Dr. DeSimone is simply AMAZING! Period! Seriously, read that again and repeat it like a mantra. There isnt enough room here to express my deep heartfelt appreciation for Dr."D", nor have I mastered the language to a level proficient enough to describe how I feel about his surgical skills and equally important his people skills. Dr."D" made me feel very much at ease during our first appt. when we reviewed my MRI all the way to my followup yesterday. While I knew I need surgery, it was the way with which he shared what would be done while "hes in there" during the surgery. He explained how he "cleans up" when hes in there. My damage meant he had some cleaning to do no doubt. The day of surgery he stopped in pre-op to see how Im doing and reassured me not like a robotic Dr. but rather like a good friend "just checkin in on ya". This part is where Im at loss for my admiration of Dr."D"; while fixing my rotator cuff muscle he found substantial damage of my bicep muscle/tendon and his version of "cleaning up" when he was in there meant he took the extra time to FIX THAT ALSO!!!! So my surgery that should have taken perhaps 1 to 1 1/2 hrs took nearly 4 hours! Why? Because Dr."D" has a rare combination of incredible skills AND deep compassion & concern for his patients! Seriously, who does that?! Dr. DeSimone, thats who! Some day I hope to be able to convey to Dr."D" how much that means to me. I have NEVER been treated so kindly and with such care & respect. The rest here is the feel-good icing on the cake! So you need surgery; your first hint of greatness begins with the surgical coordinator Melissa Mader. Once youre in Melissas hands all you need to do is relax and listen. Melissa is SO well-organized its almost scary. Before you see Melissa she already has everything you will need ready to review with you. Melissa coordinates ALL surgeries for the office, but yet she made me feel as though I was the only person having surgery. Melissa will be with you every step of the way, nothing will be forgotten or overlooked. Melissa takes ownership of your surgery & surgical needs so nothing is left to wonder. How she does this with so many patients is beyond me. She will simply say "Im here for my patients, and youre my patient". Hey Melissa, dont underestimate your value to the operation, you are irreplaceable. Post Surgery; Paul from the surgical team calls me at home shortly after I arrive to make sure Im ok, Dr."D" calls me on SUNDAY to verify all is going well. Who would dare to call any of that anything other stellar health care? And if you havent guessed it yet, yes, Melissa calls to make sure Im doing. Each person on Dr."D"s staff would always ask "how are you feeling?, do you need anything?, can I do anything for you?" during every call. Ive done everything I could to keep this review a reasonable length. However, there were SO many constant little things (hurricane anyone?! that transpired where there was always a positive aspect to the moment due to Dr."D" and his staff. You will never know what true healthcare and compassion is until you make an appt. with Dr. DeSimone. Dr."D", thank you for who you are, you are wonderful! Sincerely, DaveM

I am so happy to have found Dr. DeSimone. Having a background of almost life-long heavy lifting, I had struggled for years with shoulder pain , which had reached a life-impacting degree. When I met him, and I had tried and given up on two other doctors so far. Dr. DeSimone was a new kind of doctor for me. After X-rays and an MRI to get additional info, he explained my options in detail, and with a real-world pragmatic approach that was refreshing. Although his office is very busy and fast-paced, he has patience and a presence that is actually quite calming, and he spent time with me during each visit. I wanted to go for orthoscopic surgery, and that’s what we did. Six months after surgery, my shoulder is easily over 90% better , and getting better still. My day-to-day life is no longer impacted by pain for everyday activities (and yes, Dr. DeSimone, I am trying to “treat it kindly”, as you advised ). I am extremely grateful. I also must say, about his team: The anesthesiologist he used with me, Dr. Pinto, was the first , ever in my life (4 surgeries), to save me from my usual experience of violent and long lasting nausea. With him I has zero nausea at all ( a miracle, really, considering my track record). And a very special high-five for his P.A. Eric Bronson (the one of two whom I saw most often during my visits there) , who was a wonderfully informative, enthusiastic and positive force in my healing, and I appreciate him so much for that. I would recommend this experience to anyone. Thank you Dr. DeSimone , and team. Truly.

I tore my ACL and MCL skiing 2 years ago while on vacation. After the accident, I made calls left and right to figure out who I should see when I got back to town and Dr. DeSimone’s name came up repeatedly with rave reviews. At the time, my children were much younger so I opted to wait on the surgery and finally had it a few months ago. Therefore, I have been dealing with Dr. DeSimone’s office for over 2 years on and off and they are wonderful. Dr. DeSimone is extremely professional and pleasant. Dr. DeSimone takes the time to listen to you as patient and address your concerns. So often doctors are one foot out the door before you can ask a question and you will NEVER find this with Dr. DeSimone. It is very apparent that he loves what he does and really takes the time to engage with his patients. His staff are also very professional and it’s obvious he only wants the best on his team. I was so nervous about my surgery and recovery. My surgery went well and on time as they don’t overbook surgeries in their office which is wonderful. My follow up care and appointments with the doctor were amazing. In the worst case scenario of having to have reconstructive ACL surgery I found myself in the best scenario possible in terms having such a wonderful surgeon. I am so pleased with the outcome. I highly recommend Dr. DeSimone!!!

I am a firefighter on So. Florida. During training I had complete disruption of my rotator cuff, labrum, clavicular ligament, tore my bicep and tendon, and ripped two places of my pec. Catastrophic!!! Dr. D, Pauly, Eric, and staff put me back together and back on a rig. Professional, compassionate, sarcastic, loving, and now considered family. Over the last couple of years, my two boys have excelled in competitive soccer. Along with competition comes injuries. You can say my boys have made a rune of the office seeing Dr.s Shanassa, Messina, and Fishman, and of course Dr. D. These gentleman are Masters of the Universe in my mind. Theyre understanding of the spots culture and mind set puts them far above the rest. They treat their patients with diligence and prepares them for the rigors of active lifestyles. Last but not least, my wife saw how they treated me and the boys, she joined the race and is on the road to recovery. My confidence and respect, as well as my families well being, had led us to recommend the So. Florida Institute of Sports Medicine to many of our friends and family. Without them we would be banged up cheering from the sidelines instead of battling on the field. Thank you so so much.....The DeVitos
