined my eyes for FREE. 4) Then gave me a bunch of free drops to correct the problem. I am grateful for that. I just had a scheduled eye exam today, and Dr. Smith went out of his way to explain my vision to me - even showing me pictures of the inside of my eye and explaining what I was seeing, which was fascinating. No eye doctor has ever done that for me before. You can tell the doctor has a passion for what he does and really cares. The office workers are nice as well. I am very impressed by South Tampa Eye Site and I would recommend them to anyone.

Their doctors are ok but the service is terrible. Crowded waiting area, felt like everyone was rushing me through the process and out the door, and the lady who was supposed to help me find frames just stood me in front of a small wall of random frames and said nothing. I never got any help on how to wear, when to wear, no real answers to any questions beyond "this is your prescription". Did not feel welcome, helped, or even cared about. Will not be returning, I got frames elsewhere and I will be taking all of my business elsewhere too. Find a place that values you and talks to you like a real person, not this place.
